Here Maan and Geet both are different character.Maan did that horrendous act out of revenge for that story has still to be unfold.
though it was totally wrong but he is trying to correct his mistake by marrying her and try to giving her all the protection and respect as much he can do out of remorse but one thing he is lacking is future of this relationship, once he didnt give thought that what is next?why he didn't think her to give further education so that she can be independent and can decide her future ,and cant be depend on others.second she also should know the truth of rape till that time maan will not come out of his guilt let geet should decide his punishment.though he is attracted towards her but his remorse is not allowing him to take further step in heir relationship.it is obvious of human psychology.here he is complex character who is good and bad he made crime and trying to correct it by marrying and giving protection so i don't hate that character as much as in general when rapist do this short of crime to fulfill their desire without thinking of victims pain and suffering and don't even bother what happen to that girl as power and position they do crime and forget it,and repeat again,so in my eye maan is not 100% hatred person and he is keeping distance as he don't want to use her for his lust ,he wants to give time to this relationship and may be wants geet to know the truth of his sin.he is suffering for his act so he is punishing himself.
so keep finger close and wait for story to unfold reason of this act,truth-punishment-love and hatred.

Though Maan is doing everything for Geet, he is doing it as a duty not out of love. Till when will Geet's optimism keep her up. Because without love she will wither away. Only daadi loves her unconditionally.
