The song doesn't evoke as much happiness as the visuals of this video. It's a typical Iyer/Iyengar house with beautiful rangolis and golu bommais (little dolls) during Navaratri.

The visuals of them showing an elderly lady playing drums using cups is called Jalatharangam.

latest melody from Kochadaiyaan. the song is also in hindi called dil chaspiyaan. after so long ARR's undiluted melody enhanced by SPB :D

The visuals really are a feast for the eyes. The colors just explode across the screen.

I love the Jalatarangam. It is unlike any other percussion instrument, except maybe a xylophone. Though Jalatarang is more melodius in my opinion. The music echoes for a longer beat.
