Geet is daze now, only thinking about their lift scene and maan's concern eyes is haunting her...

PART 4. PLAN No. 3. GODH MEIN UTHAANE WAALA PLAN!

It had been two months since the lift incident and Maan had yet to try another of his plan on Geet. It was not that Maan did not want to plan something and execute it but time was not on his side. For the few days after the incident, Maan did not try anything because Geet seemed to be a bit jumpy after the lift incident. And once Geet started behaving normally, Maan got swamped up with projects and meetings. But that did not mean Maan stayed away from Geet. Just because he did not have any strong plan did not mean Maan left Geet alone. He used to every chance to crash into Geet and start a fight with her. And if any crash left Geet in Maan's arms, Maan would simply stare at her intensely making her jittery and nervous and Maan happy to have her in his arms and reacting to his touch. All in all, the last two months were not unproductive in Maan's books. But Maan was not satisfied. Hence, today when an idea stuck him, he decided to execute it right away.

Maan was rummaging through the drawers of his table searching for some old file. The drawer was deep enough that Maan had to put his hand fully inside to search it thoroughly. He frowned as instead of finding file, his hand caught another anomaly inside the drawer. He rolled his eyes as he pulled out an old sock. How long the sock was in the drawer only Babaji knows! Maan thought shaking his head and keeping it aside with other things he found in the deep drawer. File nahi mili, par duniya bhar ka saamaan mil gaya! Maan huffed in annoyance. His hand went back into the drawer as he hunted for the file. He looked inside the drawer in the worry. Kahaan hai yeh file? He frowned again as his hand caught another thing which felt like a bottle. Ab yeh kya hai? He pulled the bottle out and smiled softly. It was bottle filled with marbles. Yeh toh wahi gotiyaan hai jiske saath Dev bachpan mein khela karta tha! Par yeh mere drawer mein kya kar raha hai? He shrugged and was about to put it aside when he stopped. Ek minute! He pulled the bottle back in front of him and narrowed his eyes. Suddenly, an idea struck his head and he smirked. Perfect!

Half an hour later, Maan Singh Khurana was found standing by the door to his room hidden waiting for Geet to pass by. As soon as he saw Geet coming his way, he opened the bottle and threw the marbles onto the floor. His plan was quite simple. Geet would be passing by when she would slip on the marbles and fall down. She will be in pain and then Maan would lift her in his arms to help her. Geet's room was one floor down and that meant she would spend lot of time in his arms till he reached her room. Wow Maan! Plan toh bada romantic hai! Geet in my arms! Hey Babaji! Plan ko successful kardo please!

As Geet came closer, Maan hid behind the door waiting to hear Geet shout after falling down. As he waited, he wondered how Geet would react to being in his arms. Will she blush or will she stare at him intensely? Or will she start fighting with him right away? Nahi Babaji! No fight! Mujhe romantic moment chaahiye, comic nahi! His thoughts were interrupted when he heard Geet squeal. Squeal? She was supposed to shout. He looked out of his hiding place and his eyes widened.

Geet was sitting on the floor staring at it in awe. She let out another squeal loudly, "Gotiyaan! Arre waah! Kitni saari? Par yeh neeche kya kar raha hai? Chalo chaddo! Mujhe kya! Main toh in gotiyon ke saath khelungi! Arsa hogaya inke saath khelke!" She squealed again, collected the marbles one by one and skipped off to play with them. Maan stood still with his mouth wide open, looking at Geet's retreating back in shock. Yeh kya tha?

An hour had passed after his backfired plan and Maan was pacing his room in anger. Why Geet why? Kyun tumne woh gotiyaan dekhi? Seedha seedha uspe pair rakhke gir nahi sakti thi? Maan huffed in annoyance. But Maan had made his decision. Today Geet was coming into his arms, whether by hook or by crook. Maan Singh Khurana aaj jeet kar hi jaayega! Aaj woh Geet ko godh mein uthaake hi dum lega! He stormed out of the room thinking of some plan when suddenly his eyes fell on the glass lamps nearby. Perfect! Maan smiled smugly and walked off to execute his latest plan.

An hour later, Maan was found on the floor near Geet's room. He was lying by the glass lamp stand, tying a thick long black thread to it. Once done with that, he left the thread lying there and hid behind a pillar waiting for Geet to come. The moment he saw Geet coming this way, he grabbed the thread and hid behind the pillar ready to pull the thread and make the lamp fall down just as Geet was nearby and once the lamp fell down Geet won't be able to cross the glass littered floor as she usually wore mojri made out of cloth for shoes. That is when Maan would jump in as her savior as he generally wore hard leather shoes and would use it as the reason to walk on the glass. For this reason specifically Maan had worn the thickest soled shoes he could find in his wardrobe. He would then take Geet in his arms and crossing the glass littered floor he would take her to her room and then she will say thank you while looking at him shyly and he will make his place as her hero in her heart.

