Location: Khuarana Mansion at 09:00a.m.

Maan met Commissioner Pradyuman and was returning when he found a childish banter going on between husband and wife i.e. Arnav and Khushi.

“Aap humesha, hum mein kyun faults find karte hain, Laad Governor?” (Why do you always find faults with me Laad Governor?)

“Aur tum humesha meri baat ko ignore karti ho aur phir hum dono problem mein phasatein hain, Jalebi Bai.” (And you always ignore my advice and then we both get into trouble, Jalebi Bai.)

“Why you.....Theek hai jeejaji ko aane dijiye hum swayam unse baat kar lenge.” (Why you.....Let Maan bhai come then he will only take this decision.)

“Please Khushi, bhai ko ismein matt involve karo badi mushkil se woh abhi-abhi sambhalein hain. Mai apne bhai ko khona nahi chahta.” (Please Khushi, don’t involve bhai in this as with great difficulty bhai has started getting relaxed. I cannot loose my brother.) Arnav said getting serious.

“Aap bina baat chinta kar rahen. Jeejaji ko kuch nahi hoga kyunki aap unke saath hain.” (You are worrying unnecessarily. Nothing will happen to Maan bhai as long as you are with him.)

“Kaise saath nahi deta, maine apni Babydoll ki kasam khayi thee.” (How can I leave him? I had promised my Babydoll to be with bhai always.)

“Dekhiye apne ko sambhaliye, Jeejaji aate hi honge agar aapka aisa maayus chehra dekhenge toh oh chintith ho jaayenge!” (Calm down! Maan bhai will be just coming, if Maan bhai sees your this depressed face he will worry.)

“Tum theek keh rahi ho. Chalo abb Bhai aur mera nashta lagao. Kya Dadimaa jaageen?” (Your are right. Get Maan bhai and my breakfast ready. Is Dadimaa awake?)

“Haan, Dadimaa ko humne unki puja ke baad hi nashta kara diya thaa. Abb woh vishraam kar rahi hain.” (Yes, I served her breakfast immediately after her prayers. Now she is resting.)

“Great. Kaash Dadimaa phirse pehlewali Dadimaa ho jaayen.” (Great. I wish Dadimaa transforms back into her old self.)

“Aap Devi Maiyya par vishwas rakhiye, Dadimaa zarur theek ho jaayengi.” (Have faith on Goddes Durga, Dadimaa will soon get better.)

“Khushi, patta nahi kyun mujhe bhi kuch dino se Bhai ki battaon par vishwaas ho raha ki Babydoll alive hai magar hum sabse door hai.” (Khushi, I don’t know why but since past few days I’ve also started believing Bhai that Babydoll is alive and living far off from us.)

“Kaash Geetu aaj humare beech hoti. Magar aap uski iccha ka samaan kijiye ki usne apne desh prem ke saamne apne pyaar yaani Jeejaji aur apne ajaname bacche ko khone ki bhi parvaah nahi ki.” (I wish Geetu was admist us. But we have to respect her wishes. We should praise her patroitism that for the sake of her country she was willing to loose her love I mean Maan bhai and her unborn child.) Controlling her tears Khushi guided her emotional husband to their bedroom.

Maan was realising in these past five years that any decision taken by any family member effects the whole family.

Krish Bhai had left for UK with bhabhi, Aryan and Sangeeta making their home feel as if its roof and happiness has gone. Dadimaa felt that confidante and her right hand has left her when Krish Bhai left. Maan felt that his Hero and role model has left him whereas Arnav feels that person showing him his boundaries i.e. discipline has left. Geet took with her the whole Khurana Mansion’s life and soul, as in each and every corner of the Khurana Mansion her essence is present in her memories. Thats why when Dadimaa had ordered him to stay in Khurana Outhouse he was looking forward to it. Whatever little bit happiness and liveliness use to be in Khurana Mansion has also left with Anuradha, Aryan and Sangeeta’s leaving. However, now overhearing Arnav and Khushi’s conversation, Maan decided to talk to Khushi later, when Arnav is not at home. But Maan first decided to go and meet his grandmother. Maan knows that although his grandmother’s voice has gone but she can hear and understand everything. Since the day Maan was forcibly made to do Geet’s last rites, his grandmother has lost her voice, her will to live is lost, but most importantly she refuses to look in Maan’s direction.Unable to bear being ostracised by his loved ones as well as Geet’s absence any longer, Maan had picked the habit to listen to the radio when he missed Geet a lot. Maan loved Geet and Geet loved singing, hence when Maan wanted to be close to Geet, Maan use to switch on the radio. Maan did same thing tonight and a beautiful song floated in the room in renowed singer Adnan Sami’s soulful voice,

“Tera chehra.........Yeh zameen rukh jaaye...........”

The song slowly soothed Maan as it was describing each and every feeling of Maan. Song was expressing what Maan was experiencing. The song was saying that even when the earth stops and sky becomes still, Maan will remember Geet’s face. If you give permission I will love you forever. Come and sit by my side so I can fill your essence in my soul. If you say I will bring moon, stars and sky for you. If you come to me I’ll give up my worldly comforts for you!

