Hey there!
Hello Guys😳
Here I am...with another chapter!!!

Okay; some announcements first...
I had many a doubts regarding how did Daadi maa know about Geet.
Well; as she said herself...she had found Dev in tipsy state last night and got it out of him😉

Also; my lovely readers I am glad most of you'll agree with me to pass a bill in the Parliament to ban Maan Singh Khurana's lethal smirk and charge him for wearing sexy cologne😆 He can be the death of us😳

Another important thing; I have been catching up and reading all your comments on my OSs but am not being able to spare time to reply. But trust me; as and when I can I will gradually reply to all of them!

Now no more bakwaas; direct update.

The Tangent

A trigger down that path

Out of the circle at last

As the circumambulation ends

In a whole new world life descends...

"He still does."

Geet murmured sadly; knowing this topic was a hard limit they hadn't ventured into since they met again. But then; it had been a hard limit even then!

Hard!

It was impossible!

At last Geet had put her hands up and surrendered to the task of getting Maan Singh Khurana to dress up for a final formal take of her film. The stubborn man might have bent here and there at her whims but he just didn't listen to this part!

"Okay Maan. I give up. But please at least wear formals"

Geet pleaded sitting across his bed where he was engrossed on the laptop. He sneered at her from behind the screen and scowled.

"What a bargain Geet, from bold shouty coloured designer shirts to formals"

He mocked closing the notebook and Geet bit her lip.

Okay, there was a bit of glitch in her dressing up' Maan mission. She didn't really need him to dress up for this particular shot but what harm in trying to make the boring man wear some dynamic clothes. And seeing him in designer shirts which would hug the hot-bod in delicious places was a deep routed fantasy of Geet (A secret she didn't even acknowledge to herself)!

"Seriously Geet; hard luck! Try harder next time"

He drawled walking into the washroom to get changed. Geet only made a face behind his back irritated before making her way to the terrace where they would be shooting this part of the interview.

"Seriously Geet, hard luck!"

She imitated him sticking her tongue out and continued up the stairs.

----------------------------

"Ready. Rolling"

She put her thumb up.

Her words terrorized Maan even after a series of shots. But somehow he had learnt to manage his reactions .To control every nerve in his body. You don't need to be confident, just act confident'; her words came back to him and he was ready to act.

"Tell us your plans for the future"

Geet gave him the cue and winked at him mischievously.

"Plans. An MBA would always plan to be an entrepreneur."

His crisp answer rung.

So straight forward. So sharp.

"And what is your aim?"

Geet reframed her sentence frowning at him; making those cute-angry faces at him. Maan was amused beyond amusement seeing her seethe behind the camera but not being able to utter a word lest she spoil the frame.

"To earn the world. Climb the steps to such voracious success that no one can pull me down. I want to conquer the field I have been dealing with. Business. Not just because I owe it to my heritage, but because my interests lie here. Moreover, I want to deal in business ethics which have lost footing in today's scenario. It's a shark's world; business, they say. I want to prove that the shark can be fair too."

He paused looking at Geet with an expression of foreboding. She put her finger to the stop button but didn't press it for some reason. Maan continued, assuming she had stopped recording.

"I want to win every race Geet."

He paused.

"For my parents. I want to catch hold of that spiraling business that deterioted after Dad's demise. I want to take the burden off daadi maa. I want to give Dev and Annie the best of best. Especially Annie..."

He trailed as a dark sorrow came over his beautiful face. He had spoken all the while not knowing his latter speech was recorded too...

"Maan your siblings..."

"No Geet. Don't go there."

He declared standing up and turning towards the railing lining his terrace parapet. Geet walked over to him and only stood beside him, leaning on the railing. The late afternoon breeze washed over them as the subsiding rainy season gave way to a drier climate. Palm trees, tall and intimidating swayed to nature's tune in the backdrop and a fiery pink sun hovered above the Arabian Sea in the distance.

