TWO DAYS AFTER GAYATRI HAD FAINTED
Location: CAPPACINO, CAFE IN A SIX STAR HOTEL. Wednesday, 3:00pm
A lady was sitting and waiting at a secluded corner of the cafe surrounded by flowers, trying to hide from other guests seated in the cafe. But a beauty as hers could not be kept hidden for long and men slowly but intentionally were passing by her table to and fro like moths fluttering near a flame. Her natural facial beauty was attracting men even without much make up. Her beautiful white printed crepe silk saree was clinging to her each and every curve making her look very alluring and enticing.
Her long hair tied in French roll
would have given viewers the look of her smooth curvacious milky white velvet back had it been bare but it was well covered by a pretty white lace blouse and hence only translucent glimpses of her back could be seen.

Although she was covered from top to toe but men will be men who will never give up a chance to seduce a young woman! She had come to meet a gentleman and wanted to keep this meeting as private, confidential and discreet as possible. But due to her beauty she was getting undue attention, she knew now that this meeting will neither be private and confidential nor discreet! She finally had enough and had just picked up her clutch to leave, when the gentleman she was waiting for arrived. The gentleman was smart and astute, and at once guessed, what was the problem. So as not to divulge the woman's identity he said, "Ma'am I'm sorry to keep you waiting but as our conversation is private and confidential, I suggest we go to some other place." Then he glared at men loitering near the woman's table and placed a guiding hand on small of her back making sure that the men understood that she is his and only his! He slighly urged the woman out of the cafe and guided her out of the hotel.
AN HOUR LATER
Location: PRESIDENTIAL SUITE, KHURANA HOTELS NEW DELHI
"Mr. Khurana, thank you for coming to my rescue. I had never thought that at such reputable and well known hotel, my dignity and honour will not be safe."
"Ms. Ranawat, you don't need to apologise. It was due to my being late that you were subjugated to this humiliation. Unfortunately I was detained at my previous meeting." Seeing her pale and hollow cheeks; and fraile body Maan asked, "How is your health now Ms. Ranawat?"
"Not too good. Sorry to disturb your meeting but I could trust no one but you to keep my this personal and private secret."
Seeing Gayatri's weak and shivering state, Maan asked, "What would you like to have? Tea or coffee?"
"Black coffee please, no milk and sugar."
Maan ordered two black coffees and one plate vegetable sandwich and one plate pasta.
Once Maan had placed the order, Gayatri was contemplating how to start the conversation and thus fiddling with saree's palla. Maan was taken aback seeing her this habit being so similar to his Geet. He took Gayatri's hand in his which was playing with her saree's palla and said in a soft tone, "Tum mujhse jo chaho beijhijhak keh sakti ho." (You can tell me anything without any hesitation.)
Gayatri stood up and walked towards suite's window and said with a wobbly voice trying to control her tears, "Mr. Khurana, I have an illness which is uncureable. If I don't do as doctor's say I can never become a mother."
"What do you mean?"
"My biological clock is ticking. My womb has severe infection and has to be removed within a maximum of five years. Doctors are suggesting that I should concieve soon if I want to experience motherhood." Then Gayatri got lost in deep thought until Maan said in his deep baritone voice, "So?"
"As I neither have any boyfriend, fiancee or husband and nor do I have any intention of getting married, I would like to request you to donate some of your "sperms in form of semen" so that I can concieve by "invitro fertilization" which is also known as "test tube baby"." Shocking Maan to silence. "Mr. Khurana, you needn't worry. No one beside doctors and two of us will know about this. You will not have to own the baby in front of your/my family and society. Hence whenever you get married, there will be no problem in your marital relations!"
"But why me?" Maan stood up with a hardened emotionless face and walked towards the other part of the room with his back facing Gayatri.
"Because you are a consciencious, honest and a trustworthy man. You are a man of principles who will stick to your word and will not try to take advantage of me. But if you are not comfortable with it, I understand. I'll try through some other source, because..." Suddenly there was a thud.
Hearing the thud, Maan turned to find Gayatri collapsed on the carpet. Maan quickly ran to her and carried her to the bed present in the suite. While making her lie on the bed, something came out from under her saree palla. Something which Maan never expected a woman named "Gayatri" to have as it belonged to one and only one person in this world, HIS GEET! Maan wanted some answers and soon either from Gayatri or her foster parents, Mr. Ram and Mrs. Priya Kapoor.
