🤣 . Omg omg omg... This is awesomee dear.. Everybody so caring abt geet surely got on her nerves 😉 . Well what can they do its jus that pregnant women r always treated specially. Absolutely loved it. And pinky is the best feather in the hat eh can come up with wierder ideas than geet. Really rab ne banadi friends. And I am seriously waiting for more maan and hos interaction with geet esp now.. Will be waiting...

Hi guys 🤗 Thanks a lot for your amazing feedback on the previous update. Here goes the 4th Chapter 😃 I was planning to update tomorrow, but since I've typed it already I thought of posting because I won't be much available in the weekend 😆

Baby on board - Chapter 4

I just couldn't believe that. I just have collided with him. MR. MAAN SINGH KHURANA! Oh god no!

'Geet? are you okay?' He inquired. I was trying to get on to my balance.

'Uh.. yes.'

'Are you sure you are okay? He asked me again.

'Uh.. yes sir I'm fine.'

'Geet! where the hell were..' Pinky came running towards me & noticed sir. She was shocked to see him.

'Uh.. sir.?'

'Seems like the best friends have come shopping' Maan sir winked.

'Uh.. yes sir.. for Geet!' Pinky grinned.

'But your friend is careless. She is out of the world!''

Why sir what happened?' Pinky asked Maan sir with confusion.

I glared at Pinky. She asked what's wrong in just expressions.

'She is acting like a child though she is about to give birth to a child soon.' He gave a sarcastic smile.

'Geet?' Pinky was awaiting for a reply.

'Sorry sir. I didn't see you coming. I was on a phone call.'

'Oh. But why not care about yourself? Specially when you are.. pregnant?' He stressed on the word pregnant. What is he up to?

'I know Geet!' 'You love bumping in to people. Remember how you bumped to be like a idiot on the first day itself?

I recalled the memories. I started feeling nostalgic. Why do I even feel like that? Hell it was an accident!

'Umm.. sorry sir. I will be careful from now onwards.'

'You better be! By the way you guys here? Not surprised though'

'Umm yeah sir. Geet wanted to buy something so we came here.'

'Oh seems like shopping for the baby so early huh?' He winked at me.

I just can't understand his actions. I feel like he has sensed something on this fake pregnancy. May be he is trying to figure out the truth. I can't reveal the truth at any cost. Should keep this under wraps. My pregnancy phase will conclude with according to Pinky's plan.

'Sir ? surprised to see you here.' Pinky came up with the best question. Is he following me or what? God please help me.

'Well actually I came here to buy something for my cousin sister. It's her baby shower tomorrow.'

'Oh is that?' Pinky grinned & nudged me. We exchanged a confusing look. Why did Maan sir come to this place? He would have obviously gone to an expensive mother care stall at a big shopping mall. Why did you choose this ordinary shop?

'Umm.. Geet if you don't mind can I ask something?' Maan sir popped up a question.

Oh god what is he gonna ask? Please somebody save me! I chanted.

'Geet?' He raised her voice.

'Sir?'

'Could you please help me in finding something to gift my cousin?'

'Uh sir?'

'I mean you are also expecting & you must surely have an idea what would be gifted in such an occasion.'

'But sir? me?'

'Yes. Pinky, you can join us as well.'

'Uh sir. I'm late already.' 'Mom must be waiting for me sir.'

'It's okay. How about you Geet? You can come right?'

'Sir?' I was helpless. Oh god! Pinky please save me I prayed.

'Sir! she is also getting late I guess.' Pinky came along with an answer to save me.

'Geet please, do this favor for me.' 'I can drop you at home. Don't worry.'

God why are you so cruel? Why do you always put me in to trouble? I couldn't say no to Maan sir. I didn't have a reasonable excuse. I couldn't lie. Already a lie has got me in to thousand troubles. I just don't wanna mess up the things again.

'Then okay sir. Will help you.' I agreed. Pinky widened her eyes with with surprise. I winked at her signaling that I will manage.