Maan lost himself in his daydreams while waiting for Geet to come. He was so lost in his daydreams that he did not notice Geet coming towards her room and entering it. He only noticed her when she came out and by that time it was too late to execute the plan. Maan! You idiot! Aur koi time nahi mila daydream karne ko! You had to daydream now only! You are hopeless, Maan! Hopeless! Maan scolded himself and then sighed and sat down on the floor waiting for another chance. He was not going to budge till Geet was in his arms.

Soon the time came once again after an hour when Geet started walking towards her room. As per the plan, the moment Geet neared, Maan jerked the lamp but to his astonishment the glass lamp stand refused to fall. Uh oh! He pulled the lamp again but it refused to fall as the thread was thin and not strong enough to tug the stand down. Geet passed by the lamp and even entered her room but the lamp did not fall. Bloody lamp! Maan swore as he stomped off towards the glass lamp stand only for it to fall right in front of him. His eyes widened in shock as glass fell all around him. Great! Now it had to fall! Pehle nahi gir sakta tha! Mere plan ka satyanaash kar diya!

Scared by the noise, Geet came out of her room. Maan narrowed his eyes as he looked at her. Maybe I can still salvage this plan, I can help Geet to come out of the room by taking her in my arms! He was about to offer that when Geet muttered, "Ek minute!", and went back into her room. Yeh kya hua? Wasn't she supposed to wonder how to get out and wasn't I supposed to pick her up in my arms? Suddenly, Geet came back with broom and swoop and got to work. She started sweeping the glass pieces around the floor while Maan watched in astonishment. I could have swept her off her feet or she could have simply swept the floor! Maan huffed mentally as Geet tear his plan into pieces and swept them with the glass pieces.

"Dekha!", Geet piped up happily, "Aaj maine aapko kaanch se bachaaya! Aaj toh main aapki hero hui!", saying her piece Geet scampered off leaving behind a Maan with his jaw hanging open. Once he came out of his shock, he slapped his forehead and stormed away. Enough is enough! Din mein teen baar try kiya aur teeno baar mera godh mein uthaane waala plan flop! Bas hogaya! No more of my plans today! Main nahi jhel sakta yeh tension! Mission: Geet ko pataao postponed till further notice!

It was late evening and Maan found himself staring out of his window into the house lawn. Geet was walking by the flower beds smelling the flowers and smiling happily in turn making Maan smile. He continued to stare when suddenly, Geet slipped on the muddy floor and fell down. GEET! Maan mentally shouted as he ran out of the room and into the garden. He reached her and gave her his hand. Geet grasped his hand without looking up trying to get up. She was half way up when she collapsed. Tears were coming out of her eyes. Maan bent down in worry, "Geet! Tum theek ho?" Geet looked up with tear filled eyes, "Pair bahut dukh raha hai, lagta hai moch aayi hai!"

Maan looked at her leg and then at her, "Don't worry! Main tumhein andar le chalta hoon aur doctor ko call lagaata hoon!" "Par kaise? Main toh chal nahi paaungi, andar kaise jaaun?", Geet wondered.

Maan gave her a tender smile, "Geet! Woh sab tum mujhpe chod do!" Before Geet could react, Maan placed one hand under her knees and other hand around her waist, picking her up bridal style. Geet immediately put her hands around his neck, making him look at her. She must have seen something in his eyes because she took a sharp breath and looked at him with what he would later describe as affection.

Maan marched off into the house and Daadima, NT and Dev who were seated on the living room sofa scrambled off towards them. Maan mused that seeing Geet this way must have triggered their memory of another time when Maan came home the same way from Geet's farewell party. He assured them that Geet was fine as he placed her on the sofa while Dev called the Doctor. As Maan turned to walk away, now knowing that Geet was safe in the hands of his family, a sweet voice stopped him, "Maan?" He turned and looked at Geet questioningly. Geet smiled tenderly making Maan's heart beat faster. "Thank you!", she whispered making him smile as tenderly as she did. He nodded and walked away.

It was only after he reached his room that Maan realised that he had carried Geet in his arms. His wish had actually come true! He grinned happily. I knew it Babaji! Even you wanted me to be with your Geet! Smiling smugly, Maan went on to stand outside his room looking at Geet and her sweet smile.

NOTE:

This chapter was written purely from Maan's point of view, so Geet's narration to Mannat must have been different as she would have mentioned only the fall and not the failed plans. The reason I wrote it this way rather than both point of view is that I wanted to show that not all of Maan's plans work effectively plus, this way the chapter seemed funnier!
