CHAPTER 6
ALL THE NAMES & PLACES ARE FICTITIOUS (if any resemblance to persons & places is purely coincidental). Any royal titles, POLICE & LEGAL PROCEDURES, MEDICAL TERMS, MEDICAL PROCEDURES, RELIGIOUS TERMS, Punjabi terms, architectural terms, IT terms & programs, office hierachy, wedding rituals, etc. are from my imagination hence THEY ARE NOT TRUE. !!!!!
ALL THE PHOTOGRAPHS DOWNLOADED DO NOT BELONG TO ME BUT BELONG TO THE ORIGINAL UPLOADER. I HAVE JUST USED THEM AS THEY GO WITH MY STORY!
NEXT DAY
Location: STREE SHAKTI
Maan was in Stree Shakti waiting in the waiting room to meet Jagruti. Just then a girl of ten came near Maan and ordered, “Mr. Khurana, Geet didi kahaan hai?” (Mr. Khurana, where is my Geet didi?)
“Geet......”
“Haan Geet didi. Unhone kahaa thaa ki woh mujhe yahaan se bahaar le jaayengi mere Mummy aur Papa se milane.” (Yes Geet didi. She had promised to take me out of this place to my parents.)
“Beta, tumhara naam kya hai?” (My dear what’s your name?)
“Akaansha.” Just then Jagruti walked and the Stree Shakti head, Mrs. Zariwala cajolingly took Akaansha with her. Once they were alone, he asked, “Jagruti Beta, tum kaisi ho?” (Jagruti, how are you my dear?)
“Aapki kripya hai. Sa.......Baba, mhare bapu-sa kaise hain?” (I’m fine. Si.....Baba, how is my father?)
“Theek hain. Do hafte baad unka court ka faisla aa jaayega. Jagruti, mujhe kuch din ke liye office ke kissi zaruri kaam ke liye Amerika jaana hai. Agar tumhein koi bhi takleef ho toh Mrs. Zariwala ko batta dena.” (He is alright. After two weeks, court will announce his sentence. Jagruti, I have to leave for US for few weeks on an urgent official work. If you have any problem, inform Mrs. Zariwala.)
“Ji.” (Alright.) Jagruti was about to touch Maan’s feet when he stopped her saying, “Betiyaan pair nahi chhuteen.” (Daughters don’t touch feet.) Maan patted her head in blessing saying, “Apna dhyaan rakhna.” (Take care of yourself.) Maan went and met Mrs. Zariwala and asked her about the girl Akaansha.
Later in the evening Maan was missing Geet a lot so he played the same song which Geet had sent to him with her letter and a sweet voice floated,
“Tum mujhe yun bhulao naa paaoge..........”
(Movie: Pagla Kahin ka)

Maan has heard this song umpteen times and everytime the song wrings his heart and soul increasing his guilt and feelings of his self loatheness. Maan feels that Geet is singing her feelings only and only for Maan. She is saying that Maan won’t be able to forget her. Whenever he will hear this song he will remember her and find her (Geet) close to him. Maan should reflect on what he said in past, whereas Geet only wish was for Maan to talk to her. She always wished to open her heart to tell him her pain. Geet wished Maan would have tried and understood her silence. “I have spent all my life in your memories. I’ve been destroyed in your love, how much more will you destroy me? In my heart and my life there had been you and only you. I have yearned for you and only you.”

Khushi ran to Arnav, “Suniye, jaldi chaliye! Jeejaji phir woh hi gaana baja rahen hain.” (Listen, hurry and come with me. Maan bhai is again listening to that song.)

“Kaunsa gana?” (What song?)
“Wohi gana jo Geetu CD mein chodh gayee thee.” (Same song with Geet had left behind in the CD.)
“KYA? Magar maine toh woh CD destroy kar diya thaa.” (WHAT? But I had destroyed that CD.)
“Woh sab hummein patta nahi. Aap jaldi chaliye.” (That I’m not aware of. Please hurry!)

Arnav and Khushi entered Maan’s room softly

to find him sleeping with Geet’s dupatta around him and hugging Geet’s photograph in his muscular arms.

