It was pitch black, a starless night hinting the world about the on going miseries. The stars nor the moon had no will to witness the cruelty mankind were pouring out on one another. Silence was all that could be heard in the hospital, but on closer look, one could hear the bustling of men at each corner, the tension in the air and the impending doom could be seen if one looked close enough. The good guys vs the bad, wasn't this the modern story told to children. But when it occurs in reality the outcome is unfathomable.
'Get out through the back' shouted the head security to Maan and Geet, nodding at his men to follow.
The bullets, the commotion and the craziness was all getting to Geet, she who was part of this world was kept hidden by her father. But now the ugly truth threw her back, she stood there shell-shocked. Not knowing what to do or think, bullets were shot, people were wounded and worse of them all civilians were affected.
'Geet, Geet listen' Maan held her tightly trying to grab her attention
'Geet we need to get out NOW' with that he forcibly held onto her hand, dragging her out of the room
'Where are you going' they heard a angry voice
'tch tch tch I warned you Geet but now face the consequences' Rudra was at the threshold terrifying Geet, before she could understand anything a bullet was shot hitting Maan on his forehead.
'Maaannn' Geet screamed, she never wanted this, she never wanted anything and now because of her foolish idea, Maan was dead
'Maan wake up, please wake up ... please' she cried holding his lifeless body
'Maan, Maan' she kept shouting caressing his hair
'Back down now' Rudra ordered his men
'Blackmailing me will get you nowhere Sameer Handa' Rudra was frustrated, how could Sameer possibly know about his and Anni's story but the saying 'you dig grave for someone else and you'll end up it in' is apt for Rudra. He was breaking his head trying to think of another plan to win the upper hand over his friend cum rival Sameer Handa.
'Geet, Geet get up, its all a dream' he whispered in her ear, hoping she would wake up from her nightmare. He knew it must be about him, if anything he learnt about Geet over the weeks it was that she was a selfless girl, bit foolish but very caring. And unknown to him, he was falling for that specific trait, yes Geet being beautiful and bubbly wasn't helping him either.
'Maan his ... his coming' she cried into his chest hugging him tight trying to believe that it was just a dream. Maan spent the next couple of minutes caring for Geet and instilling his power, it was about time she knew Maan Singh Khurrana's power. If her dad was the don, then he was no less.
After an hour both Geet and Maan were snuggling into each other in the plane heading back to Delhi. Maan was alerted about the upcoming danger by his bodyguards, so he decided to head for Delhi tonight. Known territories better than unknown parks. Persuading Geet was a mission, but Maan after all is Maan, when his sweetness didn't do the trick he adopted his mean avatar scaring Geet. The bodyguards (both Maans and Geet's) stuck to them like glue. Come what may, they were instructed to protect them, even if death lay in front they took an oath to play their part in safeguarding their bosses.
'Maan what's all this' 'Hey baba yeh kha hua hai' 'Main lut gaye barbad ho gaye' Dadima was in her mode of action, Maan called her informing her about an accident, a car crash not wanting to scare dadi he thought to hide the actual truth. He also informed dadi about how Geet took the blame on herself. So on Maan's insistence Dadima started her acting lessons, after all she too needs her fill this this story right. Geet who was scared was now feeling guilty, what was she supposed to say to Dadima, that it was all her fault Rudra uncle's men attacked Maan because she refused to marry Vivaan, or that she played a trick on dadi and her grandson.
'Dadimaaa, stop this melodramaaa' Maan shouted pausing Dadi's acting and Geet's thinking
'kya dialogue tha, Maan. I'm proud of Geet' Dadi praised Geet for introducing a bit of life into her boring grandson's life
'yeh mera line hai, not Geets'
'well actually Sasha's, I heard her say it to her mother - mama band karo yeh drama' so I improvised' he corrected when he knew Dadi would start her interrogating lessons, this women took too many lessons for her own good.
'Its good for a 6 year old' stated Geet before bursting into laughter with dadi, Maan finally took a breather seeing his women laugh so freely. Whether she liked it or not, Geet was his women even if its fake but for now she was, he decided. He stood there gaping at his Geet until dadi broke his trance with her world famous 'Office wala love' song. Dadi just knew how to ruin the moment, causing Geet to blush up and Maan to glare. Maan and Geet narrated their visit to Dublin minus the accident since no one wanted to be sad.
'Nakul set the table' dadi ordered since it was lunch time already
'I need to leave dadi, I haven't called dad yet' Geet was scared and tired, she needed her daddy time
'Your not going anywhere without eating. You didn't eat last night too' Maan reminded, with that started another staring match. Geet shocked that Maan even cared and Maan well he didn't need a reason, well for now his mind argued.
'Naino se naino ko milau tang tang tang aww naino se naino ko milau' Dadi sang in her high pitched voice breaking their stance making Geet tomato red.
'I'm tired I'll rest and leave you lovebirds' dadi teased. She was worried sick knowing Maan was injured but now seeing him, all happy made her happy. So she sang her ever famous 'office wala love' song again climbing the stairs
'I should get going' Geet said trying to rush out but before she could Maan held her arm causing her to fall on him. Both landed on the couch with a bang,
'Are you ok?' both questioned together and the next second giggled at their own folly. AHHH life is a bliss when you don't know your in love. Both quickly corrected themselves before Dadi had the opportunity to sing another tune of hers.
'Geet, you came to my life with your choice but you leave it with mine' he started when he saw her walking away towards the front door stopping her midway.
'Maan Singh Khuranna decides from now, what happens in Maan and Geet's life and if you try even a single bit then you'll see the worst in me' he threatened focusing her to turn towards him, she never saw Maan this angry and there was something in his eyes which conveyed another message. But both being new this this game, never realised it was his possessiveness talking.
'Geet jab tak main hoon, nothing and I repeat nothing will harm you nor me so don't worry aur tumari papa he na to settle the rest' he joked easing her lightly holding her hands. He noticed although Geet seemed happy but it was only a try and now it was up to Maan to bring back the normal, carefree Geet who has been replaced with this scared and timid Geet.
Back in Jordan, the sun was high and the blue shy shined. But in the far end, in a dark deserted building was a couple held in the dungeon. By now even they lost count of how many years there were in that hole for, how many other secrets needed exposing and most of all how would their family deal with their disappearance. Life had been unfair for Mr Khuranna, but all that was about to change.
sorry I didn't dwell much in the story, I didn't want to ruin it for anyone plus I'm horrible at the drama and fighting quotient lol but I tried in the beginning but didn't feel comfortable so stuck to what I like - comedy and Maaneet. I'm sorry Idunno and other writers if you think I've ruined it for you and reader I hope you like it, it was my first time attempt on such a drama filled story.
I hope you like it
