But what has made it so unique and its exemplary in Geet is that quality where you Move on carrying the baggage of your grief while holding hands with your beloved dear ones..
...Not forgetting others in your own grief.,.. something I find rare even in real life.. some I have known, no matter how humble,grateful and modest they are... at times of grief they are almost incapable of holding on others with them..
Geet has managed to bind them all with the ties of her care, affection and even gratitude.. Where her dear ones are just name-sake relations but the ties she has with them are more binding than blood relations..
When one has gone through intense grief in on'es lifetime, a person reacts in two ways. Either they close themselves off completely, so as to not get hurt again, or their capacity for understanding, nurturing, caring and loving grows exponentially. I have come across both kinds of people in my life. Geet is an example of the latter. Though she is fictional character, everything she feels is very real.
I was trying to figure out where Maan and Geet would stand each other's life ...as in of course they would be held with the tie of their love..but how would they be bound together.. I realised that how today in this "Transition Chapter" that you are not happy with! (and I loved it like them all)
Maybe through my eyes you may be able to see this transition differently:
- Because what I saw is ...how the Transition in Maan's eyes and mind took place today .. he has opened his eyes to see this woman without any relations she is surrounded with.. to not see her as a mother of a five year old, a friend, a carer or a therapist but just a woman who is young yes! but her youth and innocence are like that of first time.. Jaise pehli baar aankhein kholi hai jawaani ki aad main..
I couldn't explain what I wanted to say in English ..First time is the probably the word! but in the hindi sentence above, I could decipher it!..
The bound that will hold them is that of healing... He will let her heal his untouched, unseen, opened yet hidden wounds that struggles of life has given him...
For her.. it will be her First time!! to heal ..to let someone hold her baggage of grief in one and her heart in the other..with Love!
How perfectly you have placed your finger on the pulse of this chapter. I could not have explained it any better myself.👏 This is definitely what I was trying to portray. All the noise that surrounds them, be it the misunderstandings, or the different relationships, everything is getting unfocused and they are finally starting to focus on each other. However I myself was not understanding it completely. Thank you for that wonderful analysis.
