I noticed that you have put up several more chapters. Awesome. Now I need to hurry and catch up :-).

Ch4: Very well written. As a young teenager, Geet has probably not fully comprehended the possible consequences of her little white lies. All that she is thinking about is her sweet revenge. Where is that going to end up at? "Oh, what a tangled web we weave when we stoop to deceive!"

Ch5: The dynamics of teenage tensions and fights captured brilliantly. Geet -- see what your evasiveness and little white lies have led to? Camaraderie of the morning auto rides broken; sullen silence all around; mother-son spat; accusations and Maan behaving like the injured party!

Complicated. Young teenage girl, in all her innocence teases an older guy. He has self control problems and hits her. She lies to cover up her role in the whole thing. He gets a beating from his mom and is even more miffed. So who's at fault. Here's my take in a gist -- she might have started it but hitting another person is a total no-no (unless it's in self-defense against physical aggression) so Maan has to apologize. Which he did but seems, reluctantly.

Nilesh seems like a wise, older brother but teaching concepts of self-awareness and self-realization to a 7th grader? Good luck :-). Even adults, don't get it always :-).

I noticed, you have mistakenly labeled the chapter on page 7 as Part 8. Should have been Part 7 as there is a Part 8 page 8 too.

Chapter 6: This brought back such lovely memories of school days and of reading books beyond our ken and of parroting borrowed words and thoughts that made a deep impression on us or sounded impressive :-).

I love this Geet because she likes math :-). These seem like a brainy and studious bunch of kids. Securing medals in math olympiads! That is serious stuff.

I liked the way, the senior kids extended the olive branch to Geet and restored some of the old normalcy back to their auto rides.

Your comment about good and bad behaviour depending on time and circumstance is so dead right. I would also add life's experience to that list. These are just teenagers. How much have they experienced life's ups and downs to be able to moderate their reactions and interactions.

Chapter 7: Cocky, arrogant, presumptuous. All apt words to describe this smug and egotistical Maan. Will have to wait and see how he is brought down, many pegs from his high perch, in the future chapters.

Nicely described conflict of egos between the two of them and predictably, the outcome is not what they would like. And the chapter ended with her pushing him! Wow. They really do dislike each other intensely.

Chapter 8: Oh, the moral dilemma of those tension filled tests -- cheat (a little bit, not at all), how to react to others cheating (ignore, report), ....I liked that she went through that mental churn and finally decided to stick to her principles. So many times in life, we confront such dilemmas.

Chapter 9: He is impossible. Conceited and cheeky too. Borrowing her pencils without as much as "by your leave".

The scene involving his baby monkey drawing was hilarious and very well written.

Intriguing watch incident. If it was just to spite and distress her then he is really a terribly, low lying, mean spirited boy. I am curious though. She knew his address. A few days after she realized that he was not going to return her watch, why didn't she go over and demand it back or tell Nilesh or complain to his mother? Why did she bottle the whole incident inside herself?
