TEASER

I give her a few minutes, leaning against the bike, not wanting to crowd her.

In our relationship, she has always been the one to decide the next step. I have always followed. One thing is a fact though; wherever she goes, I will be there. I watch her some more before walking slowly to her where she stands by the water's edge.

It is a midnight blue sky with no clouds. Stars as big as apples light up the sky and the moon though not full is glowing. Soft river breezes twirl her hair slightly but my attention is captured by her eyes. It seems like she has made some decision. I hold my breath to hear the verdict although I can see it in her eyes.

She says something I never expected.

"Statue".

It is a childhood game where you have to freeze in position and not say or do anything until the other person says "Over". I stand in place like a statue, my words dying on my lips. She seems to be fighting her emotions as she comes closer to me. Her eyes are full of love and desire for me and the whole of my body is revolting on the inside to be in this statue position. My insides are aching to hold her, my body seeking her warmth that I had found on the bike with her.