'Okay let's go.' Maan sir held my hand. It was the first time he held it. Officially! Our bodies have collided numerous times, me bumping to him like an idiot. I felt so special. An unexplained feeling troubled me. The touch boosted dreamy feelings.

'Geet?' Maan sir raised his voice. I came back to normal.

'Uh sorry sir. Let's go.'

'Bye Geet. Take care!' Pinky bade good bye to me & waved her hands till she went away from my vision.

'Such a crazy girl! She is waving you like she is gonna see you for the last time.' Maan sir chuckled.

'What sir?'

'Hurt?' 'I mean I didn't want to hurt you. Just look at your best friend she is acting so stupid'

'That is why she is my best friend' I smiled.

'Haha that's a good point! Too much crazyness' Maan sir chuckled.

Then he accompanied me to the shop. I kept praying silently to prevent me from getting in to another huge trouble.

We roamed inside the shop. 'Oh what a beautiful couple' I heard somebody whispering at us. Couple? Hell! this is getting out of control. Do we really look like a couple? We are poles apart. These people are unaware about the truth. Who would believe us as a boss & a secretary? That too inside a mother & baby care shop?

Maan sir wanted to buy clothes for the baby & some toys. He asked me to pick some pink baby items. He was totally clueless what to buy.

'Sir if you don't mind asking, why only pink?'

'Because girls like pink!'

'But sir?' I wanted to bombard him with a questionary but I stopped midway. I didn't want any trouble. Geet! you better behave yourself. I warned myself.

'Geet you lack common sense! It's gonna be a baby girl.'

'Oh. But sir, how do you know?'

Maan sir glared at me. Geet! Keep your mouth shut & pick whatever he wants. I warned myself again.

'Should I tell everything you in detail?'

'Errm'

'My cousin sister underwent a Sonography test last week & the doctors confirmed that it is gonna be a baby girl.' Maan sir replied me with a bright smile. Seems like he is so happy with it.

'Sonography? what is it?' I popped up a question. I couldn't control my curiosity.

'I'm surprised Geet. Don't you know?' He spoke in a surprised tone. Oh crap! you should behave like you know everything Geet! I scolded myself back.

'A sonography test is where they use reflections of high frequency sound waves to construct an image of a body organ, in other words a sonogram. It is commonly used to observe the foetal growth.'

'By that you can check baby's gender.' 'So they have confirmed that it's a baby girl'Maan sir explained everything like an expert in medicine. Whoa! how does he know all these things?

'Oh that's great to hear. Congratulations sir.' I replied him with a smile.

'Haven't you done a sonography test'? He inquired.

'Um.. not yet sir. But I will do, soon.' I lied.

'After 4 months you can check baby's gender.'

'Oh yeah sir.' I nodded.

'Geet, if you don't mind asking whom do you like your baby to be? A daughter or a son?'

What a question? Hell I haven't even thought! It's like asking whether you want a brother or a sister in childhood. My sister Muskaan has already made me to hate baby girls. I've gone through a big mess & been fed up as an elder sister in my life. I don't have any experiences with boys, may be they are better than girls in a way.

'Umm.. a boy.' I replied with a fake smile.

'Haha like typical moms' He smiled.

'Sir, how is this?' I showed him a cute little sweater that I had just found. It was pink in colour & tiny flowers were crocheted in purple color.

'Beautiful.' He took it and rubbed it gently.

'So soft & cute. This will keep my niece warm.'

'Okay. What else do you want sir?'

'Can you find me some beautiful baby frocks?' 'By the way Geet. Don't call me sir. Just call me Maan.' He winked.

I looked at him with surprise. What did he just blurt? To call him by name? Am I dreaming or what? Maan sir's behavior is hell confusing. Why is he behaving like this?

'Why are you silent? Can't you just call me Maan?'

'But.. but sir. How can I?'