Flights took off above them and the churning of helicopter rotators drowned the silence now as evening settled in slowly. She could see the helicopter disappear in far horizon of the sea like a bird flying down into nothingness...

One day; she knew Maan too would leave. He was here for a short period of time...

Her phone rang bringing them out of the serene moment. Geet picked it up on the second ring, fretting at the caller ID.

"Hello"

"Oh shit. I am on my way"

Her voice panicked over the phone and Maan jerked, alarmed at an otherwise calm Geet's fretting reaction.

"Is everything okay?"

His concerned voice sliced through her tension and she snapped putting her phone shut.

"Yaa. I need to go..."

She slurred.

"Geet listen to me...I'll take you"

"Please Maan, I need to go. Please just...uhh...I will explain later"

That said, she rushed down the stairs leaving a hundred dry questions in his mind.

"It's decided Maan; I am hosting a family dinner tonight"

Daadi maa declared and suddenly Geet realized she was not a college student shooting a documentary on a certain gallant tyrant's terrace anymore; she was but an engaged woman sitting in the gallant tyrant's house being scrutinized by his grandmother...

Could life get any more complicated?

"What's the need for that now?"

Maan argued walking back into the den; clearly life was getting complicated!

"There's all the need in the world! Both my grandsons have found their matches...they didn't tell me that's a different issue and the way I found out is another issue altogether. But the bottom line is that they have found their happiness"

Daadi finished dramatically with a sigh and a half smile knowing that her hand at her heart had won her half the battle. Maan knew all too well to not fall prey to his grandmother's antics but he just couldn't ignore the chirpiness in her voice this morning. As if she was a young girl full of enthusiasm. Probably in years past he had never seen this sparkle in her; maybe never ever had he seen it in retrospect...And that made him want to prolong the cheer cacophony of hers. And maybe take a chance with Geet to get back to him.

He looked at a silent Geet and she seemed to give him her narrowed-eyes' look.

Go on now; tell me this is for daadi maa like the date was for Dev...and you Maan Singh Khurana' cannot decline!

Her eyes seemed to mock him; half smiling too at his predicament. Finally he nodded a yes to the clamoring old woman who continued ranting her own reasons as to why should she throw a party to celebrate her kids' commitments!

"No parties daadi; we are coming only and only if its family"

Maan declared equally intimidating.

"To see you smiling, even if only for a moment I would go to any extent beta"

Daadi maa said dramatically but Geet didn't miss the sentiments behind that voice that she so tried to hide.

For a moment Geet couldn't surmise which of the two was more authoritative. Because both succeeded in finding their ways with each other! And that was an end to the discussion. And a beginning to another chapter in their lives that neither Maan nor Geet would realize until the evening to come...

------------------------------

There are times when life comes to a point from where the course changes. The circle splits and you travel in such a direction from where there is no return whatsoever. A tangent. When a periodical life zooms out of its geometric path; a tangent is traced. One that never comes back to its original circle.

It is a change vastly unadaptive.

Her circle too had come to such a point. Like eight years ago it had started moving through a circle of superficial joy and grief; undercurrent of melancholy still lurking; nowadays it had thrown itself in the other direction. Especially this particular day.

Sitting by her office couch with a cup of mocha and plain sheets scattered across her coffee table; Geet twiddled with her pencil which was apparently destined to sketch out a story board on those scattered sheets. Somehow the disturbance of two days; especially last night and this morning was affecting her job...and this Geet couldn't take!

Taking a deep breath she put her pencil to paper and started from the scratch. Pushing every other thought aside she immersed herself into the story sketch completely. After a glorious forty minutes of perfect symphony and harmony; her former deep breath had paid off as Geet looked at the rough design and scribbled notes with a child-like smirk on her face. She was about to tip the leftover chocolate syrup from her cup when Ella peeped into the small room.

"Heyya Geet! We going for a sandwich down the street...care to join?"

