The Illusion
"Are you my friend, a six year old girl asked a boy looking at her . "Yes I am."Will you leave me like others did, she sobbed . "No matter what happens you will always find me by your side, he smiled gently . "Really, the little one asked unsure . "Yes."So what should I call you, she queried . "M, he said . "Hi M I am Geet. The little one was overjoyed to have a friend for herself .
18 years later
A young girl rushed for a job interview . "I really hope I get this job."You will , don't worry , came that voice . "You came , I can't believe you came after so many years , you said you will never leave me, she complained . "I'm always here Geet and didn't you say something about an interview,He distracted her. "Oh yeah I forgot, bye see you later, saying this she rushed, making him only watch her retreating figure. "Geet when ..., He thought. Geet was overjoyed to look at the building ahead of her . "It looks great , I hope I get this one, She prayed . She entered the building but something is off she noticed but still she proceeded to the place where the interviews were held . Geet was selected for the post . She returned home happily , "So did you get the job. She turned hearing his voice, "You came again , I'm so happy . Yes I did. "I'm always with you Geet , He said . "You did not come to see me for years. She pouted. "I will never leave you now, He said. "Well I will see to that, She grinned. "So how was your interview, He asked. "It was great, I'm confident I will get it, She said. "Sure you will, He smiled.
As the fate would have it Geet was selected in her interview and wanted to share it with him. Over the years she understood that M was no imagination of her but a real person but how he used to get to her she could not still get that. "So now happy, He asked. "Very, She grinned. "So when are you joining, He asked. "Tomorrow, She said. "Great, then all the best for your first day, He said. "I'm a bit nervous, I heard the boss is very strict, She shared her fears. "I'm sure you will do just fine, He said.
Geet took a deep breath and entered the huge building once again but this time as the Interior Designer in this prestigious company. The receptionist called the peon who guided her to the floor where only three cabins were present. He guided her to her cabin and told her never to enter the cabin beside her as it was the boss' cabin. After an hour she was called by the boss. She entered nervously and found a man looking out of the window with his back towards her.
"Miss Handa, Am I right, She heard his deep voice. "Y..Yes Sir, She stammered. "There are some blue prints on my desk, you have to complete them by three days...am I clear on that, The young man said. Geet went towards the huge desk where she found them. "I will try my best to complete them Sir, She said.
"Not try, Miss Handa I want them completed in that time...Maan Singh Khurana does not like slackness and will never tolerate it, do you understand, He thundered. "A..Alright Sir, She said scared with his loud voice. "Good, now back to your work, Maan ordered. Geet quickly ran out of the door. "You should have told her the truth Maan, how long will you keep hiding, He turned to see his friend and confidante Saahil there. "And tell her that all this world around her is a lie, Maan said. "One day, she might understand, Saahil said.
"I know Saahil but you know this is our only chance to bring her to consciousness, this world her invention created...I want my Geet back Saahil, He said helplessly. "I understand, my friend. She has been like that for 28 days now...and here she is living a different life...may be a life she wanted, Saahil said. "Will she be fine Saahil, Maan again wanted a confirmation. "Yes, my friend, I assure you that, He consoled his friend for the umpteenth time.
Geet cursed her new boss for the umpteenth time who has loaded her with work right on her very first day. "What happened, She heard his voice. "I'm stuck with this pile of files as Mr Maan Singh Khurana does not like slackness, She spoke sarcastically. "So not liking the new boss are we, M smiled.
"This man is an alternative form of a raging demon, how the hell can I do it in three days, She said frustrated. "Want some help, M offered. "Ah no, we are friends but if I take your help that would be cheating and I don't like to cheat, Geet said. "Now that's the spirit my friend...give it all you can, He smiled. "Thank you, I feel much better talking to you, Geet smiled. "I wish you were my boss instead, She said in a flow catching him off guard. "Hmm...really but who knows I turn out to be more strict than your demonic boss, He jested. "Nope, no one can be that bad, She cursed him again. He smiled looking at her dedication. "You were always this dedicated Geet..., He thought.
Geet was back to the office the next day completing her work. She submitted it to Saahil. Saahil smiled to see her but was saddened as they were still working on ways to get her out...it seemed like something was keeping her there but what they were trying hard to find before that day came. "Miss Handa, your work was really good, so for the upcoming project, I will have you assist me, He said.
"Thank you Sir, She was happy that her hard work paid off but still unhappy as that boss of hers always faced his back towards her.
She complained about the same to M,"Can you imagine that demon applauded me for my work but really he should have some manners, he applauded me with his back towards me...may be he is ugly. "If he hasn't faced you how can you say he is ugly, M chuckled. "Well it is because he is hiding ...if you are ugly you don't want people to see you right, She gave her logic. "Geet...I wanted to ask you something..., M said. "Alright, what is it..., She said looking up to him. He so much wanted to ask her but the doctors have warned him against it , so he let it go. "Nothing..., He said. "Where do you come from M, She asked him startling him with the question he always feared she would ask. "What..., He asked looking up to her. "I mean ...you are not my imagination ...but a real person ...I was curious as to know your whereabouts, She finished. "I..I am from ...let's say...forget it ...I will tell you everything ...do you trust me, He asked. "I do ...more than anyone here I do trust you...you are all I have...a friend and a family, She said. "Your trust is all I need Geet, never stop that, He said.
A week later, Geet went to her boss' cabin. "Sir, I'm here to submit my work you gave me three days back, She said. "Keep it on the desk, He said in the same bossy tone. She nodded and left to her cabin. She found one of the pages of her project still on her table which she forgot by mistake and just made a dash towards his cabin again almost barging in but what she saw made her rooted on her spot...the man in front of her ...her boss was the man she trusted the most and in a state of shock she could only utter... "M.
Maan looked up shocked to see her there, "Geet wait...I can explain. "Explain...really...so this must have been fun for you right...to make fool out of me and here I thought you are the only person I could trust, She cried. "Maan she is becoming unstable..., He heard a voice. "Geet, please dear calm down...please I can't lose you again, He said helplessly. "Lose me ...really you should have thought of that before you pulled this prank on me, She said. "I'm ready for anything if it means to save you get it, He said losing his cool. "Save me ...from what, She asked. "From your impending death Geet...you are not in a real world Geet, this is world created by you...by your invention Eutopia..., He said. "What do you mean...who are you, She said. "I'm your husband Maan Singh Khurana and you are my wife and the greatest inventor of the future Dr Geet Khurana, He said shocking her.
So here is the first part, I'm sorry for the delays but I'm held up with settling in a new place ...I will definitely complete all my stories though the updates will be slower