'Don't be afraid. I won't fire you.' He chuckled.

'But I can't sir. I'm your employee & you are my boss.'

'So? That roles are only when we are working inside the office. Do you think that that I should display a board as The MD at Khurana Publications with my name where ever I go, huh? People never notice us unless they know us privately. Nobody can judge someone by his or her appearance.'

God sir! please stop giving lectures. I don't want to get into another trouble for god's sake.

'Umm.. but ?'

'No more questions. Just call me Maan hereafter when we meet outside. I'm your boss only in the office.'

What? Hereafter? Are you freaking kidding me Maan sir? I really don't want to meet you outside the office anymore. Never! this trouble itself is more than enough.

'Hmm.. okay.' I pretended to be agreed. How awkward it is.

Finally I could select some beautiful baby frocks, sweaters & soft toys which Maan sir liked.

'You have a good taste Geet. The things you have chosen for my niece is simple & nice. It will really suit for her.'

'Thank you sir.'

'Sir? Not again Geet.'

'Umm.. sorry.'

'Come on just say Maan.'

'M...'

'Awweee this is so cute.' A little girl who must be about 4 years came up running to me. She pointed at the soft teddy bear in my hand which I selected for Maan sir's niece.

'You like it?' Maan sir inquired that toddler with a smile.

'Suhaana. Darling where are you?' A middle aged pregnant mom was searching for her daughter.

'There you are.' She came towards us after spotting their little daughter.

'Teddy teddy!'She almost pulled it from my hands.

' Suhaana. No! that's not your teddy. Give it back to that aunty.' Her mother ordered her.

'No no no! this is my teddy' The girl was hugging that toy.

Maan sir knelt down her & carressed her hair.

'You want this?'

'Yes yes! my teddy.' The girl replied with a bright smile.

'Suhaana. I told you once. This is not your teddy! give it back.' The mom talked more sternly.

'Hey you can have this teddy. You like it nah?' Maan spoke the little girl in a friendly manner.

'Umm.. I'm so sorry about this. I think you have bought it to your baby. My daughter is too stubborn.'

'It's okay. Seems like she really loves it.'

'But Mr. ?'

'It's totally fine ma'am. I feel so happy to see her with it. Right Geet?' Maan sir looked at me.

'Oh yeah. ' I smiled. I loved her cute antics.

'Suhaana. Say thank you to this aunty & uncle' The mom ordered her.

'Thank you aunty. Thank you uncle.' The little girl thanked us. She seemed to be so happy with the teddy bear. She kept it hugging tightly.

'I'm sorry once again. She shouldn't have done it. I was looking for some linen & she disappeared at once.'

'Kids are always attracted to toys. That teddy is really cute.' Maan sir spoke gently. I have never seen him like this. At office, he used to behave to ruthlessly. The impression I had about him was quite wrong. He is a nice human being, I felt. Anybody can be rude at work, specially when they are stressed out.

'So when is your baby due?' The lady inquired from me.

'Umm.. I'm just in my 1st trimester' I replied. Actually it cannot be an answer. It is a damn lie.!

'Is this your first child?' The lady asked me again. God why again?

'Yeah.'

'Aww then you must be really excited.' ' First time to be parents.' The lady smiled with both of us.

I looked at Maan sir. He winked at me.

'Everything pink?' 'Seems like you love baby girls' The lady spoke again. God this woman! If your daughter got the toy why don't you just disappear? I scolded inwardly. I hate when strangers start a conversation unnecessarily.

'Well, she likes boys I love girls' Maan sir replied. He seems to be enjoying this drama.

What the hell? He is behaving like he is the father of my child. I felt like telling you are mistaken Mrs. Whoever you are! that we are not a couple' But I kept silent.

'Hahaha typical young couple. I remember when I was carrying Suhaana, she was our first baby. Me & my husband often used to argue over the baby's gender. He always wanted a daughter & I wanted a son. But god granted his wish. This time I hope it is gonna be my turn. I'm sure it's a baby boy. She chuckled.