She asked chirpily and Geet nodded without another thought; completely out of memory of Maan's orders.

"Cool! See you down in ten"

And she left as speedily as she had come.

Geet smiled to herself before getting up, happy at the completion of the rough draft and exited at the prospect of spending some time with her new colleagues. Suddenly she remembered Maan's threat the other day...

You are not, and I mean it, not to step out alone until I settle this mess.

I swear Geet, the next time you pull such a stunt I'm going to tie you to my bed

And colour drained out of her face for a split second. But then the defiant streak that ran wild through her veins came to the fore front and she stood up like a martyr.

After all it was only a meal down the street with her colleagues! Which fool would be sitting outside her office waiting to shoot her at gun point? Maan had been paranoid and rubbed off the neuroticism on her too for a day or so. But she was made of stronger soils...Geet Handa! Flicking her hair behind her shoulder in an act of defiance, she picked her bag up and started down the path to that tangent.

------------------------------

Breaking laws and defying rules had never been so blissful, not even during college!

Geet thought with a smug grin. Maan Singh Khurana could all but stuff his big-fat-sky-rocketing ego in his pocket and get lost! She was no baby and here she had proved it. She had a comical urge to text Maan that she was out on lunch but thought the better of it. For some reason, though she didn't want to admit to herself; Geet was scared of Maan's reaction even when she was safe and in one piece.

After a light sandwich and chips meal her colleagues had turned to the bar for a drink since it was Saturday. Geet, being the experienced' of the lot found it convenient and safe to turn tail between her legs and retreat; lest she repeat the other day's episode. She'd swear she would never drink like that ever...the pounding in her head was still a fresh reminder. On top, there was another battle front ready tonight at daadi maa's!

Then her phone rang and she rummaged her bag for the ringer unable to find it in the dishelmed purse.

"Mom"

Geet sighed as she plastered the Black Berry phone to hear her mother's chirpy voice.

"How are you too mom"

Geet chuckled at her mother's urgency to tell her all about the shopping she had done for the wedding. Geet had given her mother the task of shopping her trousseau for the wedding citing time constraints. Only her heart knew it wasn't about time but every dress, every piece of jewellery that she would see, that would remind her to wear it for someone else. And that reminder was a constraint.

"Yash has ordered his suit. Didn't he send you the picture?"

"No mama...okay maybe, because I haven't checked my inbox"

Geet replied walking casually down the isolated street way past lunch hour. The street was uncannily isolated for the busy commercial area. But it was just past lunch and a Saturday which meant most offices were shut.

"And how have you settled in the hotel? Food and all is good or do you want me to send ready-to-eats?"

Geet suddenly halted with a lump in her throat. It felt as if living with Maan was a sin; and she couldn't tell her parents which made it even more criminal. She was trying to deal with the mess that now involved even Maan's family for which she had to lie to hers.

"Geet are you there?"

"Uhh yes mom...I.."

Whoosh!

A shot misfired whizzed past her head and Geet shuddered. Suddenly the adrenaline built up and phone still plastered to ear; her mother panicking on the other end of the world; Geet rushed before another bullet was fired. She thought this would be the end because she didn't know where it all came from. All of a sudden she bumped into a rock hard chest with high momentum and rebound with gut wrenching fear before silently praying him to be her savior...

Alas! But Life isn't a scene playing down a film...

He wasn't Maan, he wasn't her savior...

He was but a menacing, black face-hooded; gigantic perpetrator of hers who picked up his knife to stab her. Sinewy giant body of six feet plus, he looked sheer terror with a black hood covering the face. His fingers were curled atop a dagger that glinted in the noon sun and hovered right above her. Still reeling in the moment of terror, Geet froze at the almost nearing end. She could feel the fear again, the one she had felt years ago when the waters of a fierce river were all over her and the last wishes and chants too couldn't save her chokes. Then came her savior; the man who had rescued her. And now suddenly that scene by the river seemed as real as Geet felt her stomach knot with the knife firmly gripped in her assassin's hand. End was just round the corner...She wanted to fight but her body froze in shock.

