Mr Raheja is a paralysed man and had a son who is too much spoiled. He wants his son to learn his responsibilities for which he chooses geet for him. At starting I thought maan would be his son as his name was not mentioned... But take another angle..

Nice start. So Raheja is impressed with geet as she saved him from falling. He wanted her to be his daughter in law in order to change his son habits. As per research he knew that geet is living with her uncle and aunty and he will easily convince them. Missing maan in this part.
