Television might be called the 'small' screen, but the pay cheques of popular TV actresses aren't small by any means. They play the quintessential baa, bahu, beti, behen, bhabhi, biwi, et al on the small screen with much finesse, and even don't mind living with the six yard saree, the layers of makeup and the jewellery for as many as 12 hours each day. Television actresses, these days -- especially those of daily soaps -- work almost 7 days a week, and even tuck in a whopping amount for the same.
A reliable source reveals, "The salary of TV actresses depends on the serial and the TV channel in which they are working. On an average, the work of a television actress is quite rewarding. If an actress is working in a prime time television serial as a lead, her salary ranges between Rs.60,000 -Rs.1,00,000 for a shift of 8 hours."
Adds the source, "All actors are under contract with their respective production houses.