Seeing and hearing Maan’s shallow breath and his being in deep sleep, Arnav and Khushi left as softly as when they had entered.
Two days later, Maan left for US. On reaching US, he reached his hotel room and fell asleep. Later in the evening he went to the Seminar for Construction Companies. He was intrigued as an Architect to know what all developments are happening in the other parts of the world in the fields of Construction as well as Architecture.
Location: Banquet hall, a six star Hotel in Washington D.C.
On reaching the banquet hall, Maan sat at the table having his name and soon got busy with talking to other Construction Companies Owners. The sound of talking was reduced by an announcement made in a sweet melodious voice, "Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen! Sunshine Constructions are delighted to welcome our Contemperory Construction Companies from across the globe to Washington D.C.!" Hearing the familiar voice Maan turned in the direction of voice and sat frozen!

(please imagine a serious expression)
Maan was transfixed at seeing Geet, His Love, His Obessesion (Junoon), HIS WIFE MRS. GEETANJALI MAAN SINGH KHURANA ALIVE AND WELL! Geet had changed for the better i.e. she was now looking confident, elegant & classy like a royalty; and smart & efficient with professional attitude like expected from a professional. Her attire was oozing of wealth i.e. simple but expensive precious jewellery and

best business clothes from world famous International designers.

Except her face nothing else resembled his Mishty. She had become extremely beautiful more than before. Because now her facial beauty was not only natural but all her best features were enhanced with beauty skills at her disposal and her figured emphasised by well tailored and well fitted Westernized wardrobe. Her small and delicate feet were enveloped in designer medium height heels.

It felt that if Geetanjali was a precious diamond with rough edges at the corners, the girl standing in front of Maan today looked like precious diamond, with high carat value, well polished and well cut set in one of most precious Cartier rings! After all now she was Rajkumari Neelakshi Vasundhara Rajawat.
Neelakshi continued, "Our Chairman of Sunshine Constructions, Mr. Steven Brown would like to welcome you all by saying a few words!" There was a round of applause from the Construction fraternity gathered there. Neelakshi got off the dias spoke to a young lady standing nearby, Jennifer. Soon the speeches and welcome were over! Mr. Steven Brown and Mr. Jeremy Jones (FICTITIOUS NAMES) were going to each table to welcome their guests. Neelakshi was nowhere in sight.
Maan was restless to find His Mishty therefore went out the banquet hall in search of his love. He had reached where the washrooms were located while deep in his thoughts. When he heard raised voices, “Mr. Black, kindly leave my way otherwise I will not be responsible for my actions.”

“You a...a...are so b...b...beau..ti...ful Dee, p....p.....please s....s....spend the night w....w....with me. I...I..I’ll make you very h...h...hap...py.” Mr. Black slurred which ended in a big hiccup due to the effects of too much alcohol.
“Rodney Sir, Mr. Brown is waiting for you in his cabin for a meeting. Please follow me.” Jennifer tried to distract him.
“I d...d...didn’t c...c...come to m...m...m..meet that looser, B...b..Brown. I c..c..came to m...m...m..meet my b...b...beau..ty and w....w....will h..h..have her.”
Before the fifty year old drunkard could leap in Neelakshi’s direction, a body builder kind of man blocked his way. “Bhim Singhji, aap jaante hain kya karna hai. Agar hummein apni naukari ka dhyaan nahi hota, toh iss ashishth vykati ko din mein aise tare dikhate ki yeh aisi ashishthaa kissi aur yuvati se karne se pehle dus baar sochta. Khair, aap jaante hain Bhim Singhji aapko kya karna hai. Hum pitahji ke paas ghar jaa rahe hain.” (Bhim Singh, you know what needs to be done. If it didn’t concern my job, I would have shown him the consequences of his disgusting behaviour. So that he would have thought ten times before keeping this disgusting proposal in front of any girl or lady. Anyway, you know the procedure. I’m leaving for home to be with father.)

“Ji Rajkumari-sa.” (Yes Princess.) Bhim Singh bowed respectfully and Neelakshi walked away with her head held high and a dazed and confused Jennifer following her.
Maan was seeing this from a little distance away and was highly impressed that His Mishty had become so confident and fearless. Brave she always was even five years back. However its true that in this Geet (Neelakshi)’s behaviour there was nothing similar to His Mishty. Geet was always timid, scared and dependant whereas now is she confident, fearless with ‘I don’t care’ attitude. Maan saw that by now the body builder kind of man had thrown the passed out drunkard on his shoulder in a fireman fashion and left the area.
