this story was quite confusing till part 7, but due to note on age and part 8 ,confusion relived somewhat.

As per my understanding story is like-

Ashima, Maan's child hood friend with age diffrance of 3 years, when she was 15 maan was 18years old and geet was 4 years old.

so i think geet is her younger sister, with big age gap of 11years,which is possible,and she is in hospital bruised badly,lots of blood vanished and becme very pale and thin,she left maan since 2 month and he search her madly and found in hospital where she confess him she destroyed her life by herself and now it is too late and she will not survive and he will not tell his family member anything about her,and ask geet to take care of maan if she is no more geet didn't got it but said yes to her, now one thing is she was injured due to jumping from roof or something else/.and why she was living with maan but maan don't know Geet? is geet was ashima's daughter which is not possible as she can be only 11years if geet is her daughter ,so that is not logic guess,it is only 2 month she left maan so that logic is not applicable and only remaining is either she is her nice or sister ,but my guessing is she is her sister,only confusing part is maan living in city and geet was in village than how come ashima with maan and what relation geet's parent had with maan's family?

Human nature is different. When you heard something different from what you had seen, that thing will always fascinate you to know more than anything else. As par Geet's case was the same. Geet noticed few things about Maan, as like other he rarely stays in house, even if stay in house maybe for having breakfast or lunch, he will come outside of his room. Mostly he will stay in his room occupied with laptop or file. And rarely talk to anyone, if anything is not that important. Geet knew each and every family member in the house except Maan. She only heard about him from Dadi and Anni which was always good, rather than other side which he showed to her. He was enigma for her, which made her more fascinate about him.

" dev beta aur humare hone wali babu coming sooon" Mami said to Dadi and Anni , keeping the phone "App log ney kuch socha hain ya ki nahi, aur mujhe hi socha na parega"

"Humhe jante hain" Dadi replied at her dramatic dialogue "Aur intna din humne socha ki, app key pass dimag hi nahi sochna key liya"

Anni chuckled at Dadi's replied, mami fumed.

"Waise bhi hum appse pehele, naintara beta parivaar ko bol diya, woh sab agle hafte aa rahe hain shaddi ki tarike tik karne key liya." Dadi said

Dev went to Germany more than six months, as MK group opened new branch over there and Nahantara also went there for completing her internship. Before going to Germany they were engaged.

"Dadi woh.."Anni was cut by screaming sound

"OUCHH"

Everyone jerk out with the loud scream which come from upstairs. Geet & piya came running behind the Karan, no doubt Karan did some mischief with them.

"Sorry baby doll" Karan screamed from upstairs.

Geet came running behind Karan him, suddenly she hit with HP and broke the glass which he was taking to upstairs. As soon she was going to apologized for the behavior, her voice stuck looking at the person and step one step back due to fear.

Karan hide under the table, piya hide behind the pillar and prayed almighty to save Geet.

Because Maan was standing clenched his teeth, was going to shout at her, suddenly one more glass broke he turned to dining table, again one more. Dadi and Anni broke two more glasses.

'

"Sorry Bahi" Anni apology showing her teeth for breaking her glass

"Ha Maan wo glati se" Dadi was supporting Anni ; actually the truth was they both were saving Geet from Maan 's wrath.

Maan just fist his hand, left his room angrily not giving a single look to Geet.

When Maan left Dadi and Anni closed their eyes for a giving silent prayer to God for saving Geet.

After few days

"Geet, I will come soon" Dadi kissed her forehead "Tik se kana, kuch chaiya toh mami sey bolna"

Geet nodded, Dadi was really sad to leave her alone, as her one of relative was very sick, she had to leave immediately. Even Arjun and Anni wasn't in the house, they left for vacation. For past few days Anni wasn't well, so Arjun plan for a trip, this might change Anni 's mood.

Geet whole day make her busy with playing with her doll and bunny, watching cartoon. Even Karan and piya wasn't in house who went to educational tour from school. Mami talk with her, if she anything essential.

When night fall Geet sleep was far away, she kept tossing and turning left and right. She couldn't sleep alone, after all the suffering she had gone through in her life. These days she always stayed with Dadi or Anni in the room, until she slept. She got up from the bed and went to mami's room, she knocked few time but there was no response from inside, moreover it became night , unknown fear crept inside her, even though there was none, still she was felling someone making sound. She clutched her doll tightly with fear and again called mami, but still no response.

She went to hall, make call to Arp from landline, these days they get together very less because of Arp's busy professional life. Moreover Anni was out of town, so she preferred to call lav.

