Most tamilians know tamil. It is their pronounciation which makes north Indians think that we don't know hindi! But these days the younger generation dont have that problem too because the wider reach of TV! Luckily I was born and brought up in Mumbai so I am well versed in English, Hindi. Marathi and Tamil though I cant write tamil, only speak and read a little. But I can read and write other three languages!

i too can understand tamil and can speak little bit originally iam from andhra so pure telugu
