CHAPTER 21

Location: CHAIRMAN/MAAN'S CABIN, KHURANA CONSTRUCTIONS, MUMBAI
It had been a week since Chadda's threat and Gina's angry outburst, Maan waited patiently but Gina never came to his room alone. So, today he was in determined and in no nonsense mood and ordered Meera, "Meera, please send Ms. Gina Branganza alone to my cabin as I want to see how much progress she has made. You are leaving for Delhi this weekend so I would like to know how much she can handle? I would also like Adi and you to come in after half an hour with Malhotra Costructions accounts file; and past and present projects done by Malhotra Constructions."
Gina entered the room in her formal business outfit looking extremely elegant and alluring.
Maan had started to harden just by seeing her but controlling himself he said, "Ms. Braganza please sit down lets start the meeting." Once Gina sat Maan started questioning her about the project and then asked her to explain what according to her is wrong in the blueprint and how can they rectify it? Gina relaxed and started explaining. Maan got up and slowly went around and stood behind Gina's chair as if he was seeing the blueprints but Maan was busy inhaling Gina's aroma and admiring her figure.
Once she finished talking he said in a seductive and drowsy voice near her ear startling her,"Tum chahe kitne bhi bhes badal lo magar tum meri Anjali ho. SIRF MERI !" (You may disguise yourself as much as you want but you will always be my Anjali. Only Mine!)
"Aap bhool rahe hain Sir ki Anjali shaadi shuda hai aur aap bhi!" (Sir you are overlooking a fact that both of us are married!)
"Mere baare mei bahut jaanti ho. Kuch khaas wajeh?" (You seem to know a lot about me. Any special reason?)
"Haan! Jab hum kissi ko Military protection dete hain toh uske baare mein poori khabar rakhte hain!" (Yes! When we are sent to protect someone we know everything about them!)
"Aur kya jaanti ho mere baare mein?" (What else do you know about me?) Maan questioned and Gina stated all his superficial qualities and then paused. "Yeh toh har koi jaanta hai!" (These things everyone knows!)
"Sir aap ne mujhe apni baat khatam nahi karne di. Aapka favourite colour White hai. Aapka sabse favourite khanna Pasta nahi magar aapki Maa ka banna sarson ka saag aur makke ki roti; aur Geet ki banni Black Coffee jo aapne kabhi bhi admit nahi kiya jab tak woh jeevit thee. Aap bahaar se bhalhe hi rough tough angry youngman dekhte hain magar andar se aap ek bacche hain jo apne maata-pitah ke pyaar ke liye taras raha hai. Aap ko jhoot aur dhoke se sakht nafrat hai, magar aap ko abhi tak mann mei gilaani (guilt) hai ki aapko apni Patni Geet se sachai bataaye bina zabardasti shaadi karni padhi. Aur abb aap ko yeh gilaani naa toh sone deti hai aur naa pyaar karne! Kyunki aap kaheen naa kaheen apne aap ko Geet ki maut ka zimmedaar samajhate hain." (Sir you did not let me finish. Your favourite colour is White. Your favourite food is not Pasta but sarson ka saag and makke ki roti made by your Mother and Black Coffee made by Geet, which you refused to admit when she was alive. To the world you may seem rough tough angry youngman but in reality you are a child wanting your parents' attention. You hate lies and deceit, but could not prevent yourself from marrying Geet deceitfully under pressure! This guilt torments you in night as well as your love life. Because somewhere you consider yourself responsible for Geet's death!)
"Tumhei yeh sab kaise maloom? Yeh sab baatein koi nahin jaanta siwaye mere parivaar yaa mere. KAUN HO TUM?"(How do you know all this? No one knows about these things except my family. WHO ARE YOU?)
"Aap apne dil aur atith mei jhaankar dekhiye, aapko jawab mil jaayega. Aap mai chalti hoon sir." (If your look inside your heart and past, you will get all your answers! Now I shall leave.)
After Gina left Maan was in deep thought with and this sentence echoing in his brain, "Aap apne dil aur atith mei jhaankar dekhiye, aapko jawab mil jaayega." Adi came in the room and saw Maan holding his head lying on the floor, he got alarmed and immediately called the doctor. After doctor examined Maan he said, "Does he suffer from high blood pressure?"
"Yes Doctor. He was admitted to hospital for few days about four years back."
"Anyway, please get these medicines for him. Let him rest for a day or two and I suggest you contact his cardiologist."
Adi was surprised to see Gina waiting outside. As soon as he came out she pounced on him, "Adi Sir, how is he? What did the Doctor say?"
"WHO?"
"Maan Sir. Tell me please, what did Doctor say?"
"Doctor has said there is nothing to worry. Maan Sir's blood pressure has slightly risen so he has prescribed medicine and rest for couple of days!"
"I know that my presentation was soo bad that his blood pressure rose. I'm cause of his ill health."
"No Gina, it has nothing to do with you. It was just that he has been over worked due to this merger!"
"Adi Sir, please give Maan Sir, Mausambi (Sweet lime) juice or tender coconut water."
Next morning, Mrs. Kulkarni, Romeo, Gina and few of office staff came to Maan's hotel suite to ask how Maan is feeling? Maan was about to have his breakfast and was still in his track pants but he was extremely touched by their care.
When all the staff of Khurana Constructions left, Gina stayed behind and shyly gave Maan a packet and followed her team out of the room.
When Maan opened the packet, he saw a pashmina shawl for men with a note saying,"Aasha karti hoon ki iss shawl ki garamahat ki tehara aapke jeevan mei priyajano ka pyaar humesha banna rahe. (I hope the warmth of this shawl fills warmth in your relationship with your loved ones.)