Her story was interesting. But I find it stupid why the parents argue over the gender of their baby? Whoever it is, it's your child for god's sake. That it what matters. Not the gender.

'So your wife agreed to buy all the stuff in pink?' She inquired from Maan.

Wife?What the hell? Damn I'm not his wife! I can't even imagine that. No way!

Maan sir looked at me & smiled. What? He wasn't affected by it! He put his arm around me. I was trying to loosen his grip. He held me more tightly.

'Uh yeah. She had to agree. May be next time we will shop some blue items.' Maan sir chuckled.

What's wrong with him? This is not done. He is not my bloody husband! why is he acting to be my husband in front of that lady? On what purpose? & what did he say? Next time? Oh god no! I'm not gonna go shopping with him! Never!

'So sweet. Okay I have to go now. Thanks a lot for giving that toy to my naughty girl. All the best! Have a safe delivery, in case if we would not meet again.' The lady extended her hands wishing us.

'Oh crap! Everything is bloody fake! What will happen next?

'Good bye aunty & uncle' The little girl waved at us.

'Good bye Suhaana. Have fun with the teddy.' Maan bade her good bye.

I loosened his grip & glared at him.

'Pissed off?' He smirked.

'Not at all.' 'If it is done can we go now?' I wanted to go home so badly. I can't bear this. Maan sir pretends to be my husband.

'Geet give me that. Too heavy for you.' He took the plastic basket which was filled with baby items & toys which I had been carrying. Why so much care? I just can't understand! Geet be careful!

Finally Maan sir seemed to be satisfied with the items & we started heading towards the cashier.

'Geet wait a minute. Come here.' He held my hand and went towards the maternity frocks section. God! what is gonna happen now? Another drama?

'Geet, can you select a frock for my cousin sister please?' He sought help from me once again.

'But sir? If she is going to deliver the baby in another few weeks why are you gonna buy frocks for her?'

'Why not? She can wear them even post delivery. Look at those beautiful frocks. Can you pick one?' He gently pushed me towards them forcefully. This is too much. Anyone who would by pass us will think that we are a real couple. Maan sir's behavior is shocking!

I was searching for a frock & I felt someone touched my hand. I was shocked to see Maan sir behind me. He smiled at me. I felt so different, so comfortable like never before. I was staring at his 'M' shaped lips. He had long eye lashes. I have never studied him this close. He is truly handsome.

Maan's POV

I just couldn't take my eyes off her. She had beautiful hazel brown eyes. They were so expressive. Her red lips made her milky white face more beautiful. I was mesmerized by her beauty. I felt that everything was frozen & only two of us are here, concentrating on us. Almost communicating with our eyes. We shared an eye lock.

'Um.. excuse me, may I help you?' A sales girl came & intruded. I came back to normal. Geet looked down shyly.

'Yeah. Can you help finding a maternity frock for her?' I asked from the sales girl.

Geet's POV

What the hell for me? Why? I looked at Maan sir. He looked away. It was hell awkward. We were lost in each other for a few seconds. Why didn't I feel uncomfortable like before? Why did I wanted to continue looking to his eyes. His well built masculine figure is driving me crazy. God Geet stop this nonsense! He is your boss for god's sake! I scolded myself.

The sales girl came up with several outfits. Ma'am you can try these.

What the hell? Try all?

'Geet just go & try those outfits. Come with each frocks when you are done.' Maan sir ordered me.

I was hell irritated. Too tired. I looked at my watch. It was almost 6:30 pm. I am late!

I went inside the changing room cursing him. I changed into that outfit. It was too baggy. I felt my phone vibrating on my pocket. It was Pinky!

'Hi Geet!' 'Why didn't you even call me!' 'What happened?'

'Oh god Pinky! you won't believe I'm still rotting inside that bloody mother care shop with Maan sir'

'What seriously? Are you kidding me Geet?'