When Arp received the call "Hello, di" Geet tired to behave normal, not to show her fear

"Ha Geet, kasie ho tum?" arp asked her

"hum tik hain, app kaise ho"

"tik hain, hold on" Arp paused

Geet waited, because was busy with some other person, when she Arp received back "di, ap kya ho"

"Main.., main toh hospital main, kiu Geet"

"app yaha aa sakte ho"

"abhi, kiu tumhe kuch hua hain" Arp asked in concern

Geet nodded with shaky voice "nahi, wo Anni di, Dadi ghar peh nahi hain, mujhe bohut daar lag raha hain, app aa sakete ho"

"Okay, phele tum darna maat, aur main ane ki kosis karti hu"

When Geet kept the phone, when she looked straight, got startle and step back with fear.

Maan was standing with the waist coat in his hand, he heard her conversation with Arp, from Geet's face he understood that she was frighten, he didn't meant to startle her, just now he reached home from office. He left to his room without saying anything to her.

An hour had passed but there was no sign of Arp, Geet sat in the sofa with the leg crossed, it was now her highest of patience, fear was increasing. At last she went upstairs, standing outside the room thinking she should knock or not, and finally she knocked faintly and took 3 step back thinking of consequences. When there was no response, she turned to back and at the moment the door opened.

Maan opened the door and went back to his laptop without looking at her. Maan already called Arp and got to know that she couldn't come, because of some emergency. After few minutes, Geet was still standing outside the door; he knew that she will not say a word, because of his anger personality.

Without removing eye from the laptop Maan said to her "ake soe jao"

Geet was still standing, outside thinking, because these days she hadn't seen him shouting with her without reason. And slowly she walked inside without removing her eyes from him, and did not making a single sound and got on his bed. She didn't want to make him angry, even these days she kept her bunny out of his sight, because Anni said he doesn't like animal. But she was scared he will shout at her, without reason like that day when she was going to Karan's house. Even she asked Anni about that day, she ignored it saying it was his office pressure.

She looked around the room, it was the same room when she first time came in this house and slept in this room. Because of her hyper behavior, she fainted and Maan brought in this room. after that day she didn't sleep in this room.

Maan didn't take his eye off the laptop, but he noticed her every move. He looked at time was almost 2, Geet came almost half an hour but still she didn't sleep just kept tossing.

"kya hua?" Geet almost shrieked out, sudden Maan voice.

"Woh..." She hesitate first "woh humhe nend nahi aa rahe hain, humhe kahani ki bina need nahi ati, woh di..."Geet stopped

Maan shut the file angrily and was going to shout at her and stop, making fist in his hand, remembering the Anni 's word while going time she pleaded him not to shout at her.

"Aake band karo aur soo jao" Maan said rudely and left to washroom.

From his harsh tone, Geet got it that she made him angry again; she regretted that she shouldn't say but couldn't help either because Dadi or Anni will always tell bed time stories to her.

When Maan came back, he saw her eyes were closed, which means she slept. He looked at her childish behavior that she made the doll sleep next to her. Maan went to recliner and closed his eyes trying to not to think about Geet, because she always resemble to Ashima, which he never liked.

When Maan wake up, first he saw Geet was staring at the ceiling, he looked at time it was 6.

Geet felt Maan moving, she immediately closed her eyes.

"What the hell" Maan frowned at her behavior, so she didn't sleep, she was pretending.

Suddenly his rage hit him, he stopped immediately himself gritting his teeth. Took the clothes from the closet and walked inside the washroom, shutting the door loudly to wake Geet enough .

When the door closed Geet slipped out of the bed, she couldn't sleep whole night.

Maan came out she wasn't there in his room anymore, it is good for her he thought or otherwise anger was boiling inside him, any moment his anger will burst on her because of her counterfeit behavior. Damn it he threw the towel angrily in some corner of the room, then why didn't she said to him then his logic brain said once she told him that she couldn't sleep because of bed time stories, he felt it was utterly rubbish. Again he tried shun away his anger. But somewhere it didn't make sense to him, then why did he let her allowed to enter his room to sleep. He start the engine and left to his office angrily.

For Geet after her parents passed away, she couldn't sleep whole night maybe even 2-3 nights until her tiredness hit her.

When Maan reached office, first he called adi to get a lady maid for the house

Adi was confused because HP was one of loyal maid; he was serving more than 10 years "Did nakul left?"

