Its simply fabulous that Maan already had spoken to Antara

I admire that he always puts his daughter's well being before anything

and wow Antara accepted Geet as her mumma so easily and whole heartedly

making Geet comfortable too

and the fact that even Geet thinks about Antara and not breaking her heart was so

I was not a regular reader of this story,but sometimes ago in 2018 ,I come across this story because of its name and it gives a different feel ,just loved it,

part 17

"why did we come to mall?"

geet asked as they moved towards the lift after parking up, all through the way Antara was talking to her non stop, telling her everything about her room, her school, her teacher, friends, papa, badi dadi, Annie aunty, Ritwik and then again her Color books, toys, and she finished with her new dress and hair clips.

geet thought that Maan was silent more than usual throughout the drive, maybe he didn't want to interrupt between her Antara or he took offense when she shifted to back seat, she should ask him about this later.

"I thought a day out would be good because Antara won't be okay if I take her home now and leave you at yours."

his responses were also clipped and to the point. Kahin wo mujhse naraz toh nahi? she was also unsure because she told Anjali di that she will be back by lunchtime.

"kya hua geet koi problem hai?"

"wo I didn't say at home about spending the day out."

"no problem call now"

when she was still hesitating he said that he will call Raj uncle while both of them move to food court and order something.

"mumma I want a happy meal"

Antara demanded as soon as she saw the big M of McD.

"let's go sit there, we will wait for papa then order."

she agreed easily after all she can't show her true colours to her new Mumma on day one, what if she also leaves her.

Maan came back shortly and he successfully distracted her from fast food saying they should let mumma decide what to eat today. from there they went to game zone and Maan gave free rein to Antara by heavily loading her game card and she was off playing her favourite games as Maan Geet sat there in a table keeping one eye on her.

Initially Maan was annoyed at geet, obviously for making him a driver but then he forgot everything when he saw geet and Antara interacting on their way to the mall. geet was a very patient listening to antara's stories and also laughing and tickling her. he remembered he's been here before, he'd spoiled his engagement day being annoyed by things that didn't matter at the end, and he was not a man to repeat his mistakes. He wanted to enjoy this day with them. But there was a pressing matter that needs to be addressed right now.

"geet do you know how to drive"

that was one strange question thought geet, not only it was sudden but out of context too.

"yes, but it's been long that I've driven anywhere"

she answered him and left her questions invoiced. maybe he'd explain.

Maan on the other hand was relieved, he made a mistake today but she could’ve handled if something went wrong.

"Would you like to drive or you want me to hire a driver?"

did she just think he'd explain her, well he was only making her more confused if that was possible.

"err .. where am I supposed to drive to?"

"oh I'm sorry. I meant that I was going to buy a car for your use, I needed to confirm if you need a driver too, If you want to go anywhere. When I went to pick Antara I left the car on neutral, and I was scared for a moment because I didn't know if you know how to drive."

Oh my god. What is this man? when did he become so far sighted? and he was buying a car for her? where did that come from?

"but you must be having spare cars at home surely"

"yes but they might be otherwise occupied, I don't want you to want you to wait what if it’s an emergency?"

right. if he's not going to let me wait then suggesting use of public transport is out of question. he's become such a control freak too. she rolled her eyes mentally.

"let's do one thing I'll hire a driver for now, since it's been long that you drove, then after a couple of months you can decide you want to keep him or not."

great, am I supposed to even voice my opinion or he's just going to decide everything on his own. I mean why ask then?

she just nodded her head, she didn't mind people deciding for her, that's been happening all her life and she was okay with it by now.

"papa mujhe toys Lena hai."

they were interrupted when Antara came after she's had one go in all her favourite games.

"are you done playing?"

Maan asked because he wanted to spend more time with geet, she didn't even talk he was speaking all the time she just shook her head.

"I want toys first then ice-cream then game. no dress then game."

"alright come."

then they visited some shops, and when they were having ice cream someone tapped on geet's shoulder.

"Anjali di?"

geet was surprised to see Anjali di there with Karan, Maan ordered more ice-cream for them and took the kids to table so that they can sit and eat not spoiling their clothes.

"Maan called me to join you guys. I think he wants kids to be friends."

geet smiled. she was very happy that Maan thought so much about her, it would be great if kids would get along together. she will also get to see Karan often. she along with Anjali also joined the kids who were now fighting for the ice cream flavours.

"papa mujhe ye yellow wala chahiye"

she saw Karan having mango Flavour ice-cream, it was very bright and attracted her compared to her strawberry.

"par princess you always have pink no, so papa got pink one for you."

