Part One
Clive Law and Business Center Junior Girls' Hostel, Gandhi Nagar, New Delhi:
A young beautiful 17 year old girl was slowly walking towards'
the warden's office. She looked a bit nervous and stood quietly
outside near the chairs after knocking the door softly.
Warden: " Come In"
Girl: Opening the door goes in, wishes warden by touching her
feet respectfully.
Warden Ma'am in a happy tone: "Bas bas gumaan beta, bahot
khush raho. Batao, kaise aaye aap? Kuch baat karni hai?"
Gumaan Khurana: "Please Ma'am, mujhe aap ki permission
chaiye. I want to return home. Mai apni family ko miss kar
rahi hoon.
Warden was somewhat shocked to see gumaan's state so she
blinked and said, " Sure beta. Mai documents bana deti hoon."
After 20 minutes the procedure was completed and carrying
her suitcase, gumaan walked towards the stairs, her close
friends rima and anju with her.
Rima: Gumaan, are you sure, warden ma'am ko ye nahi
batana chahiye?
Gumaan: I have no options, mujhe apni ye problem ghar jake
hi solve karni hogi. At least, waha i won't be alone.
Squaring her shoulders she hugged both her friends and they
departed after gumaan boarded her car. She had already
informed her family about coming home.
Khurana Mansion, Sainik Farms, New Delhi:
Maan and Dadaji were bit worried about gumaan. It was
really weird that she wanted to come home leaving the hostel.
They knew that she always loved boarding schools and hostel
life schedule, but now, she was somewhat sad there, was
confusing for them.
Geet and dadima along with adi and pinky were in the city's largest mall, shopping for gifts. They were absolutely thrilled that now gumaan would stay with them, and wanted to welcome her with surprises. They always wanted her to stay with them, but she was really stubborn, so they weren't able to change her mind at all until now.
Gumaan came out of her thoughts as her car entered the huge airy driveway and the driver said, " Babyji, ghar aa gaya hai."
She thanked him and two guards came forward to take her luggage. Leaving them to bring her things, she headed straight to the first floor study, where she would find her father and great grandpa.
Maan and dadaji were playing chess when the door opened and their baby walked in. They quickly got up and gave her bear hugs, making up for all the time they spent without her. Breaking the hug, they looked at each other. Just then, dadaji saw that gumaan wasn't her usual cheery self. Her smile too, didn't reach her eyes. She was probably troubled by something.
Perhaps she too had missed them badly, he and maan guessed. They went to her bedroom with her, where she sat with them resting after freshening up quickly.
Maan noticed that his girl was unusually quiet, it was quite unlikely for gumaan as she was a junior geet, a chatterbox in all ways. Such a long silence in her nature wasn't normal, so they decided to break the ice a little.
" Kya baat hai beta, aap itne khamosh kyu ho?" Maan asked gumaan as dadaji caressed her head while she lay on his lap.
"Dad, maine aap sab ko bahot miss kiya, mujhe ab hostel acha nahi lag raha thaa. Isliye main wapas ghar aa gayi.
"Acha kiya puttar, hum sab bhi aap ko bahot yaad karte rehte hai. Ab aap hamare saath hi rehna." Dadaji was happy that partner in crime was back, so he could sneak treats out from the freezer the way he liked, without anyone daring to object him.
Maan tried to ask her some more things, but saw that gumaan was deeply asleep, so he and dadaji too had a quiet lie down.
2 hours later, everyone was enjoying evening tea with gumaan's fav. snacks to celebrate her return. It wasn't until post dinner walks that gumaan was alone, so once back in her own room, she sat in the balcony, brooding over the shocking and ugly truth she'd discovered just a week ago.
It was impossible for her to believe. Had it been a nightmare, or a mere misunderstanding?
But she was in her proper senses when she heard her own brother say such dirty and blasphemous things against her.
Her ears were surely not deceiving her, were they?
Was she really wrong to trust her older brother Armaan blindly?
Was he no longer her brother, but a hunter who was waiting for her to fall in his trap?
Was she really nothing other than a prey for him? Did he really intend to fulfil his friends' lusty fantacies by handing over his innocent naive sister to them for that sinful pleasure?
Tears trickled down her cheeks as she recalled that unlucky day last week, when she overheard her "Bhai" talking to his friends inside the boys' common room. They were lodged in the adjacent boys' hostel dormitories during their term time.
"Wow yaar, tujhe to bollywwod mei hona chahiye thaa. Kamaal ki video graphing karta hai tu, ooohhh, such an erotic shot man!"
This was andy, armaan's closest friend, good-for-nothing, idiotic spoilt brat, same as their group.
"Of course man, just look at gumaan, she looks soo sizzling and delicious. Delicate slender body, poori foam mei covered hai.
Yaar, ye shot capture kaise kiya tu ney?"
This was asked by Rony, who was a drug addict, and spent his time loafing around.
Holding his handy cam open for his friends, armaan was drowning his whisky can. He was completely indisciplined and out-of-bounds now, no longer the same innocent boy who once loved his sister with his life.
"Guys, itna bhi mushkil nahi tha. Maine bas bahana banaya, ki gumaan ki bathroom mei lizard hai. Main usko maarne ke bahaane se andar gaya, aur chup-chap window sill ke upar, ek shelf par handy cam ko rakh diya.
Uske baad ka ye khoobsurat sa nazara, tum logo ki aakhon se ke saamne hai"
Armaan was shamelessly priding himself with the fact that he had recorded his sister's shower moments with his cam. What an irony! the boy who was supposed to protect his sister from the big bad world, was openly flouting the sacred relationship and ready to offer that innocent soul to these wolves.
These wild dogs wanted to devour that angel, to tear her bit by bit, to kill her innocent soul.
As she remembered those dirty gossips and her brother's betrayal, gumaan dipped her head in her knees, hugging them close to her little delicate body.
Her soft form shook as she sobbed her heart out, letting her anguish escape in the form of tears.
So people, shocked to read it, right? Yeah, i know i am being really rascally cruel this time. But this is one of the untouched realities in the society, and i want your noble opinions in this view.
Friends i have changed the words slightly. I put in society instead of india, as kiran di suggested. Because more than india, this issue is serious in the western countries where relationships aren't so strongly bound by family ties.
So please like and comment, me waiting besabri se.