Neelakshi /Dee woke up late next morning as it was Saturday and it was her off day. Neelakshi was called “Dee” by her friends, batchmates and parents when they would pamper Neelakshi. When Neelakshi was young neither Neelakshi nor her classmate could pronounce her name “Neelakshi” or “Vasundhara” thereby her parents took letter “D” from Vasundhara and “EE” from Neelakshi and named her “DEE”. She had just finished her graduation in Architecture last year. Currently she is working for Sunshine Constructions (FICTITIOUS NAME) much against her father, Maharaj Vasudev’s wishes. Dee is working as a Junior Achitect in Sunshine Constructions. She had especially applied to this company as the owner, Mr. Steven Brown did not know her father either professionally or personally. Just then Dee saw a pile of old and traditional Indian fashion clothes (which had fallen last night from the loft cupboard) lying on the study table. She slowly started seperating them and folding them when she came across a book with a brocade cover on it. She kept the book aside deciding to read it at her bedtime.

Last night Maharaj Vasudev had called Mr. Baldev Chopra and politely but firmly asked him to tell his son, Raunak to back off and not interfere with Neelakshi or in her life. Mr. Baldev Chopra was taken aback by Maharaj Vasudev’s words which though very polite but had a definite underlying warning to it. Mr. Baldev Chopra had personally never met Neelakshi. Initially whenever he went to Rajawat House, Neelakshi was in University and in past year whenever he went she was at her work but he has heard rumours that she is a beauty to behold. Anyway the day after tomorrow he will finally meet Neelakshi as Mr. Chopra has been invited for a party in Rajawat House.

TWO DAYS LATER

January 2019

Mr. Chopra has been invited for a party in Rajawat House for the birthday party of Rajkumari Neelakshi Vasundhara Rajawat. Maharaj Vasudev had pulled all the stops and invited all his personal friends as well as business clients. Even his wife’s nephew (brother’s son) Yuvraj Udayveer Madhav Singhania was there to finally break the family fued between Rajawats and Singhania. Although Maharaj Madhav Singhania was a little hesitant to send the “heir” to the throne of Vijaygarh, but Udayveer sweet talked his father into it.

Mr. Chopra had arrived late and hence was not able to meet Neelakshi one to one. He saw her first time while cake cutting and could not prevent “MRS. MAAN SINGH KHURANA” slipping from his lips.

He remembers seeing her for first time in Mr. Maan Singh Khurana’s Wedding Reception. He had at once liked her seeing her simplicity and looking like a true traditional bride. Instead of now-a-days brides who look more like fashion models rather than brides! The way Mrs.......Geetanjali had talked to him and touched his feet had so much elegance, class and grace and reason for that was that she was....is a Princess. That imbecile son of his wants to marry Geetanjali, wife of another man. Not any ordinary man but the MAAN SINGH KHURANA!!

Location: Central Courtyard in Khurana Mansion, New Delhi

In Khurana Mansion, birthday of Geetanjali was being celebrated with traditional “havan”. Maan (after Khushi told him about Geet’s birthday) had invited anyone who was close to Geet and were her well wishers i.e. Krish, Anuradha, Aryan and Sangeeta; Munshi Bhuramal and his wife Mainadevi; CBI team i.e. Commissioner Pradyuman, Abhijeet, Daya, Poorvi, Chandramukhi Chautala, Romeo as well as Bajrang Pandey (Chandramukhi’s husband); Shambhu Chaurasia with his daughter, Lajjwanti. Daimaa or Hira Deviji’s whereabouts were unknown. Savitri Devi who refused to come out of her room, came out being told that it was Geet’s birthday today and a havan was being performed for it.

While havan was going on Savitri Devi’s thoughts went five (5) years back. Savitri Devi still remembers that Saturday “Shagun” evening,

FLASHBACK

It was “Shagun” evening, when Savitri Devi had come to Outhouse, to tell Geet all the pre-requisites she requires to do before her “Haldi” ceremony the next day and saw her dancing in her room in front of the mirror wearing the chunri which Savitri Devi had given her in the ‘Shagun’ thaal. She was dancing and talking to Maan’s photograph. Savitri Devi should have walked away given Geet privacy but unable to keep herself detached she hid from Geet’s sight and heard her melodious song and her carefree dance,

“Jaise Radha ne mala japi Shyam ki.......”

Throughout the song, Savitri Devi could feel Geet’s pure, unconditional and selfless love for Maan. The love which Maan had forgotten. Also he is no longer interested in ever falling in love. How can she bring Maan closer to Geet?

Similarly everyone i.e. Krish, Commissioner Pradyuman, Arnav, Anuradha, Khushi, Pinky, Poorvi, Chandramukhi etc. were thinking about their memories with Geet. Maan also went back into his memories when he heard Geet singing for first time much before they became one,

FLASHBACK

Maan had just returned home from work early and found melodious song coming from his room. He thought that maybe Geet is hearing a song on the CD. But Maan first time heard Geet’s melodious voice. Maan saw that Geet was dancing and singing to his baby photograph

in between looking in the mirror and blushing.

When male voice stanza was there in the song Geet looked at his adult photograph.
