PART 10. PLAN No. 9. RAIN ROMANCE PLAN!

It is narrated by the author and has both the leads' point of view!)

It has been months since Maan and Geet had seen each others' face now. This was not unusual as even before Pari's visit this was the situation. But there was one difference now. Earlier, Maan wanted a glimpse of Geet, but now he did not even want to hear her name, forget about saying it. The members of the household did not notice this difference though. They just thought that the duo were having their usual fight and get angry' game that they had started to play from Geet's faux birthday party. Nothing was new as far as they were concerned. Har waqt toh ladte rehte hain, what's new! They conferred amongst themselves.

But one person was a bit worried and that was Daadima. After all, at one time she did want Geet as her bahu. Of course, she started loosing hope once she realised that neither Maan nor Geet showed any inclination to do something about her wish. All they did was fight. Uff! Daadima thought as she noticed the way Geet avoided Maan. Lagta hai humaara sapna iss janam mein toh kabhi poora nahi hoga!

And then entered Pari. With Pari came hope for Daadima; hope that her grandson might like Pari. Geet nahi toh kya hua, Pari hi sahi! Bahu toh milegi! As the day progressed Daadima's hopes bloomed too. By the evening, Daadima was imagining how perfect their Jodi was and how cute their kid would look! Of course her hopes deflated when Maan gave vague answers to her questions and after that day he did not even think about Pari, forget about calling her or visiting Mumbai to meet her.

Hence, Daadima came back to her original dream! Maan Singh Khurana weds Geet Handa! Pehla option hi better tha! Pari ke baare mein toh humein sochna bhi nahi chaahiye tha! Daadima went back to her original dream but soon she realised that even this dream might go into drain. Because earlier when only Geet avoided Maan, nowadays even Maan avoided Geet. Both went out of their ways to avoid each other. Yeh kya ho raha hai yahaan? Hey Babaji! Daadima sighed sadly hoping that her Babaji for once would do something about it.

But Babaji cannot be blamed here! When there are two people who don't want to face each other, who was Babaji to stop them, especially when the said duo were our Maan and Geet! Even Babaji gave up when it came to these two! Jaane do bhai! Hum in do paaglon ke beech mein nahi phasne waale!

But question remained as to why these two avoided each other. We know Geet's reason. She did not know what she was feeling for Maan and was more than happy to dismiss her thoughts and focus on her job. And of course, after noticing Maan and Pari's closeness, Geet simply wanted to stir clear of the duo. She so did not want to hear Maan crib about how much he missed his Pari. Of course, Maan would not do such things as he was not in love with Pari. But how was Geet supposed to know that? As far as Geet was concerned, Maan and Pari were quite cosy the day they met each other and if Geet spoke to Maan, she was sure that he would talk about Pari and Geet was well versed with her negative feelings regarding that matter. So Geet avoided Maan.

Now that we understood Geet's motive towards avoiding Maan, lets talk about Maan. Why did he avoid Geet nowadays? The answer is quite simple! Male ego! Now you must be thinking WHAT!'. Arre simple! Remember! In last update, Geet slammed the door right on Maan's face! Such an insult! Gasp! Do you seriously think The Great Maan Singh Khurana is going to let go of his anger so easily? That girl! Samajhti kya hai apne aapko! How dare she slam the door on my face? He ranted and raved that day. I am so not going to forgive her, Maan promised agitated at being insulted in such a manner.

Maan's anger simmered and sparked for atleast a month before it calmed down. And once it calmed down, Maan missed his Geet. But why should he be the first one to bow? No way! She is the one avoiding him! She is the one slamming doors on his face! Mind you she did it once only! But who are we to argue with Maan Singh Khurana! We, the mere mortals, going against Maan!!! Gasp! Hey Babaji! No way! So Maan's ego refused to let the door incident go and that started his avoidance of Geet. And months and months stretched while Maan and Geet remained resolute with their decision.

Inbetween all this drama Geet's birthday came but this time Maan did not even give her a last moment gift like he did before her faux birthday party, forget about arranging a party for her like last time! Geet was hurt by this but refused to let it affect her and that in turn made Maan more annoyed. Why was she not fighting with me for her gift? You know what! Forget it! And the avoidance continued.

Finally the day came when it rained. Arre baba! It is love story! Ismein toh baarish hogi hi na! So finally a rainy day came. Maan stood by the window of his study staring outside. While Maan may not be the type to go and dance in the rain, he did enjoy watching it. He smiled as he raised his hand out of the window letting the rain water caress his fingers not knowing that in her room Geet was doing the same thing.

Geet smiled as the rain water hit her hands. She grinned eagerly as she started waving her hands in the rain. Haaye baarish! Unlike Maan, Geet had no qualms of dancing in the rain. She pulled out her mobile and put on some rainy songs. Humming alongside them, she left the mobile near the window and ran out of the room. She had to dance in this rain! It was too perfect to let go.