"No, Don't ask question, do as I said" Maan said looking up from project file, almost gritting his teeth

Adi didn't ask anything he could easily understood today his boss mood wasn't good, started to leave

Maan stopped him "yeah, one more thing, she should know how to tell story"

Adi was stunned for a second, because in his boss family no one has kid who will listen to story, he shrugged off and walked away do the work as he told.

Geet's whole day passed as usual but at night she couldn't control her fear. When she told Mami, she ignored Geet saying that she was a grown up girl. When she didn't find any other option she went Maan 's room directly. Today he kept the door open, he was busy in the laptop. When she entered his room, he looked at her once, tiredness was visible from her face and again back to laptop.

Geet was staring at Maan for long time, these day he never shout at her like before, but she could feel he was angry from his face, because she never saw him smiling for once.

Her thought went back to uncle, aunt when she was with them, they always were unhappy with her, every single little thing they used to taunt her.

"Geet" Maan raised his head from laptop to the sobbing sound.

"Kya hua?" He ran to her side, and sat beside her, today he didn't shout at her either, than why was she crying for. He didn't get any response except sobbing,

"Geet" he made her sit in the bed, His concern increased; he knew what she went through in her life "do you have pain? Should I call Arp?"

Geet nodded negatively, he was confused what reason she was crying was.

"toh kya hua?" he asked her again

"App humse naraz ho" she said crying, he was shocked at her word "hum toh abhi ghar se bhar nahi jate"

Maan closed his eyes as if someone hit him with knife, he never meant to do that, it was just for safety, that day she almost going to hit with bike because of her carelessness and moreover he thought she was going to ran away from house. So He couldn't control himself to shout at her.

"Aur bu..bunny mujhe di nahi diya tha" She continues between crying "aur main uss...uss din jan buke glass nahi tora, woh toh galti se tot gayi, aur di aur Dadi ney jan bujke glass nahi tora, woh app mujhe nahi daate issliya tor diya"

Maan kept staring at her confession, he knew that day they purposely broke the glasses.

"Agar mujhe naraz tho mujhe dato par di aur Dadi key koi galti nahi hain"she said everything in her hiccup

"Main kisise naraz nahi ho" Maan said when she finished

"toh..app?" She paused, she can't see any kind of anger on his face but neither happiness.

"Toh..main" he raised an eyebrow at her question.

"toh app udas kiu rahte ho?"

"main asa hi hou" he answered plainly, got up from the bed, gave her glass of water.

Geet kept looking at him, because she wasn't satisfied with his answer.

"Ab rona baad karo, bahut raat chuka hain, so jao" he tried to answer gently to her, went back to laptop.

After few minutes he looked at her, her eyes were closed. Today also she was pretending like yesterday or she slept.

"Geet" he called her to make sure.

She slowly opened her eyes at his voice.

"Do you want to listen story?" he asked her.

First she nodded positively, then suddenly she nodded no.

Maan noticed at her facial expression, first she was excited to hear, but suddenly it changed into sad remembering the yesterday incident.

"yesterday I had some work but today I am free" he said may be she will be agree,

Geet was in deep thought whether to accept the proposal or not.

"hmm" she nodded

He started to tell the story, looking at laptop "Once upon a time..." And finished in 5 minutes like news. and looked back at Geet who was staring at him with o' shape mouth.

"Kya hua?" he asked

Geet start laughing without fear "ase tori nahi kahani kehta hain "Suddenly she put palm on mouth from stop talking, Maan became angry, she became alert and stop laughing, hiding her face under duvet, she didn't mean make him angry, the way he said she couldn't stop laughing.

He control his anger he didn't want make her insecurity, he never said story to anyone in life, and he started slowly once again "Once upon a time there was a .."

Geet innocently pulled down the duvet from the head, because she couldn't resist when she heard his soft voice again.

Maan finished his story, Geet was sleeping peacefully. He lean on recliner and looked at her, her every features was like Ashima. When Ashima ran away from the house, the badi dadi insulted her parents so badly and due to shame they couldn't face them again. After Ashima death Maan never meet her parents or neither had he allowed his family, and he almost forgot that Ashima had a sister. If Adi wouldn't have given him full detail about Geet, may be he wouldn't know never knew about her. Because he had seen a her two time, first time when both Ashima and Maan went to Ashima's parents house, Geet was 3years old. After coming from there they had a fight with the doll, which Ashima gave her doll to Geet, but Maan took it back. And second time he had seen her at hospital, but at that moment he wasn't in a condition of noticing anything .

Lovely dear.. now that u gave hints in regard to maan's behaviour we can understand him better. And geet is super cute yaar how she made her place in everyones hearts. I simply loved it.