"nahi nahi mujhe yellow...”

and she tried to snatch it from Karan who was taller than her hence held it up out of her reach.

"Karan give it to her, you are a big boy"

"but Mumma this is mine. and I want pink also".

and he too tried to snatch antara's ice-cream who held it behind her back, away from his reach. then they both came to geet asking her to tell off the other one.

Maan suggested that he'll buy more for them but geet stopped him.

"no Maan they will just waste it. let me talk to them."

she then told them to give her both their ice-creams. they hesitatingly handed theirs because they liked geet and trusted her too.

"okay now you both will get ice-cream when you become friends."

they both looked at each other, then their ice-creams in her hands. Karan never refused geet plus he wanted his ice-cream and more while Antara had already decided not to be stubborn on her day one with her new Mumma.

"okay ma"

"yes Mumma"

"come on shake hands and tell your names"

"Antara Khurrana"

"Karan Sahay"

and they shook hands and maan and Anjali looked on amused.

then both together said ice-cream.

"yes now you are good boy and good girl you will get ice cream"

"I want yellow and pink"

both said together again and then glared at each other hearing what other said.

"wait if you do what I say then you both can get yellow and pink ice cream"

they looked at her with big eyes like she was going to do some big magic.

"see like this"

she took a spare cup, divided both the ice-cream into half and exchange one half from both the cups and gave them one cup which had half mango and half strawberry.

they both had big smiles started eating without further fuss. by the time they walked out of the mall both kids were happily chatting about their toys and friends and school. Anjali had got a call and excused them and Maan found a moment to praise her.

"that was a very smart move geet."

not only did she resolve their fight and made them friends she also taught them to share and not waste, she was a wonderful mother to both Karan and Antara. geet smiled, blushed a little at his praise.

"Karan chalo let's go."

Anjali came and held his hand who in turn held geet's.

"ma chalo"

he told her and geet was about to move too but Antara held her hand.

"hey ye meri Mumma hai ye tumhare saath kyu jayegi? and don't call her ma, ye sirf meri Mumma hai"

"no ye meri ma hai aur ye mere saath Rehti hai toh wo mere saath jayegi."

by now Antara was in verge of tears. she ran to Maan and hugged him, till now her concentration was on ice cream so didn't pay attention to what Karan was calling her Mumma but now that he mentioned she will go with him she was scared to lose her new found mumma all over again.

"papa Karan Ko bolo na ye meri Mumma hai aur mere saath jayegi, uski Mumma toh wo dusri aunty hai na"

Maan was at a loss of words as to what to say. he'd wanted to introduce kids so that they can be friends, he also invited Annie with Ritwik but she couldn't make it today. but he never thought this complication would arise, he looked at geet and Anjali not sure what would be the right thing to tell the kids.

geet was also at a loss of words, she couldn't break heart of one kid for the other, since he'd started speaking Karan had only called her ma, and she would never be able to gather enough courage to call her otherwise.

she was lost in thoughts and rooted at her spot seeing Antara crying and Karan pulling her to go back with them. that was when Anjali stepped in.

"Karan... you cannot call her ma."

geet was brought back by this she looked at Anjali shocked.

"but I always call her ma"

"that is because when you were small you could not speak 2 words together but now you are a big boy"

She explained him gently not to break his little heart. he nodded but he still had a doubt while Antara now came out out of maan's embrace when she heard Anjali telling him not to call geet as maa, she was now listening minutely as to what she says

"then what do I call her?"

"you call her Masi"

"Masi?"

"yes it is like ma and it is bigger do you like it?"

he nodded and was satisfied because it was not very much different. he hugged geet and said Masi.

"papa what is Masi"

Antara asked Maan not understanding the conversation, though she was okay with her friend calling her Mumma as Masi but she was curious.

"Masi means sister of Mumma"

Maan said absent-mindedly, he was also confused as geet was technically Karan's Maami. seems like geet also had same confusion.

"but di, I am not..."

"geet you know why I never corrected him to call you Mami before? because you have always been his mother as much as me. I let him call you ma but now that right belongs to Antara. and I have always considered you a sister more than a sister-in-law so I want him to call you Masi, you don't mind right?"

Maan smiled at their bond as geet nodded no. then he looked at Antara and picked her in his arms as she still looked upset.

"what happened princess"

"papa who is my Masi?"

it seemed like a cool thing to have and she also wanted one. Maan scratched his head, just when he thought his problems are going to end, something new comes up.

geet and Anjali also turned hearing Antara.

"I am your Masi beta"

Anjali came closer to Antara and caressed her head with a smile.

"sachi aunty?"

little girl's eyes lit up at the mention and she stretched her arms asking Anjali to take her.
