I m on spree reading your works but unfortunately couldnt comment on any of OS except for this one now and also SS "Destiny's Game" and also "Not So Innocent" as the threads were locked down. Loved reading every stories which were again so different from one another. But i loved Geet from "Not So Innocent" the most, she was simply kick ass there. Wish to read stories on such psycho Geet, she was a treat there. LOL
To Be... was one which got lump in my throat seeing Maaneet separated and the sad ending. But was written really nicely.
But this one story just left me shocked beyond imagination, in fact shock would be an understatement here. Cos neither the title nor the start of the story or heck even that beautiful song "Aashiqui Tum Hi Ho" gave away that Maaneet are not together here and Geet is no more. It looked like a dream to me suddenly when i reached the part where he comes home n cut the cake himself (which i really found very weird at start) n suddenly this line He cut a small piece and offered to her. Except she wasn't in flesh no more, she was just a picture. this lines was something that just wiped the grin off my face which i had since the time i started reading this story. It took me some minutes actually to sink in the fact that Geet is dead and i had to read the story again from start. The way he kept thinking of Geet, that she would be angry at him for being late, him going to get the cake by threatening the woman n buying simple chain as a gift n in b/w those small small flashbacks just really dint me feel that Geet wasnt alive. I m sad over the part n cried to knowing she is no more but i also cant help but smile at the fact that how Maan kept her alive and still made her part of his daily life as if she really was staying with him. And yes i have read OS where Maan is shown dead mostly but this is the first time where Geet is shown dead since the start. I really was crying by the end of it when he adopted Maansi cos Geet bonded with her well n may be cos of that he too instantly felt the connection with her. In spite of it being a sad story i really liked it for the way you have written it. Simply beautiful.
