What the f**k just happened?
Maan happened that's what. Oh f**k he knows where I work now.
Two years ago I escaped hoping I could just forget my past and move on. I thought I'd be able to forget that I had a man named Maan Khurana in my life.
But no one could really forget a man like Maan Khurana.
"Dammit" I curse seeing all my paperwork scattered on the ground. I lower down to my knees to gather together, I scowl when I see a few of my papers near the shoe of the person whom I assumed bumped into me. I look up and glare.
"Mind moving your feet seeing as you're not going to help asshole!"
He blinks and looks around as if he just snapped from a day dream or something. He looks surprised possibly curious as to why I'm on my knees. Shit does he...
"I'm not on my knees to blow you if that's what you're thinking" I glower.
"That wasn't what I was thinking at all" He crouches down and helps grab the rest of the paperwork.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't looking..." he passes the paperwork.
"You better be sorry asshole" I mutter.
"For such a pretty face, you've got some attitude" he stands at the same as I do.
"If jerks like you stopped staring down my chest then maybe I wouldn't have an attitude" I shrug.
I expect a rude comeback, probably an asshole comment or even him calling me a bitch. I'd heard it all.
He doesn't do any of that, instead he throws his head back and laughs.
I frown, I didn't know if I should be angry he was laughing, be pleased he wasn't being rude or wonder why he was laughing.
"Maan Khurana" he holds his hand out once he stops laughing.
I look down at his hand and raise my brows.
"C'mon angel I don't bite"
"My name isn't angel" I bite out.
"Name should've been angel" he responds winking at me.
"If you think for a second you're going to get me to say yes to whatever you're itching to ask, forget it" I cross my arms in front of myself ignoring his hand. "You're not getting my name"
"Smart and sexy" he chuckles shoving his hands into his pockets.
"Get a life loser" I roll my eyes and turn away.
"Hey angel, at least give me your name"
"Name this" I flip him my middle finger and walk away.
"What?" Natalie sits up gaping at me. "You flipped off like such a hot guy"
"Yeah I did" I glance over my shoulder. "He was a jerk"
"No, you make him sound like a jerk. He sounds hot and sexy" she says with a dreamy sigh. "You could've given my name and my number. I'd have love to..."
"Nats! You're meant to be my best friend"
"I am your best friend but still you should've gotten his number" she snags up her bag. "Ready?"
"No I'm not going anymore" I look away chucking down my gloss.
"Geet Anjali Jasmine Malhotra don't you dare throw a tantrum" she wags her finger at me.
"Don't ever imitate my mother again. You're crap at it" I laugh.
"I can do your mom well" she sticks her tongue out.
"Yeah whatever you say" I slip into my black leather jacket and follow her out the door.
"I still can't believe you said no to such a hot guy"
"You haven't seen him" I remind.
"Someone you describe as tall, midnight blue eyes and dark hair, they're always handsome unless you're Simon Williams. He's got the money an all but not the looks. God bless his parents" she cackles.
"Despite all his money, at least he isn't a jerk" I nudge her. "Leave the poor guy alone, what's he ever done to you?"
"Nothing. Just saying" she holds her hand up.
"Jacqui is going to kill us" I tell her as we arrive at Jacqui's house.
"I'm blaming you" she tells me entering first.
"Sophie" Jacqui throws her arms out.
"What the f**k?"
I didn't say that to her, I said it more to myself as I gaped with my jaw dropped at the stranger that I'd bumped in.
"Angel" Maan strolls over casually smiling.
"Did you invite the asshole?" I glare at Natalie.
"Holy f**k, this is the asshole?" I was sure she was drooling.
"Very rude angel" he steps forward invading into my personal space. "I gave you my name and you called me an asshole" he tuts.
"That's because you're an asshole" I retort crossing my arms in front of me. "What the f**k are you doing here? This is my friend's house party"
"Jacqui is my second cousin" he replies grinning widely. "And damn she never let me meet her friends before" he stares me up and down.
"My eyes are up here" I nudge him when he lingers on my breasts.
"Mmhmm yeah" he nods lifting his head. "And what beautiful eyes they are angel" he lowers his head.
"Aid leave my friend alone" Jacqui tugs on his jacket pulling him away.
"Now I know why you didn't let me meet them" he chuckles.
"I didn't call you, go find Veer or something" she gestures.
"My brother can look after himself" he answers and turns to me. "Someone else could do with looking after - she's going to need it" he says to Jacqui.
"Oh really?" I intervene raising my brows.
"Gee..." Natalie steps forward.
I ignore her and throw a mean punch across his jaw.
He stumbles back cradling his jaw and groans. "f**k!"
"I can handle myself" I grin when he straightens up.
"You could've just said that" he mutters rubbing his cheek.
"You wouldn't have believed it, so I thought I'd show you. I can show you another trick that I do with my knees and high heels"
"It's okay" he winces staring at my heels now. "I'm going to find Veer" he continues to rub his jaw as he walks away. He stops and glances over his shoulder. "I'm going to get your number Geet Jasmine Malhotra" he winks.
How the f**k did he get my name?
That was the first day I'd met Maan Khurana, I attended college with his cousin and he'd come over to their house to spend summer with his brother.
I learned that he lived with his grandma and his younger brother - Veer who was 16years old at the time.
I avoided going over to Jacqui's house knowing he was going to be there but our first meeting still replayed in my mind.
Maan Khurana was unforgettable with his dark shaggy hair that curled by his nape, midnight blue eyes that I often lost myself in and those dimples in his cheeks etch themselves into your mind after one meeting.
I saw dimples a few days later when he came to pick up Jacqui from college.
"Your cousin isn't mentally unstable is he?" I look at Jacqui seriously.
"Why do you ask?"
"Is he or isn't he?"
"Maan likes you" she sighs. "He can be a little pushy when it comes to... wanting something or someone"
"So he's unstable"
Jacqui laughs shaking her head. "No, he's... he's a brilliant guy once you get to know him" she informs.
"Don't think I want to get to know mental case"
"Who's mental case?"
We both jump, shriek and turn around scowling.
Dimples.
He'd dressed down today, dark jeans with a black t-shirt and a leather jacket. He hadn't styled his hair like the first time I'd met him, it seemed shiny and silky. If I hadn't disliked him, I would've considered running my fingers through, his hair looked so soft I was almost jealous.
"Hey angel" Maan smiles.
"Hi dimples, how's your cheek?" I ask sweetly.
"It's doing okay, it would be doing better if you kiss it better?" He pulls his sunglasses off. Damn you world, why is he hot for?
"With my fist or my foot?" I question ignoring my thoughts.
"With these" he was fast but I felt it. His rough fingers brushing against my lips. Within I felt something tremble.
"You both need to get a room" Jacqui speaks. I look away from him clearing my throat, his eyes were still on me though. I could feel it.
"I'm just waiting for angel to say yes"
"Which I'm never going to say" I retort narrowing my eyes.
Maan smirks. "Whatever you say angel" he chuckles. "C'mon Jacqui" he turns around.
"He's a mental nutcase" I tell her as she laughs and follows him.
"You like this mental nutcase" Maan calls out as he reaches his car.
I flip him off and storm towards my car.
I don't like the mental nutcase!
He's mental.
He's a f**king nut.
And he's so damn hot.
