since krishna is not able to conceive i guess she is taking mitu as her own child. When prithvi got died it was krishna & her husband who take care of both of them & krishna got so much attached to her that she sees her own child in mitu & at that time she didn't think geet can re-married as geet loved prithvi a lot. So, she thought mitu is not going away from her as geet going to stay with them.

but her marriage to maan & his bond with mitu, she can see is unbreakable which is scaring her & now geet got her own family which means geet doesn't need any more support from her.

I guess this is the reason behind krishna's obsessive behavior toward mitu. Its her fear of loosing mitu which leads to her this behavior(just a wild guess)
