Part 14
He ran away from the humiliation... By his father... Getting beaten infront of your own beloved... Nothing could have been worse than that. Tears ran down his cheeks. His bruises aching with pain and his legs giving up due to exhaustion... He couldn't run anymore. His knees gave up as he fell to the ground... Defeated and feeling unworthy. Failing his family and love... He could hear cars honking their horns behind for him to move. He just couldn't. He was emotionally drained. Cars, bikes passed by while his world came to standstill with the realization. No Geet. He just wanted to jump infront of any car and die then and there. Then everyone and everything could be peaceful and safe. His Geet would be safe... From the monster inside him. He sighed slowly standing up. Determination and fire in his eyes to keep her safe... To die.. To relieve his father of guilt and burden., most importantly to prove his love. He closed his eyes as he blindly walked along the road, missing the cars and bikes by inches. Embracing the sinking feeling, he waited for his destruction. Except it didn't come as he expected. Harshly he was pulled back to reality with the memory of her, her confession. As a car stood inches away, he felt someone grabbing his hand pulling him. He smiled. Slowly realizing. Maturation coming in him with the thought. Building his strength. Reconstructing his determination.
His achievement... Her love
His inspiration... Her confession
His will to live and love... Geet
A sudden rush of adrenaline inside his veins as he truly understood the meaning of love. Her acceptance... His greatest gift. He swayed slightly as he felt a tight grip on his wrist. A heavy weight lifted off his shoulders as he came face to face with Nakul, their care-taker of farmhouse area. Farmhouse... Brought great memories. He smiled as he remembered her as Pink Shaitan... Their playing games.. Her hide and seek... And then yesterday night... His face contorted with self loathing. Wrinkles on his forehead as an aura of darkness prevailed over his face. A tight slap on his cheek snapped him out of the dark path he was trodding about. He looked horrified and shell-shocked at Nakul. Kaka..He rasped his throat dry. Nakul looked angry.. Very angry. He yanked Maan by his arm as he picked up the grocery bags and called for an auto-rickshaw. Reaching their destination, he pulled Maan inside farmhouse. He gave the bags to one of the servants as he pulled Maan further to his room. He made him sit on the bed as he stared at him angrily for a whole two minutes before turning away. It wasn't his place to reprimand Maan. Please don't inform Dad right nowMaan rasped throatily, his voice heavily loaded with emotions. Nakul nodded. The boy needed to cool down and calm his raging emotions. He needed to be alone.. To come upto few realizations, grasp the reality and ward off suicidal thoughts. No more suicidal thoughtsHe ordered making Maan guilty. Maan hung his head low as he accepted his order, more as a elder brother than a care taker. Nakul breathed a sigh of relief.
He walked but Maan held his hand looking at him timidlyI... I am hungry.
Nakul smiledI will make you some foodHe patted his head and left. Maan dropped his form on bed and closed his eyes exhausted.

Don't leave me pleaseShe panted as he settled her in his lap. He slowly tugged her closer, hands around her waist, tightly wound holding her still.
NeverHe whispered nuzzling her neck and collarbone with his nose. He trailed open-mouthed kisses along her neck as she gasped letting out sweet pleasurable moans basking in his love. His head lifted off her neck, his eyes hooded with desire... Drawing her in his spell of love... She leaned closer towards his oh-so-kissable lips. Just mere inches away from his lips, her eyes lifted to meet his to witness the depth of his love but were shocked instead. She shifted in his lap gasping as hatred covered his expressive eyes loathing her proximity. He pushed her away, screaming I hate you... Don't ever show me your face...Pushing her into pools of darkness, scaring her as she stared shockingly at his changed demeanour pleading him to change his decision. Slowly she closed her eyes in defeat as he forwarded his hand to touch her., she flinched and fell into the dark abyss.
Geet woke up with a jerk, perspiring. She flinched away as she felt someone touch her shoulder. She looked up to find Maan leaning over her sleeping form. He carressed her cheek slowly, lovingly... Enchanted by her beauty as though finally starting to accept she is for him only no matter what. Yet all Geet felt was a repeat of her dream.. Err nightmare that terrified her very much. She moved away from his hand looking away. Maan stared at her forlornly before anger lacing his beautiful facial features. He grabbed her hair, fisting her messed locks in a tight grip, anger oozing out of his stance. She struggled to get out of the bed although weakly. He pulled her closer, forcibly leaning closer... He planted a kiss on her forehead ceasing all her movements. She was still and shell-shocked. Good morningHe breathed out hotly breaking her trance. She stared at him wildly as he closed his eyes calming his raging hormones and walked away. She left out a breath that she didnt even realize she was holding since he grabbed her. However it was short-lived as he turned back near the door,Get ready... We..He paused seemingly thinking for a bitneed to be at a restaurant in..He paused again looking at his watchIn half an hour gritting his teeth a bit. He seemed angry still. He didn't like being interrupted from his morning session of wishes and...kisses, she realized. Huffing she got out of the bed to get ready, wondering about this sudden visit to the "unnamed restaurant".

