Man entered the room quietly and found Geet still sleeping. He took the syringe Veer had placed on the table and gave her the injection. She stirred but didn't wake up. He had not slept at all the previous night. He got underneath the cover and closed his eyes, trying to get some sleep.

Geet woke up with Maan sleeping besides her, his hands on her abdomen. She could still feel the cramps but it was bearable. Not like last night. It was the second day of her periods, as long as she took her medicines and injection, she should feel better. She had not changed since last morning. She had to take a shower and change her pads. She turned and faced maan. He looked tired. She could understand why. He had taken care of her the entire night. Maybe he hadn't slept at all. She started getting out of bed slowly not to disturb him, but Maan opened his eyes.

"Where are you going Geet? Tell me if you need anything." He said worriedly

Geet smiled and touched his cheek. "Good morning Maan. I just need a shower. You sleep. Ok?"

Instead, he got up and sat on the bed. "How are you feeling? You were in so much pain." He said. His eyes looked sad and defeated. As if he was to be blamed.

Geet went close to him. "I'm fine Maan. I'm much better. You gave me my medicines in the morning I suppose!" As he still looked so worried and Geet could not bear the defeated look in his eyes, she placed his lips on his and kissed him slowly. Then she retreated and traced her fingers on his cheeks. "I'm fine maan. Yesterday was the first day. The worst part is over. Thank you for taking care of me."

Maan dragged her to his side and pressed her head on his chest, encircling his arms around her. He started talking. His voice pained. "You were in so much pain geet and I couldn't do anything. I've never, ever been so helpless in my life before."

Geet hugged him back. "It's ok. I'm fine now. You already gave me my medicine right? I already feel better."

Maan left her and glanced at her face. She was definitely better. Last night she was in agony. "Yes, I gave you an injection in the morning. Veer told me to."

Geet frowned and looked at him. "You know how to give injections?" She asked.

Maan looked amused. He smiled and replied. "Of course I do. I've been in the army Geet. If someone gets hurt, they expect you to have enough medical knowledge to treat a person on the spot"

Still keeping her frown, geet said, "That makes sense." Maan chuckled. Then he hugged her again. "Let me get the hot water running so you could take your shower."

Geet got into the shower. Maan was so worried that she was too weak to shower alone. He carried her all the way form the room to the bathroom and ordered her to keep the door unlocked in case she needed him or something happened. Even though the pain, she was feeling so happy.

For so long, it was only Veer who had been with her when she was sick. He provided care for her like a mother. Some times when she was too weak, he had had to do the most basic things like changing her clothes. But now, she had Maan. He was going to be her life partner. He would be able to take care of her more intimately. Taking care of her most basic needs.

Geet walked out of the shower while Maan was lying on the bed. She looked fresh but nonetheless, pale. He had called the hotel service to come change the sheets while she was showering. She had bled onto the sheets. He didn't want her to feel embarrassed. She was still getting used to the idea of being with him and sharing all that intimacy. Then she walked to the bed and got under the covers. Proof that she was still in pain and needed rest. She came closer to him and placed her head on his chest. He stroked her hair and kissed her forehead. "We need to get you something to eat so you can take the pills baby."

Just then they heard a knock and Veer and Aashi came in. Veer as always looked worried. Maan wondered how hard it must have been for him to take care of Geet. He understood his need to protect her from him all these years.

Veer walked over to the bed and Geet left maan and went closer to her brother. Sitting besides her Veer caressed her face. "You feeling better baccha?" Geet nodded and gave him a smile. Maan watched the exchange between them. Geet had automatically rolled over and place her head on his lap. Her eyes closed, Veer was stroking her hair.

Maan also had a little sister and he recognized the urge to protect Aashi all the time. Varun was like that too. Both of them treated her like their smallest sibling. But Geet and Veer went beyond that. Veer cared for her like a parent, more like a mother. This side of him was reserved only for geet. He had been her guardian since she was eight. So it made sense. And for that, he had utter respect for him.

"I don't want to eat that. It's yuck." Geet said.

Maan hadn't realized when Aashi had brought a bowl and handed that to Veer. It looked like oatmeal. It didn't look really tasty to maan. Why were they feeding this to Geet?

Veer stirred the mixture and said. "You have to baccha. You've lost blood and you need all your vitamins and iron back. There's everything in this."

"What is that?" Maan asked. "Oatmeal, with fresh and dried fruits and almond." Veer replied proudly.

Maan made a face. He always hated oatmeal, and apparently Geet hated it too. "You're not helping." Veer glared at him. Geet got up and scooted closer to Maan.

Maan frowned at her. "What happened? So now you're coming back to me?"

She looked at him with those eyes and all he wanted to do was crush her in his arms and kiss her breathless. But he was not going to do that. Veer knew what was best for her, and if she had to eat that not so tasty stuff, he'd make sure she would.

