Most tamilians know tamil. It is their pronounciation which makes north Indians think that we don't know hindi! But these days the younger generation dont have that problem too because the wider reach of TV! Luckily I was born and brought up in Mumbai so I am well versed in English, Hindi. Marathi and Tamil though I cant write tamil, only speak and read a little. But I can read and write other three languages!

Telugu?? My cousin's family is from Hyderabad so they know Telugu! I only know koodekaaylu, vendekaaylu as that is what my sister used to ramble about on the phone when she was a kid.

Haila! I got it right! I always get it wrong! Mallu also? Lucky you! You get to learn so many languages! I get to learn languages only by watching serials! I can speak basic Gujarati, Punjabi. Haryanvi, and Rajastani but all basic! Oh! After watching IPKKND I learned little bit Bhaiyya hindi too! And also I can swear little bit in Punjabi all thanks to Geet dear! Remember? Her swearing when the watchman goes missing during Hum Tum ek kamre sequence!
