ok so here we go...
Recap: Geet failed to get a job.She had a tiff with Maan before leaving.Maan was stunned by her audacity but Geet knew she had to find a job...fast.
Chapter 4
Geet was becoming anxious now.She did not speak a word on the way back home.Even Pinky did not try to start a conversation.She entered the house and saw that her father had come.He looked her with contempt.This was the last thing she wanted to see today.
Her aunt tried to reduce the tension.She smiled a little and said,"Geet...Pinky.You both might be tired.Go to your room and freshen up I will take your food upstairs".
Geet's face had already turned pale.She knew this was the end of her dream.She felt a little relieved and slowly made her way to go to the room.Her father watched all this silently.
"So did you get the job?"His father said in a mocking tone.Geet stopped on her way.She was sweating profusely.She turned towards him and shook her head.She was literally shaking with fear.
Her father smirked."I told you not to be stubborn.Now go upstairs and pack your bags".
"No".Geet knew very well her father disliked this attitude.
"What did you say?"her father asked with suppressed anger.
Geet mustered up her courage.She knew that if she complied now then she will never be able to fulfill her dream.She wanted to do higher studies and her father,being a narrowed-minded person did not allow that.She knew that if she gives in she will crumple her mother's wish and her own as well.
She said in a quiet and confident tone tone,"I said-No.I...I want to study and I will find some...job".
"Quiet!".He yelled."You are coming with me and thats final."
Geet shook her head in disagreement.Tears rolled down her cheeks.She pleaded which enraged him even more and he slapped her.Geet stood there dumbfounded
Geet's aunt tried to save her.She pleaded,"Please don't do this to the poor girl.I will take her responsibility...I...".
"Shut up".Mr.Handa shouted."You know what?Now I know why this girl has become even more stubborn.You...You have corrupted her mind".Her aunt was shocked to hear such an accusation and Geet's patience to keep quiet started thinning away.
"I will taker her away now.Come along".Saying this he gripped her forearm and was dragging her out when Geet forcefully freed her hand from his clasp and shouted,"Dad!stop it.I'm not you property that you will do whatever you like with me.I'm an adult and know very well what is right and wrong for me".She continued,"I do not wish to spend the rest of my life depending on someone else.I want to do something by myself.I have seen mom working day and night but never getting any praise for her work.I do not want to be like her.Do you get that?Now you can LEAVE".
Without waiting for an answer she ran upstairs. Pinky and her mom stood there.Geet's father glared at her aunt and departed.
Geet sat quietly on the bed.She knew very well that her father won't seat idle.He will try his level best to destroy her life."What an irony!"she thought to herself."Fathers are supposed to protect their daughters from all harm.A daughter's hero is her father-a person who tries all that is possible for him to keep her daughter happy.But my father.He is the representative of the devil".She sighed and wiped her tears.
She stood up and paced in the room.She knew her father would visit her again and this time he will come with full preparation.
I have to leave this place".Geet said to herself
"I can't let these people get insulted because of me.But where will I go?" She shook her head sadly.She rued about the row she had with Maan earlier that day.
Pinky came in and saw Geet tensed.She tried to cheer her up,"Hey.Why are you pacing like a lioness in the cage desperate to pounce at someone".She giggled. Geet did not react.
"Pinky I need to find a shelter.I can't let you people get insulted like this".
"Geet why are you tensed.Who told you to leave the house".
Geet did not calm down she said,"No Pinky I can't stay here anymore.Can you please find any info about any rented house/flat or even PG will do".
"Ok I will.But_" she trailed off and suddenly clapped her hands in excitement.
Then rather mischievously she said,"Do you want to stay as paying guest in Maan Singh Khurana's house?"
Geet was stupefied.
"What?!"
