It could have been a second or an eon could have passed.

None of the pain he had unleashed on her mattered in that moment.

In her innocence, she had not yet learned how to "unlove" someone.

Sometimes it takes a few days or months and sometimes it takes a lifetime to forget that person and move on.

She had only but had two days. How was it supposed to undo the feelings of years?

She took his hand in hers and opened the ointment tube but was startled when he threw the tube from her hand behind him.

Taking her left hand in his, he checked the wrist which still bore faint marks on it.

As she raised startled eyes to his eyes full of immense pain, she realised he knew.

He knew!

She shook her head as if to undo the knowledge.

She had never wanted his pity.

She was not an object for his charity.

"Maan!" the urgency of the voice calling out for him startled them both.

Geet's eyes widened as she saw the person approach Maan and she stepped back from the circle of light to blend into the shadows.

"Aur Maan? Usse main kyun na gussa karu? Kyu usse ghar main wapis le lu? Uss ne tumhare saath jo kiya uske baad .." Daadima asked, not understanding Geet at all.

"Kya galat kiya hai? Unse meri beizzati bardasht nahi hui thi. Wo nahi chahte thay ki main sadak pe aa jau. Na chahte huve bhi, meri khatir, mere family honor ke khatir unhone mujhse shaadi kar li. Main unse shikayat kyu karu? Isse badi kya misaal hogi dosti nibhane ki?" Geet asked turning away.

Maan had thought her as a friend. Was it his fault that she had thought otherwise? She had no one to blame but herself.

Daadima rolled her eyes heavenwards.

She thought to herself, I taught you many lessons in life Geet and you learned them all so well.

This time I am going to teach you something more.

A lesson in self respect, a lesson on learning to put yourself first and a lesson in getting what YOU want out of your life.

Geet is in Indian Paints with a bad boss! But Pandeyji doesn't yet know who the big boss is. If Dadima comes to know how he is treating Geet, that will be his last day on job!.

Diwali party at KM and geet in red dress. They both looked so good in that scene in GHSP.

Maan remembers Geet's Diwali wishes of past.She had her priorities straight, even then.

She stands in front of him with Aarti thaali but only his harsh words echo in her mind. But still she is not able to take his pain. She runs with ointment for him. She is really so naive and innocent.