But again there were bound to be twists and turns in real life too!

Especially where Love was involved and where Maan Singh Khurana's intelligence network was challenged.

Geet screamed dropping her phone as the knife was about to strike her at the chest when she heard a punch and some ribs cracking.

The knife clanked to the hard cement pavement, clattering over her Black Berry.

Her phone lay on the ground with her mother's panic stricken pleas while Geet saw Maan wrestle the mighty black-faceted giant. Straight out of his office in a grey waist coat and matching stripped tie, he seemed to have walked out of a glossy business magazine. Only if it wasn't for his face, which at the moment was coiled in rage; with blood shot red eyes Maan punched and kicked the man in places, he would never recover. Ever. Geet could see the possession on his face, the obsession with which he fought. The assassin punched Maan square in the face and Maan rebound with shock for a second. He staggered with a bout of pain clutching his torso where the gaint had delivered a blow.

"Maaan"

Geet shrieked in horror while she saw another fleet of cars making their way through the street which now had a sizeable audience. Maan looked back at her, anger circulating at enormous pace through that clenched face and a dribble of blood oozing down his ear to the jaw. From the corner of her eye she saw another man running down the back stair well of a small building with a bag pack, but before she could protest he was chased down by one of Maan's MIB.

Without another glance back, Maan turned and kicked the assassin who was lunging to retreat by cutting his losses. Next, the giant's shins received a near fatal kick and he staggered backwards after one fierce punch. With a final blow the killer was disillusioned for a moment before Max arrived and pulled him up from the ground; efficiently fastening his hands behind his back.

Geet looked on dreaded as the team picked up the assassin, incoherent from Maan's recent assault and dumped him in one of their cars like a chip of filth. Maan looked on, deadly as a beast whilst his security hurried him a first aid. But the stubborn man he was; Maan refused. And no one dared to pursue again. Even Geet couldn't bring herself to utter a single word, let alone force him.

The blood had come to dry by his jaw, caked in his side burn as he stared at her un-flinched. His temple already showed his recent accident scar and now he had more wounds to deal with. Nut those weren't of any significance this moment...He stared hard at Geet, she looked back and there was that pain again. Angry pain.

"Maan I..."

With his hand he gestured her to stop.

Walking towards her with a firm gait in spite of having fought a wrestler Maan took hold of Geet's hand and started walking towards the car. She didn't protest, neither did she resist. Not because of the incident that lay behind them, but because she knew something had changed that moment. The attraction and love from youth had taken an obsessive turn today. He might not harm her or anyone else; but she knew for a fact that if she walked away this time he would take the harm upon himself...like he had years ago when loss had rummaged him.

And this realization planted more problems than it solved.

------------------------------

Unknown to the scared damsel out of an attack and the possessed business man who'd fought like a beast; the Black Berry remained on the ground with a battered knife clanking over it on the spot of crime; while the speaker at the other end gasped in shock.

------------------------------

He couldn't trust himself; couldn't control himself. All that coursed through him this moment was raw boiling rage. He wanted to straddle someone, to punch the guts out of someone! Hell, to punch the guts out of the bas***d who attacked Geet. Moreover he wanted to pin down the tyrant little stubborn woman sitting beside him and tell her to follow orders.

But dared if he looked her way!

Maan knew he would snap control and do things that would pang him down forever. He was not in his frame of mind; hence he did what he needed to avoid her. He kept driving. Cutting through light afternoon traffic with another security car following closely behind, he headed straight to the hotel. The safest place to keep her was there. His pent house.

Geet on the other end was quite, contemplative. She wanted to say so much and yet the shock of the assault was overwhelming. What could she do to tame the anger in Maan? She had gone over board; defying his orders at every twist and turn to prove her point would have cost a great deal to them. It would have cost a great deal to her. She wanted to live, had to live.