It was their first anniversary of marriage. Maanu was happy...very happy. One year of being Mrs. Maanu Rahul Shekhawat. She had ordered for a gift, a picture of them together, at their marriage.. Smiling looking in each other's eyes in love... Or so she thought... The picture was framed in glass and wrapped. She held it carefully as she opened the door to his office. But what she saw just broke her heart. Rahul had a girl on his lap, making out furiously. The gift fell off her hands as the glass broke. Few pieces piercing her hands. Rahul broke away from the girl pushing her away. He was shocked, eyes filling with tears of regret... Tears he didn't realize were because of the hurt he caused to the love of his life... Love he didn't realize... Yet. The girl looked at Rahul with a seductive grin, swaying her hips to catch his attention she walked.,..no pushed Maanu walking all over the photograph stomping her six inch heels over their faces in the picture. The forlorn expression over Maanu's face built an emptiness all over his heart. The hollowness consuming whatever desire that shit of a girl seemed to build in him. All he could feel was the pain filled eyes of Maanu witnessing his betrayal and the shattering of glass beneath...seemingly their relationship as well. Maanu stepped back finally feeling the brunt of reality, wincing as she stepped over the glass. Rahul stepped forward as Maanu showed her hand stopping him, him revelling in her pain. He stood back restlessly as she stepped out of her flats giving him a heartbroken smile, she ran away. Damn!Rahul punched the glass desk, throwing all items over it.. Breaking it into pieces... Blood flowing out endlessly as he stared at the bloody footprints Maanu left. Rahul finally got a grip of the situation as he looked over what he did and then their broken marriage picture and then at the calender. He didn't even know as of yet why he did that. Why he reacted so violently... He was always like this... He was all about this... Player, money, betrayal... What was different now? He felt heavy waves of regret rolling of him. He felt her hurt... Her heart broken... Her pain... Her love... Love... He gasped. Throughout the whole facade for Khurana property, he had actually fallen in love with Maanu... Deeply and irrevocably. He fell on his knees regretting the pain he caused her. He sprang up immediately, ready to beg for her acceptance, for forgiveness, for a second chance... For her love. No way in hell was he losing her.
He banged the door of their bedroom. Maanu open the damn door! I need to talk to you... I l..love y..you... Just give me one chance please... Please just open the doorHe slid down the door breaking down waiting for a response but to no avail. All he heard was her sobbing which broke his heart. He smiled slightly realizing the irony... The one girl with whom he acted to be in love... Had actually managed to make her way into his heart... Out of all the girls he tried to love, he had to love the only girl he married for money. What a paradox! His reverie broke as she stopped crying. He was about to break open the door, when he realized she was talking with someone... Over phone. He waited for her, sitting by the door. Suddenly, the door opened, and Maanu opened. Her eyes red rimmed, masacra smudged tear trails adorning her beautiful face. We need to go... Geet and he... Are getting engagedShe spoke. Her voice ice cold shocking Rahul as did her eyes staring at him directly and emotionlessly.

Vicky pulled up five packed suitcases as Daadi arrived walking down the stairs all ready but unwilling to leave. Geet smoothened her skirt coming out of her err...his room. Her gaze fell on the suitcases, she was shocked. She rushed towards him, shaking himAre you going..She looked at the many suitcasesSomewhere? She gazed at Daadi longingly as Maan arrived out of the guest room, fixing his tie. Yes we are goingVicky paused as Maan glared at him, specifically at Geet's hand on him.Somewhere...He finished grimacing. Who else?Geet asked masking her longing. Vicky was taken aback. He didn't expect that question Umm... Daadi... Me andHe paused afraid to hurt herMy parentsHe sighed. She was hurt. They didn't come here...She blurted out before thinking. Maan broke the uncomfortable tension between themCome on you guys are getting lateMaan ushered them to go although he was surprised that Vicky's parents coming yet not meeting them in the mansion. He questioned Vicky through his eyes but Vicky pretended to not notice. Vicky was hiding something, Maan thought as Vicky drove away. Geet looked on in the direction they went I hope you got your bags and...other thingsMaan smirked. Geet blushed unintentionally as she realized about all the 'other things' he got along with her bags. Hmmm...She replied composing herself. Hmmm...He mimicked her pulling her close but she brushed his attempt flinching away. Day by day he was coming close, dangerously close...scaring her...weakening her resolve and resistance... Her feelings. And she by all means was determined to not let him do so and so she did...staying away from him, his touch, his feelings, his effect.
Maan stared at her angrily clenching his fists. Closing his eyes he breathed in and out calming himself. He opened his eyes smirking at her. Come onHe walked towards the garage showing her his bike. She stared at the bike and then at him in horror as he smirked devilishly.

Next day
Geet waited for Mohinder to go for his work. Unknown to his daughter's intentions, he finished his daily chores slowly wanting to spend more time with his traumatized daughter. Still ignorant to the fact that Maan was her remedy. Geet shifted from foot to foot impatiently as he ate his breakfast. He washed his hands, picking his laptop, files and briefcase walking over to Geet. She was restless. He frownedWhy are you so restless? She fumbled. Should I stay?He was worried. She reached up and kissed his cheek No Papa... Just come back soon... Bye...Take care She pushed him to his care. You too take care babyHe was suspicious but didn't question further and left.
As soon as Mohinder was out of her sight, she sprinted towards the landline calling up MaanuHello Dii... Its me GeetShe was hyper.
Yes Geet!Maanu exclaimed.
Did he come? Did he eat? Is he okay? Is he taking rest properly? Hmmm? She fired questions at him. Maanu was dumbstruck. Uhhh...She fumbled.
Geet frowned worried. What's the matter Di? He is at home na? She was getting paranoid now.
No!Maanu snapped informing her harshly about Maan's absence. She didn't mean to snap at her but the mention of Maan just disturbed her.
The phone dropped from her hands as Geet's lips quivered with shock, terrified and concerned with fear for his well being. W-wh-at? H-h-o-ww?She sobbed silently cursing herself. It was all her fault. Only if she hadn't told Shekhar uncle about the night, Sanjay uncle wouldn't have known and wouldn't have belted Maan... And he wouldn't have run away and gone missing. She sobbed. It was all her fault, she loathed herself.
