Falling for you 3 Maan and Geet
Needless to say this is GF and I'm a Maaneetian, so naturally they are my favourite couple. I absolutely adored how they went from being strangers (well in Maan's case hate) to actually husband and wife, and boy are they cute and coming across as a lovely couple. I love that they are so in love. However they are yet to know more about each other, and lack what Vicky and Meera share; time and understanding. I won't say it isn't there of course it is, like how Maan was sharing his past and Geet cutting him short due to the pain, or now where Geet is staying away from his relatives after the words of war lol. So yes it is there, but at the end of the day it is an arranged marriage hence that level of understanding and knowing will take time to grow. Maan is yet to share Geet's adoption truth, and might I add I hated Geet's family and loved her mother for the love she bestowed over her beloved child. For me birth parents are not everything, adopted parents and foster carers are equally loving. When one thinks of a mother, they don't character her as biological or not but count the level of love she gives, and righty so. However I too am aware of the complication and questions that comes with adoption etc. I love what Rano and Geet share, and it was during this time that my heart took a U-turn for Maan. Prior to that I was like what a arrogant piece of sod lol but after Brij and defo Rano, I'm like my hero lol.
They are very different characters, but what they share was probably stemmed from the pain they endured hence it was it easy to relate to one another because somewhere they past is similar, both where required to grow up quicker than expected and conform into a being so dissimilar yet familiar to themselves to protect themselves from the hurt and pain. I.e. like Geet turning silent to the point of mute to prevent any further physical damage, or Maan turning rude to avoid human contact. Dadi mad alike the best decision to get them married.
They have sure come a long way, the way Geet was so sacred and frightened just by his mere shadow to now loving and caring for the same Maan. I understand Maan's stance too, though maybe not mighty happy about it lol, don't entirely agree to his all women are cheating c**ts' theory lol but none of the less still very fond of his character. He is a man of decency, elegance and straightforwardness. This Maan is one of my favourite's characters wise, so the effort he put in afterwards in trying to know his wife. And without saying much Geet for sure is my favouritest lol
What they share isn't anything unique, however where they have come from is. Not all arranged marriage starts with a broken mute girl and a hurt rude Maan. I like the progression they made, it wasn't quick and loud but rather slow and breezy, and that's what worked. You have given it thought and built the characters as required, hence when they did fall in love it seemed natural and almost expected. Even when they become one as husband and wife, it was rushed. As a girl I thought it made sense, I seriously don't believe in the theory of his your husband so he has rights etc, but mind soul and then body. So only when Geet was truly in love and convinced did she move forward in their relation and same with him, and that for me was beautifully told and naturally expected.
I like how now they are countering their problems i.e. Maan convincing Geet to use their money, yes I understand her apprehension considering what he said and also her reluctance to fully depend on him in a way. I like her character and I like his approach with her, finally I liked the end product of her using their money on their family but not on him. Both their points are valid, he earn for his family which include her and she earns and no using would only result on cash build-up. More recently I loved the comeback she gave his cousin, of him not being a ATM machine because most of his cousins defo perceive him as one. I for one like him for showing his true from to those pathetic cousins, say it like it is. They are only interested because he's rich. But also understood Geet's point of trying to be civil at the end of the day, people would speak ill of her and dadi's choice. But didn't they speak anyway? Jealousy is probably the root cause of the problem. However her answering back showed her love and more her power in the house, finally she is breaking out that shell. I wish to see her answering more confidently and maybe not hiding away next time. But it is a trait that runs in me too, after a snappy (bitchy) comment I too tend to avoid cousin and people lol. So I'll mark that as human tendency and not character, maybe lol.
I can't really add to them much, you have written them so naturally so beautifully. Maaneets journey is what that makes this FF stand out, I loved their story, I loved them. I loved this FF, it defo belongs in my best list, and I can't really apologise enough for not coming sooner. Although when you reposted I vowed to myself to comment and then got busy in other things, hence I am sorry. However this was one story I was always planning to read.
If the others were cute and electric, then these two are natural and committed. I love the innocence, the purity in their relationship. They are such well thought out characters, and their love story is unique. Might I add Maan adding Dr Nikita's clinic shows much much they moved forward in their relationship. I so so so love this couple, so perfect for one another, mature yet subtle, fun yet toned, and perfect forever perfect.
Totally cherished their first hug, though maybe a spur of the moment but it was so beautifully written and one that actually was needed to show the changing dynamics and the growing feelings. They hadn't apologised or quickly slipped away either rather marked that as a huge stepping stone in their relation, then came the kiss after months and again it evoked true feelings of love and care. I love how steady paced their story is moving.
Loved the ring and Maan's answer to baby questions, what is to people anyway. Even their honeymoon period was one of discovering, they forever keep learning of each other and that is what I love about these two. However they still need to know more i.e. the awkwardness after Geet monthly cycle declaration, though not surprising but still there's so much more for them to discover about one another, and for us to read of them more. I surely do love these two.
Thank you very much for writing this FF, shall be back with more comments of the different relationships in the FF be it Maan-Dadi-Geet or Geet-Vicky-Maan etc.
