6. Twists and Turns
I got my first salary today. Some of my close friends here asked for the treat and we decided to meet at club that night. Glancing at Maan's cabin I saw him engrossed in some file. It has been almost a month after that painful rejection and from then I behaved only professionally. He was surprised at first but dint comment. Everyday I saw him with new models which tightened the pain in my chest. But nowadays I m able to control my feelings, may be the attraction faded away. There are plenty of fishes in the sea.
It has been too long that I went to a club. My nerves were so excited for this nite. The club was filled with loud music and dance. Some of my friends came with their date which left me lonely. Chole said she will meet me straight at the club. I was wearing a V neck knee length cocktail dress adorned with stones and beads below the breast area. Courtesy: Choles collections. My hair was tied up in a bun, but I left some strands to fall my face.

Maan's POV
I heard Geet giving a treat to all in this club. So make sure everything is fine, I came with some of my friends and my so called date, whatever is her name.
Geet was the most beautiful person both in and out I have ever met, after my Mom and Maya. I was trying to ignore my attraction but damn, that day I couldn't resist any more. That beautiful kiss made me realize that I had fallen in love with her, which scared the light out of me. Yes! MSK is scared of relationships. I have seen my best friend badly falling in love with a woman whom he thot as wonderful. But at the night before their wedding, he saw her in bed with the bestman which broke my friend completely. She was after his money. After 2 days he committed suicide which shook me completely. From that day I lost the trust in them completely. Sensing my withdrawal, Mom and Maya helped me to prove that all girls are not like her. But sumwhere that trust was lacking, until geet came in my life.
I thot Geet dint like me, but the kiss proved it wrong. I noe she is nothing like that b**h, but what if I was not able to commit sincerely. When she started to behave professionally, I realized that I lost her. She dint feel anything. To forget her, I started my playboy ways again, but dint bother to look at the face of those bimbos I dated. It was just a publicity stunt.
I saw her sitting alone, she looked ravishing. The dress complimented her glowing skin and hugged her figure in all right places. I admired her long sexy legs and was irritated to c men's eyes following her way.
Suddenly her face lit up when she saw a girl, same age as of geet, came her way. They talked animatedly for some seconds and the next minute Geet was hugging a man who accompanied her friend. What the hell!!
Geet's POV
I saw u with a guy yesterday, who is he?
What??
The guy u met at club. Is he your boyfriend?
He looked angry and pale for some reason.
U mean chris?
That means he is your boyfriend.
Now his expression turned dangerous.
U can't go out with him.
And who are u to say that. U r just my boss, not my father.
Exactly, I m ur boss and I concern for my employees. He is not good for u.

I slapped his cheek with so much force that it left imprints.

Chris is Chole's brother and he treats me like his baby sis. They are the only family I have.
His furious eyes widened and guilt flashed across his face. But I don't care a bit.

Don't. I m not a type of person who will go behind someones back. Honesty and trust means so much to me. But u wont understand all these things who consider relationships as trash. I have never met such a cold hearted pers..
He pulled me towards him, and his mouth covered mine without warning. I should stop this. His lips were tender, arousing and drawing out response he needed.

Is he psychic? But his mouth again covered eliminating all my irrational thots. When my palms covered his chest to push him, the electric feeling made me break my promise almost.

I pushed him with so much force, that he landed straight on couch. Turning my back, I walked straight towards door, but something stopped me. Maan was not responding, his eyes were closed and his skin white as sheet.
Maan..
I rushed towards him and shook him, but he was unconscious. He is burning with high fever. Oh god!! y dint I notice. What I m going to do??
Doctor said that it was just a viral fever and prescribed some medicines and rest. He is still unconscious. Other office staffs who helped me left sometime ago when doctor assured them. Maan's family is on the way from Italy. They went to c Maya.
Geet
I blinked my sleepy eyes, Mr. Khurrana? Oh!! I m still in hospital.
Good evening Mr. Khurrana. How was ur journey?
Safe and good. Thanks for being here Geet.
Its my duty sir. Afterall he is my boss.
I met doctor and he said Maan can go home. His mom and sis are with him.
He is awake?
Yeah. Just now. Come.
Before I could protest, he dragged me inside.
Geet is here.
I looked at Maan's pale face. He was smiling seeing his family caring him like a baby. I looked around and saw an exact replica of Maya, but an older version. Their mom!

Now I noe from where Maan got his humor sense. She hugged me tightly and I was lost in that motherly hug.
Maan and his dad always speaks about u. Maya is a huge fan of u.
She broke the hug and kissed my forehead. I was overwhelmed to speak anything.
After some chatting, I decided to leave. Entire time, I stole some glances at Maan and he was staring at me intently. but I dint dare to speak him.
Giving a last glance, I walked outside followed by Maya.
So geet, how is it going between u two?

I then walked away, from Maan's life forever. What I m going to do with my life!!