"Give me the bowl Veer. I'll make her eat" He said, and turned towards geet. "Looking at me with those eyes wont make a difference, I'm not Veer." Then he murmured under his breath "Calling a 22 years old baccha all the time." But Both Veer and Geet heard him and gave him a glare. Aashi who was observing them burst out laughing.

Varun woke up and felt the warmth missing by his side. He woke up and checked the bathroom. Not finding her there, he went to check in the kitchen. "Meera, where are you?" But he knew. She had already left his apartment. Without a single word. He wanted to talk to her. What had happened on his bed yesterday was the best thing ever. Hot, amazing sex. No not sex, he corrected himself. What had happened yesterday was more than that. They both had felt it. It had been beyond sex. there had been a connection. Not only of their bodies, but that of their soul.

Varun never thought that he would reach this decision. But damn him if he dint want to give a chance to whatever was there between the two of them. After yesterday, he was sure that even Meera would be willing to give them a chance. The women had cried due to the intensity. His lips curved into a smile unknowingly and he felt deep contentment in his heart.

Veer and Aashi came back into their room. Both of them had a big smile on their face due to geet. Veer had sit with Aashi watching geet tormenting Maan with her antics about not eating the oatmeal.

Veer called Varun and informed him that they were going to come back in a couple of days as geet needed some time to be able to do that long ride. Varun had sounded happy, he could tell. But then he had talked about Aashi and how he was worried that she was not safe. Veer was worried himself. That Human trafficking organization had resources. They had reach in higher places. Suddenly he felt a fear engulfing his heart. Fear of losing her.

Aashi watched the change in expression on Veer's place after he had finished talking to Varun. She could easily say that it was about her name being out there. She didn't show it, but she couldn't deny that she did feel a bit afraid. Veer came towards her and engulfed her in a hug, pressing her head in his chest and placing his chin on the top of her head.

"We need to take this seriously Aashi. Once we are back to Delhi, you have to make sure that whenever you go somewhere out, there's at least maan, Varun or me with you. Ok?" She nodded and pressed a kiss on his chest.

Veer lifted her chin and looked at her face. His eyes were intense and full of desire. This one look told her what he wanted. He pressed her body on his and she instantly felt his hardness poking her belly. She smiled. This strong, amazing and caring man in front of her wanted to make love to her.

"Yesterday I was too tired. You were lucky. But right now..."

Aashi gave him a wicked smile and before he finished she launched out of his arms and started to run away from him. But she didn't reach far. He caught her wrist and pulled her back on his chest. "Where are you running sweetheart? I'm having my way with you today. No matter what." With that he lifted her up in his arms and moved towards the bed.

Aashi continued struggling with him even on the bed giving him a beautiful naughty smile. He caught her both wrists and pinned them above her head and came on top of her pinning her legs with his body. Unable to move, Aashi stopped stuggling and surrendered.

"I love this playful side of yours. "Veer said with his husky voice. Holding her hands still above her head, he started unbuttoning her shirt with his other hand. Then he bent down on her, pressing her into the bed and kissed her senseless. "You wont be able to run away from me ever." He said before he started making love to her.

Geet and Maan were lying down on the bed. Geet's eyes were half closed but she was not sleeping. She was lying on Maan's chest and she could tell that he was tired too. She felt helpless, lying on this bed unable to do anything else. She was scared. She didn't want the pain to come back. She had taken her medicines a few hours ago after she had eaten. She could feel that the effect was fading and the pain was returning now. She forced her eyes closed and buried her face more into his chest and tried to sleep.

Maan felt her movement. "You feeling ok geet? Is it hurting a lot?"

Geet nodded in denial. Maan knew she was in pain. He slipped his hand inside the covers and lowered her pajamas a bit under her abdomen. Then he placed his palms flat over her abdomen. "It hurts over here?" he asked.

Geet tilted her face and looked at him. She nodded. "Right there" She said. Maan started to caress her over there applying minimum pressure.

Geet forgot about the pain. She started concentrating on the warm hands which were on her bare stomach. Although it was not sexual, but just to comfort her, she couldn't help feeling a tingling sensation in her tummy. She smiled and hugged maan.

Maan knew that whatever he was doing was not helping her with the pain at all. But he knew that his closeness and touches affected her. And using his effect on her, he could easily take her mind off her pain. He kissed her hair softly and within a few minutes she was already sleeping. Slowly, he drifted off too. He was aware that the night might be similar to the previous one once again, from what Veer told him. Once geet was done with this period, he'd make sure that she would not suffer like this next time. And the solution was the surgery. He was going to convince her to have it done. Didn't matter even if she wouldn't be able to have kids one day.

