It's not easy to know what your heart is truly feeling, till the moment he again saw Geet he didn't knew he was in love. It just a moment to realize his leave and in next moment before he can truly cherish the feeling it was snatched from him.

True it's sad that when she her love was finally reciprocated it she couldn't rejoice it. She herself lived with pain for her unrequited love and when she could have her love she left Maan with same pain, maybe his pain will be more compared to hers as he saw her dying in front of his eyes in his arm.