'No! for real! This is getting out of control. First he asked me to select some stuff for his cousin's baby & now demanding me to try out a maternity frock!'

'What the hell?'

'I know right! What shall I do now?'

'Just calm down & follow his instructions!' She chuckled.

'What the hell Pinky?' 'I am in a big trouble!'

'Okay okay. Tell Maan sir that you are getting late.'

'He won't listen to me Pinky.'

'Geet! aren't you ready yet?' I heard Maan sir calling me from outside.

'He is calling me! will talk to you when I go home okay?'

'Okay take care Geet! & good luck for the rest! Enjoy shopping with Maan sir' Pinky giggled.

I disconnected the call angry. Everyone has taken this as a joke.

I opened the door. Hell I can't walk out with this horrible dress. Maan sir was staring at me.

I tip toed uncomfortably.

'Wow! you look gorgeous Geet!'

'With this? Are you sure s.. I mean M.. maan.' I collected the words. I felt so awkward.

'Geet say it again.' He almost pulled me.

'Sir what are you doing?' I tried to loosen his grip.

'I will let you go only if you call me Maan!' He winked.

'Umm..' I felt so much uncomfortable & stressed out.

'M..Maan.' Finally I blurted out.

'Now let me go! I pushed him'

'It is really nice ma'am. You look so beautiful.' The sales girl complimented.

'Uh.. thanks' I was fed up with this. I wish I could vanish at once.

'Will you try these too?' She showed the others.

'No! I can't I'm almost tired.' This time I gathered some courage to refuse.

'It's okay. But they look beautiful & will suit for you properly.'

'Are they in the same size?' Maan sir inquired the sales girl.

'Yes sir.'

Okay then. I'm purchasing all of them.

'All of them? For me? What the hell you told you are gonna buy for your cousin?'

'No Geet! they are perfect for you!'

'But sir? These are so much expensive & you are trying to buy 5 outfits?'

'Do you think that I can't afford?' He chuckled.

'No way! I know you are so rich but why do you want to spend so much on me?'

Maan's POV

Because I love you Geet! Yes I love you! I really do! Wish you were my wife. I sighed. No matter how much I tried to control my feelings I couldn't deny the fact that I have already fallen in love with her.

Geet's POV

What has happened to Maan sir? He is acting so strange! God please help me!

Finally the shopping ride was over. It was almost 7 pm. We had spend more than 2 freaking hours in the store. He asked me to get into his car. I opened the back door.

'Geet! are you making me your chauffer?' Maan sir chuckled.

'Umm.. ' I felt awkward.

'Come on to the front seat!' He opened the door.

We didn't talk much while driving. He offered me to get something for dinner but I refused. All I wanted was to get back home soon. I directed him up to my apartment.

'Thank you sir.' I got down.

'Geet! you forgot something.'

He took 2 shopping bags from the back seat.

'Hey! your outfits!' Wear one of these tomorrow' He chuckled.

'Uh..' I don't want to wear these crazy outfits! Yuck! I'm all comfortable with my blouses & jeans. But I remembered Pinky's advise. If I'm pretending to be pregnant, I have to follow the rules. I hate all of these!

I thought Maan sir would come up to my door, but thankfully he didn't, but he asked many times if I need a help to carry all the stuff. I assured that I can. We greeted each other goodnight & parted ways.

maan's sense of humor is fantastic.. koi moka nahi choda geet ko tease karne ka..

pinky bhi gaddar nikli.. geet ko fasa k chali gayi.. now geet has to help in choosing gift for maan's cousin.. that to for her baby shower..lol.. 😆

OMG.. geet is so silly.. actually she is following that quate.. "come bull, hit me" hehe.. arre what's wrong with her.. girl or boy, pink or blue.. sonography or no sonography.. but maan is also not less..👏

and the conversation in the store between that lady and maaneet.. it was hilarious..😆
