Chapter 19

Vicky was sitting with Maan in a meeting. It had been going on for some time now. His phone buzzed and he saw it was Geet. He cancelled the call and texted her instead. He kept looking at Maan but he was busy. Geet asked him to come for a chat as she wanted to introduce to him Riya and Armaan. Vicky needed a pretext and asked Geet. She thought and texted Vicky. He smirked at his friend's cunning idea.

Vicky put his phone back into his pocket and waited for a moment before clutching his head and moaning in pain. Maan and the clients looked at him.

"Vicky, what happened?" Maan was at his side.

"My head is going to explode. It is throbbing so badly." Maan did what Vicky anticipated. He excused himself from his client and lead Vicky to his cabin.

"I'll call the doctor."

"No need. I just need some rest. Maybe half hours sleep?" Vicky hoped Maan would buy it. He didn't want to lie to Maan but he wanted to talk to Geet and who knows when he would get the next chance?

"Ok, lock the door so no one comes in. I'll tell Tasha no one shall disturb you." Maan went and Vicky locked the door. He closed the blinds and did a little dance. He opened his laptop and put on his head phones.

Geet was with him within minutes. They felt nice seeing each other after so long. Vicky complaint about Maan. He kept asking her how she could stand him. She laughed and showed him Riya and Armaan. The three of them had a nice chat at which Riya told Vicky she was thinking about doing business studies. Vicky told her about his old college and that he would be glad to help her. Armaan was a little prankster. All the time when Vicky was talking to either Geet or Riya he would make faces behind their backs. Vicky burst out laughing a couple of times. Then there was a loud knock on his door. Vicky quickly closed his laptop and opened his door. Dev was standing there with a glass of lime juice.

"I thought you had a headache." He handed him the glass.

"I did but it is much better now."

"Any why were you laughing so hysterically?"

"That" Vicky tried to invent.

"My friend said laughing is an instant remedy against headaches. Thanks for the juice." Vicky gulped down the liquid. Dev didn't believe him. He knew Vicky and probably he had just tried to wiggle him self out of doing work again.

"Tell this excuse to someone else. What were you doing in here?" Vicky sighed. He could tell Dev, couldn't he?

"Ok, but please don't tell him." Vicky pointed towards Maan's cabin.

"I was chatting with a friend of mine. You know her perhaps; she used to work for him. Geet." Dev looked up.

"Geet is your friend? How come?"

"What is going on here? Are you better now Vicky?" Maan was standing there with three files in his hands. Vicky nodded but that was a mistake.

"Take these. I want you to be done in an hour otherwise you are staying till ten again." He left. Dev's phone ringed and he dropped his phone when he heard the news. Maan rushed back and Vicky asked him what happened.

"Naintara" was all he managed.

"Congratulations, you are proud father of a little Angel." Dev held his daughter in his hand. Every one was surrounding him trying to get a better look at the cute girl. She was sleeping and Naintara asked for her baby. Neither Dev nor Naintara wanted to decide for a name prior to the birth. They wanted to have a proper name giving ceremony and hence it was arranged the next day after Naintara's return.

Vicky had been on cloud nine after seeing Dev's daughter. He wanted to share his happiness with Geet but was reluctant. She had suffered from a miscarriage not vey long ago and she still hadn't shown any signs of sorrow towards her lost child. Maybe seeing Naintara and her baby would make it all come out.

Maan had held his niece in his hands. The little girls had opened her mouth to for o-shape.

"See, she is impressed by you already" Naintara had said and everyone laughed. This baby fascinated Maan. She was so small and delicate, her skin soft as a feather. Her eyes were dark just as Naintara's. At a point Maan tickled her tiny feet and she began giggling. He smiled.

"Look at him." Maan's mother was talking to Dadi.

"Yes I can see it Divya. The way he is looking at her. Maybe he will come out of his sorrow now and move on."

"I really hope so. This Samira had left no stone unturned to ruin him. I just wish he finds his happiness again."