Maan made a call to Dr. Sudha Raghupathi and then to RNI head office. Dr. Sudha Raghupathi entered the Presidential suite along with Meera, Diwan Girijashankar, Rishabh and Vicky. Rishabh and Vicky were representing Khuranas and Meera and Diwan Girijashankar were representing Ranawats at a meeting in RNI when Maan's call had come. Meera started narrating to Dr. Raghupathi all what had happened two days back? She also mentioned Dr. Subhalakshmi examining her. Dr. Raghupathi shooed all men out and let Meera stay back. Dr. Raghupathi asked Meera to dial Dr. Subhalakshmi as she would like to talk to her regards her findings. After half an hour, Dr. Raghupathi along with Meera came out. "Mr. Khurana (looking at Rishabh), I believe Mr. and Mrs. Ram Kapoor will be arriving tonight from US. Hence, I want Mr. and Mrs. Ram Kapoor, Garima, Meera and Dr. Subhalakshmi in my cabin at Khurana Hospitals at 10:00a.m. sharp tomorrow. Presently the patient, Ms. Gayatri Ranawat is conscious and can go home."
Meera went in and brought Gayatri outside supporting her and covering her with Meera's stole but Gayatri was feeling very weak and swaying, hence, Maan scooped her in his arms and carried her to the car. After seeing the Geet's possession with Gayatri he had full reason to be close to her (according to Maan). Meera, Diwan Girijashankar, Rishabh and Vicky followed Maan. Before Meera could sit in the car, Rishabh said, "Meera beta, apne Mom aur Dad se kehna ki Khuranas unse jald se jald milna chahte hain. Unse kuch zaruri baat karni hai." (My dear Meera, please ask your Mom and Dad to meet Khuranas as soon as possible!) Meera nodded affirmative, sat in the car and left with Gayatri and Diwan Girijashankar for Ranawat Mansion.
NEXT DAY
Location: KHURANA HOSPITAL, NEW DELHI, Thursday 10:00 a.m
As requested by Dr. Sudha Raghupathi, Ram, Priya, Garima, Maan and Meera were waiting outside Dr. Raghupathi's cabin. Garima had just introduced Maan & herself to the Kapoors when they were called by Dr. Raghupathi.
When five adults entered the renowed Gynaecologist cabin Dr. Subhalakshmi was already present. After Garima had introduced Kapoors to Dr. Raghupathi. The renowed doctor started, "I would request men to leave for sometime." Once Maan and Ram had left, Dr. Raghupathi continued, "As some you are aware that Ms. Gayatri Ranawat is not in the best of health. Gayatri is suffering from what is called "Endometriosis".
"What is "Endometriosis"?" Garima asked.
"Endometriosis is a medical condition that occurs when the lining of the uterus, called the endometrium, grows in other places, such as the fallopian tubes, ovaries or along the pelvis. When that lining breaks down, like the regular lining in the uterus that produces the menstruation, it has nowhere to go. This causes cysts, heavy periods, severe cramps and even infertility." "Doctor is there no cure for this?" Priya asked.
"Unfortunately there only one cure but its an extremely drastic step."
"What is the drastic step?" Garima asked.
"Her womb or uterus has to be removed."
"NAHI!" (NO!) Priya exclaimed. Meera tried to calm her. Once calm, Priya said, "But she is so young doctor, she has not even had a baby!"
"Yes I know. That's why I've told her, that she should think about getting married soon and concieving. Actually, I wanted to tell you all this earlier Garima when Maan had called me first time to examine Gayatri but I got caught in my work."
"How long can we delay the surgery?"
"Ideally we would advice as soon as possible but seeing her age and family situation I would say that 'at the most we can wait till she turns around 30'." Dr. Subhalakshmi answered.
Soon Dr. Raghupathi called the men in and said, "I would suggest as a family you all sit together and make a decision thinking about all pros and cons regards surgery. Also the time frame when you would like her to undergo the surgery?"
"Doctor won't there be hormonal changes in her body due to surgery?"
"Thats why Priya, Dr. Raghupathi is asking you all to consider each and every aspect of surgery before taking this bold step." Dr. Subhalakshmi said.
Just then there was a knock on Dr. Raghupathi's cabin, indicating that doctor is needed by her other patients and its time to vacate the doctor's cabin by Khuranas and Kapoors!
