PART 9. MAAN FINALLY SAYS I LOVE YOU

Maan drove towards home with a smile on his face. Only 2 months left! 2 months before our first wedding anniversary comes up! Maan sighed and remembered their marriage. 10 months had passed since the day he got married. So many things had changed since then. His love life went through many up and downs. First Geet had demanded divorce at the first night. Then he had decided to fight for his love. So many plans made to woo his wife! And then he had left her alone for few weeks only to come back to a wife who had missed him. And then the night came when she had confessed her love for him. That was also the night they had consummated their marriage. As Maan thought of those moments, a certain regret popped up in his brain. Don't take him wrong! He didn't regret his married life. What he regretted was that he had yet to tell his wife that he loved her.

Yup! You read it right! Maan Singh Khurana had yet to tell his wife the three magical words. They had made love, been together for so many months and Maan Singh Khurana had yet to say those words! But that doesn't mean he never showed it through his actions. Everyone who saw Maan and Geet together could tell that Maan was madly in love with his wife. He was highly possessive and overprotective of her, always attached to her hip and whenever away from her, his eyes always searched for her. Yes, the world knew that Maan loved Geet like crazy. But did Geet know? Maan was not sure! He knew he showed it through his actions but sometimes actions weren't enough, Maan felt. But what was Maan supposed to do? He just didn't get the right moment to confess.

Maan mused that he could have confessed it on the night Geet confessed too. But at that time they were lost in the moment and Maan never had the time to remember that he had yet to say I Love You' back. Next day he remembered the fact but he never could find the right moment to say it. Before Geet and Maan had even got up, his family had arrived back home. The rain fall on the night before had turned the grounds around their farmhouse into muddy areas and going out to picnic there was not feasible. So the whole family was back before Maan could even wake up his sweet wife with a kiss and an I Love You'. And since then Maan had yet to find a private moment to confess his feelings. It is not that there was no private moment for him and his wife. Its just that any private moment he got, the family barged in before he could even kiss his wife, forget expressing his love. And in nights, he was too lost in her to remember that he had yet to say certain words.

Maan sighed as he drove towards home. How stupid does it sound? He married his wife 10 months back and its been months since they got together but Maan Singh Khurana had yet to express his feelings to his wife. Pathetic! Fun fact was that Maan was not the only one who thought the whole situation was pathetic. Geet thought the same.

Geet sighed as she folded the clothes. She had gotten a news recently that should have made her happy but all it seemed to do is make her sad. Two days back, Geet had fainted in kitchen and NT and Daadima had taken her to the Doctor, both worried for her. When the Doctor expressed that Geet might be pregnant and to get the requisite tests done to confirm the news, NT and Daadima had decided that they would keep this news from the menfolk of the family till everything was confirmed. NT had two false pregnancy symptoms and Daadima didn't want Maan to face the same disappointment that Dev faced the two times. So Geet had to keep the possibility of being pregnant from Maan till everything was confirmed. But today it will be out. Daadima had gotten the call in the noon that Geet was pregnant and now Daadima and NT sat in the main hall eagerly waiting for Maan to arrive so that they could tell him right away.

Geet had decided to not stay in the main hall. Daadima had wanted her to deliver this news to Maan but Geet had refused. NT commented that Geet must be feeling shy and Geet didn't correct her. So when the time for Maan's arrival from office came, Geet snuck into her room under the pretence of folding dried clothes. The reason Geet had refused to stay in the hall was that she was scared of Maan's reaction. What if he was not happy with their baby's arrival? They hadn't discussed babies. Forget babies, Geet, huffed, Maan ne toh mujhe I Love You bhi nahi kahaa! Geet heaved a sigh and focused on the clothes. As she folded the clothes, she felt sadness overwhelm her. Geet had never felt this uncertain as she felt today. Her heart was filled with fear for her future. Somedays, Geet felt Maan loved her; especially when he showed it through his actions like bringing her flowers or trying to keep her safe by sticking to her side in parties. But the three magical words were never said by him! And till he said that, Geet knew the confusion and uncertainty hanging over her head would never go away. Maan if you love me, let me know! Khatam kardeejiye yeh confusion aur mera yeh darr! Please Maan! She prayed as she did everyday. What Geet didn't know was that today her wish was going to come true!

"Kya?", Maan looked at his family in shock. Daadima nodded eagerly while NT looked excited. Slowly a grin spread on Maan's lips. His wife was pregnant! They were going to have a baby! He was going to be a dad and Geet was going to be a mom! He hugged his Daadima and then NT in excitement. Then he looked around with happiness, "Geet kahan hai?" Daadima chuckled, "Use sharam aa rahi hai isliye woh upar chupi hui hai! Tum dono ke kamre mein! Jaao! Usse mil lo!" Maan didn't need to be told twice. He took off from there in a run, climbed the stairs and stumbled into his room. There his wife stood, in front of the window looking out of it, her whole body tense. He took in a deep breath as he stepped forward. He slowly walked towards her. She straightened up and he realised that she had sensed his arrival. He walked towards her gently. The excitement left his body and bliss took its place. He felt content with his life. He had successful business, a beautiful wife who loved him and now he was going to have a family of his own too. What else did he want in life! He reached Geet and enclosed her in his arms from behind.

When Maan hugged her, Geet relaxed. If he hugged her that means he was ok with the baby. She closed her eyes and leaned on him. Her body sagged in his arms and feeling his strong arms engulf her gave her a sense of peace.

Maan felt his wife relax totally in his arms and suddenly the moment seemed perfect for expressing his feelings. He slowly leaned down and whispered, "I Love You Geet!"

Geet's eyes snapped open. And then a grin spread on her lips. She closed her eyes again as the weight of uncertainty and fear lifted from her shoulders. Suddenly, the restriction she felt due to her confusion and fear was broken and she felt like a free bird.

Maan smiled as Geet snuggled into his arms. Yes! Life was perfect!

Err... That sounded a bit less excited, eh? But what to do? I have read enough stories where the guy goes gaga over his wife being pregnant and lifts her up and dances around etc. that I got bored of them. So gave them something simple. And with this ends the story. Next update we have the epilogue! Keep an eye open for that. After all, it is the link to the sequel Band Baaja and Maan.

Sweet update. Maan was as restless to say ILU to Geet as she was to hear it from him 😆 Loved the simple way he confessed and her all insecurities flew away.

woe, maan was yet to confess that he loves geet n in these 10 months didn't find any perfect moment.. but what can be more perfect n special than knowing that they are gonna be patents..