"Arre arre!", NT shouted as Geet almost slammed into her. Geet giggled, her face flushed in excitement while her eyes sparkled. "Main baarish mein bheegne chali!", Geet squealed as she ran off through the back door. As the window of her room faced the back of the house, she decided to dance in the back garden as that way she could hear the songs from her mobile. Geet forgot that Maan's study was right above her room and hence, he could hear and see her too. And even if she did remember, she did not care. Why would she care? She did not care for Maan. Right?

As the songs continued Geet twirled in the rain not noticing a certain someone staring at her. In the study room, all Maan could do was stare at Geet. Wet by the rain, her dress clung to her body showing her curves but that was not what had captured Maan's attention. Maan was mesmerized by Geet's face. Her face showed nothing but pure unadulterated joy. Not one single crinkle of worry was on her face. Maan smiled as Geet spun in the rain, her legs dancing and her hands waving. He continued to stare as Geet laughed loudly. She did not giggle, she did not titter; she laughed out loud as if she was the happiest person in the world. And Maan believed that she was the happiest girl in the world. Suddenly, he felt the urge to join her, to stand beside her, to watch her up and close. He smiled tenderly and stepping back from the window he turned and ran out of the room.

Maan reached the stairs only to stop in shock. There in the living room his whole family was gathered drinking tea and samosa while talking about the rain. Hey Babaji! Ab kaise niklun yahaan se? An idea popped in his head and he got down the stairs and walked off towards the main door.

"Maan bete! Kahaan chale?", Daadima asked.

Maan turned towards her, "Woh gaadi check karne jaa raha hoon. Driver ne cover kiya hai ke nahi, dekhne jaa raha hun!"

Daadima frowned and then nodded letting him off the hook. Maan took off from there, trying to control himself from running towards his Geet.

The moment Maan reached outside he ran towards the back of the house. By the time he reached the back, he was drenched too. But Maan did not care. There was his Geet, dancing to some song in the rain. He grinned as he stepped forward. The only source of light were the dim lit lights around the house and Maan stared as the glow illuminating from those lights made Geet look like some ethereal beauty. Geet had yet to notice him and continued to enjoy the rain falling on her face and hands. He reached her just as the lightning and thunder struck making Geet jump and loose her balance. Maan grabbed her waist while pulling her close to keep her from falling and she finally noticed him. Her eyes widened as after several months she saw his face up and close. Maan stared back at her happy to have her so close to him.

Geet felt the butterflies erupt in her stomach and her hands sweat. She felt her heart swell at seeing him after so many months.

The thunder struck again and in fear Geet hugged Maan tightly with her eyes closed. Maan hugged her back.

Geet opened her eyes as she realised that she was hugging Maan. She lifted her head from his shoulder and looked into Maan's eyes.

Geet remembered the last time they were in this position. They were about to kiss in the club on her birthday.

Geet stepped away from Maan harshly making Maan loose his hold on her. She looked at him in shock.

Tan Ko Jalaaye Thandi Bayariya

Maan looked at her in such an intense way that Geet shivered.

She hugged her body wanting to be closer to him and yet be far away from him.

She had to get away from him! She had to!

Geet took few steps back while Maan looked at her in confusion.

Maan raised his hand as if to stop her but Geet shook her head, fear written in her eyes while her legs continued to walk back.

Geet turned around and ran inside the house while Maan stood there confused and hurt. He knew that she still had to understand her feelings but her running away still hurt him. Shaking the thought out of his mind, he turned towards the main parking area with the aim to go on a long drive. Hopefully the drive will make me forget the hurt!

Geet entered the house and ran directly to her room. Her sister tried to call her back when Daadima stopped her saying that Geet must have run inside to change right away. After all, she might fall ill in wet clothes. NT nodded at that and joined their conversation.

Geet entered her room and shut the door tightly. The moment the door was shut, Geet let down her guard and she broke down crying. She fell on to the floor and cried her heart out. She was so confused right now that she could not understand what to do next. And that's why Geet continued to cry. All the emotions bottled in her for so many months burst out in forms of tears.

After few minutes of crying, Geet calmed down. And that is when she remembered the reason behind her being so confused. She closed her eyes remembering being in Maan's arms. She had felt so safe in his arms as if no harm would touch her as long as he was holding her. She had so safe and so loved. And that had brought her out of her dream land. Loved? Kya? She looked at Maan with horror just as she realised their position. They were in the same position they were in the club. And Maan was looking at her just the way he looked at her that night in the club when he was about to kiss her. And Geet realised that she did not mind being kissed by him. Infact, her heart wanted him to kiss her. That thought brought her up short and she pushed Maan away harshly.

Geet stood up from the floor and trudged towards her bed in confusion. Why? Why had she wanted to kiss Maan? Why his arms seemed like a refuge from all the sorrows in the world? Why did she feel safest in his arms? Why? And that answer came in flash. She loved him. She collapsed onto the bed in shock. She loved him. She, Geet Handa, loved Maan Singh Khurana! Hey Babaji!

Sorry if the starting paras seemed like it was written by someone crazy. Kya karun! I was so giddy about the response I got for my last two updates that my giddiness resulted into the starting few paras sounding pretty close to madness. Sorry once again!

Also this update was technically 2 and half years earlier from the present!
