Romit Raj brings Ghajini to Maayka
Romit Raj's character Jeet in Maayka is currently suffering from a memory loss. The lad says he is inspired by Aamir's character in Ghajini and is hoping to give a similar inspiring performance on the small screen.
"Aamir has done a fabulous job in Ghajini. In fact he's just too good in all his movies," praises Romit, "We've gone the Ghajini way in our show… the way Jeet loses his memory is similar to how Sanjay Singhania loses his memory in the film. Cherry sends her gundas who hit Jeet hard thrice with a rod on his head and as a result he loses his memory."
Is his role completely inspired from the movie?
"Ya… you can say that but the only difference is that Sanjay Singhania undergoes a short term memory loss but it's not the same with Jeet. He doesn't have to click pictures and keep in his pocket to remember people," he laughs.
The Maayka guy says he's a big fan of Aamir and he has watched the movie 7 times.
"I've studied 3 actors in my life - Mr. Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Aamir Khan. He's my biggest inspiration," boasts the star.
The actor tells us that there is something which he has even extracted from Aamir's character in the movie as he says "His approach definitely is different but the way he is curious to know about his past, that hope which he has in his eyes… I am following that in my character, just trying to get that eagerness."
"There are two scenes that I really enjoyed doing. One was when Soni who has now come in the form of Bela comes in front of Jeet and he doesn't recognize her but there are some flashbacks…this was too touchy. Secondly during Soni's death sequence, Jeet tries to jump from the cliff," adds Romit.
Romit says he loves this new role. "It's a fantastic experience... This is the 1st time I am playing something like this."