Varun entered the headquarters and saw Meera working. She was always serious about her work. She never took it lightly. This made him wonder how she took care of her daughter. They had to talk. And she would have to make sure she had an explanation to leave his apartment without waking him up this morning. Especially after what they had shared. He made a mental note that he would take her out for lunch today. He entered the room and greeted her. "Hey Meera."

"Hey Varun." She acknowledged him. "I have managed to scan all public records. Aashi's name came up quite some times. Although its difficult for anyone to crack this down, we better be on the safe site. I've already encrypted all the data. Things should be fine now."

Varun looked at her. Ok this was important, that's why she didn't mention anything about last night as first thing and decided to talk about the issue they had about Aashi. Maybe she was going to say something now.

He waited but Meera just turned around and continued working. He knew that this was their working place, but there was no one present and it wasn't as if they had some urgent work to be done. He glanced at the screen she was looking at and saw that she was reading some report about the 18 girls they had saved. Definitely not something that needed immediate attention. The only thing that came into his mind was that she was avoiding him. But he was not going to let her.

"Meera, you left in the morning without waking me up. I was looking for you."

Meera kept looking at the screen in front of her. As soon as he had entered the room, she had tried to start talking about work to avoid talking about yesterday. About what had happened in his apartment, on his bed...How intense and...don't go there Meera! She didn't want to talk about it. It had happened and she did not regret it. She had wanted to move on and he had seen her in a different look for the first time. Both of them had wanted sex and they had got it. And this was not going anywhere. She was not worried because she knew that Varun was not a person who looked for commitment. Lost in her own thoughts she forgot that he had asked her a question.

"Meera. I'm asking you something." He said

"I went back to my apartment. I had to change and start working on this. You were still sleeping, that's why I just left." She replied. Making minimum eye contact possible.

"This could wait and we could have worked on it together. You didn't even have your car. You preferred to take a taxi to go back rather than waking me up?" Varun asked her calmly.

Well, she did have trouble finding a taxi in the morning. But she couldn't stay in that bedroom, one more minute. When she woke up, she had been so afraid. What had happened between them was too intense. She couldn't understand the way she had felt and still feeling. So she just wore her saree and fixed herself before walking out as quickly as she could from his apartment.

"What happened Meera? Where are you lost now?" Varun asked her again.

She came out of her thoughts and stared at him.

Varun decided that he was not going to get any sort of explanation about the way she walked out. So he went directly to the important thing. "We need to talk Meera," He had managed to get her attention. "About yesterday." He said.

Meera did understand that they had to talk about it. So maybe now is the time. "Yesterday what happened...we didn't plan for it to happen...but I don't regret it, and I hope you don't too. We just have to put it behind us and everything will be just the same." She said.

Varun wasn't sure about what he just heard. Put it behind us? That's what she wants? Damn him, but he was not going to put the most wonderful experience he's ever had behind him just like that. "What do you mean putting this behind us? You just want to forget and not talk about it ever?"

"Yes, that's what I meant" Meera replied calmly.

"Damn Meera. I'm not doing that. What happened yesterday between us was far beyond sex and you are well aware of that. So forget it, I'm not putting this behind. We are going for lunch together today and we are going to sit down and talk. Like adults."

Meera was annoyed. Yes, she knew that what they had had was far beyond sex. But given the baggage she carried, nothing would come out of it. So they didn't really have anything to talk about. She knew how to handle this. "Exactly Veer. We're both adults. We had amazing sex yesterday and it was great. Really great. But that's it. There was nothing beyond that. It happened and now its over. So lets end this rite now." Her voice was quivering.

Varun stared at Meera. She had said those words and he had seen directly through her lies. The women had tears yesterday in her eyes. She had no longer been the Meera he was used to working with. She had melted in his arms, allowing him to pleasure her the way he wanted.

Varun went closer to Meera and she rested back on her chair to put some distance. Instead, he came closer and placed his hands on the hand sides. His face was close to hers, their lips just inches apart. She thought he was going to kiss her. Her breath automatically became heavy and she could feel his breath on her face. She was waiting for the kiss but instead he smiled and said with arrogance. "I affect you. Believe it or not, I do. And I will make sure that you admit that what happened yesterday was special. So special that you will give us a chance to explore it." Then slowly he bent down further down to kiss her. She stared at him, but instead he put her hair behind her ears and turned around to leave. Left her craving for that kiss.

Maan opened the door of the car and let geet go inside. They were finally returning back. Geet was still a bit weak and pale, but she was going to be able to go through with the drive. Once they reached Delhi, Maan had decided to talk to her about the surgery. She had an appointment with Sahil in the next few days and they would find out if things had worsened.

They reached Delhi before it was completely dark. On the way, Maan, Veer and Aashi had switched the driving seat. Geet had complained that she wanted to drive too but Veer had told her that she was not well. Veer dropped Aashi and Maan at their place before heading to his place.
