Firsty, a BIG THANK YOU for following up, leaving messages on and still having interest in this story!!

I have been missing for a while now, but hopefully I am back - and have a little trailer/teaser for you guys for what's to come.

Just as Geet took another sip, savouring the bittersweet taste of her coffee, she noticed Maan’s gaze shift over her shoulder. A subtle, almost imperceptible narrowing of his eyes.

“What is it?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

He leaned in, his tone low. “Don’t look now, but it seems we’ve attracted some attention.”

Geet froze, every nerve on alert. But Maan’s hand came to rest on hers, a calculated move that, despite its purpose, sent a surprising warmth through her fingers. “Stay calm,” he murmured, his touch lingering just a second too long.

“Who is it?” she asked quietly, maintaining her composure even as her pulse quickened.

“Journalist,” he said under his breath, "A persistent one.”

Geet’s mind raced. The last thing she needed was publicity on her already fragile situation—this contract marriage was supposed to be her shield, her temporary Armor against her aunt’s relentless tactics. Any exposure would complicate things further.

“Relax,” Maan murmured, leaning in, his lips almost brushing her ear.

Geet inhaled sharply, his closeness more intoxicating than she’d anticipated. But she forced herself to focus, reminding herself why she was doing this, “What do you want me to do?” she whispered, realising as soon as the words were out of her mouth, that it was an extremely stupid question.

But Maan did not seem to think so.

“Look at me” another low whisper, his eyes meeting hers with a depth that made her stomach tighten.

She blinked, masking her surprise, and gave a soft, almost bashful smile, letting her gaze linger on him as though they really were newly smitten lovers. She felt her cheeks warm, but whether it was from the act or the reality of Maan’s piercing stare, she couldn’t tell.

Maan chuckled softly, lowering his voice as he leaned toward her again. “Perfect. You’re a natural.”

Geet tilted her head, playing along, her voice a soft murmur. “Are you this smooth with all your… arrangements?”

His smirk was undeniable, though his gaze held a flicker of something serious. "Only the ones that matter”

Business, he was referring to business that mattered, Geet had to tell herself even as her heart did a strange little jump, and she had to remind herself to keep her guard up.

Whatever spark was flickering between them, it was best to keep it at bay.

This was business, nothing more.
