Part 72

She looks at Akhil quizzically

Akhil looks at her pointing to the food on the table and that he wants her to feed him like she used to do earlier

She looks down and lifts a bite of food and places it near Akhil’s lips

Akhil devours the morsel slowly licking her fingers

Maan is witnessing the scene silently with a clenched jaw

His fingers are itching to get hold of Akhil’s neck

Akhil is gleefully looking at Maan with corner of his yes trying to gauge is reaction

He is patting his own back for crushing the rebel in that peasant Maan’s attitude and behavior

Akhil is happy that he is able to show his real place to Maan

Akhil continuous discussing the project while ignoring Geet feeding him, like its normal

Geet finishes feeding him

Maan manages to be composed and not move during the whole time

Geet was walking near the deserted stairs of the office

When she feels a sudden pull and finds herself in Maan’s arms hidden under the isolated stairs

Nobody would be able to see them here

Maan gently holds her face between his hands and kisses her gently

He holds her hand and goes to kiss each of her finger with one by one

He whispers after a while when he done, directly looking into her eyes

She could witness the hatred gleaming in his eyes

M- I hate him so much!

She looks at him dreamily

She was with a man who cared for her so much that one bad behavior from the world on her was affecting him more than herself

She gets out of her thoughts realizing its getting late

G-Maan, I am fine. Don’t worry

He nods moving away

Geet and Maan get back to the work

She reaches her home after work and completes her chores

When everybody is asleep she gets under the sheets and calls back Maan who had called her a while ago

She whispers over the phone stealthily conversing talking to him while her family sleeps

They have whisper phone conversation till late in the night

She goes to bed with a satisfied grin on her lips

The week goes by usually

Akhil is back to her demands and Geet is back to her duties

She did not speak at all with Maan in the office

The weekend arrives

Geet’s mom sees her getting ready

Geet mom-Kahan jaa rahi hai?

She asks in a surprised tone as Geet usually never went out on weekends apart from doing family chores or helping out Akhil

Geet- Wo bass friend se milne jaa rahi hoon

She shrugs

Geet mom- Kaunsi friend?

Geet- Wo hai nai Mann-nnat…Mannat meri friend usse. Meri college friend….yaad hai naa

Geet’s mom frowns trying to remember

Geet- Acha bye maa. Main chalti hoon

She walks out off the house hastily

She takes a cab

Cab driver- Madam kahan jaana hai?

Geet- Apko location diya hai naa

Cab driver- Par wo toh highway ke beech mein hai,madam

Geet- Haan wahin jaana hai

Cab driver is puzzled

Geet- Aap chaalaaiye please. Late ho raha hai