For a second she shuddered; not under the heat of the incident but under the coldness that Maan's persona exhibited.

A fleet of cars lined outside La chanson told him the main gate as usual would snatch their privacy. The incident was under wraps and he knew his team wouldn't leak any news but there was a sizeable audience. And making to the headlines and dragging Geet into the mess was the last thing he wanted.

Maneuvering the car; he turned to the basement back gates and brought the car to a screeching halt below. The private basement was dark, glowing mildly in the lamp lights; shuttling between a private heaven and hell. The smoke hung down; basement smell invading his nostrils as he stepped out without a glance in her direction.

Suddenly Geet realized they had stopped and instantly scooted out only to find Maan at the far end with his team of MIBs. Max didn't seem to be a part of the team and Geet remembered he had taken to sort the crime scene. Her eyes squinted as she adjusted the light and her traitorous body swayed to the stress. As stress would have had it; her back started pounding and the muscles heated to snapping knots...Oh the signs of ageing!

She was twenty nine, going towards thirty and the amount of stress she had witnessed in the last three days was immeasurable. In all her years of maturing from a girl to a woman, this was one problem she hadn't learned to tackle...Her conversion disorders.

Geet was still lost when she saw Maan make his way towards her. With a frown marred deathly expression on a clenched face; he walked towards her with long strong strides and her throat dried in anticipation. The moment he neared, she anticipated him to kiss her; to haul her in his arms and fuse his beautiful mouth with hers; to take away the insecurity and reassure them both. For however long she had loathed and regretted his kisses, this moment stood testimony that she wanted to get lost.

But then, when do you ever get what you want?

Instead of kissing her, he steered her by the elbow and made his way down the alley to the elevator. The pang she felt that split second was probably worst than any guilt she had ever felt after being kissed by him.

With a shove into the elevator, Maan drove up to their pent house; all the while staring coldly at the steel door ahead. Geet only dreaded in silence with every hotel floor that passed by. The elevator held sensual memories of a day ago and the electrifying spark ignited in the present moment didn't help things! His madness too it seemed was hot and sensual.

The elevator door opened with a ping and suddenly the tension knotted between them.

Stepping out of the elevator Maan waited a second for her to come out. When she stood there silent and lost, he simply bent down and hoisted her over his shoulder in one easy motion and started walking down the alley to his house. Geet was shocked and then appalled at the man's audacity; screaming and pounding her fists down his lower back. He all but ignored her pleas; opening the door with his swipe key and a quick code while his other hand clasped her firmly at the thighs.

"Maan what the hell are you doing...leave me...get me down"

Her please fell on deaf ears as he continued down the den and into the bedroom...

Heating the scenario up; ain't I now?
SO how did you'll like it? Maan all trussed and caveman😳

PRECAP (Since I am in the best of my moods):

"Maan you..."

Her words ended in his mouth as he consumed them whole; plunging and tasting the saucy smart-ass mouth with his hard one. She moaned and bit his lip in defiance; trying to fight him and prove her point. He bit harder in turn, making her feel pain mixed with pleasure at the assault. Their tongues seemed to have using a language of their own; fighting and moaning...giving pain and buying pleasure. They dueled for what seemed forever like blood-shot battle ready warriors until she was breathless and Maan let go before losing control. She breathed in much needed air before his mouth attacked hers again.

This time he plundered her lips with slow sweet torture, licking and suckling until she opened up of her own will. They kissed, real hard and pressing and for chosen few moments they were all lips and tongues and sweet, sweet torture before he released her. All the while he'd held her captive underneath him.

"How dare you go all caveman on me?"

"Chup. Bilkul Chup"

Wow!

This update covered so much territory..👏 I don't know where to start. First of all, for this one Frosty, no complains on the length of the update 😆
Since you have already done all the story telling, I will only focus on the writing part.
You have such finesse in writing that I can visualize it all. From the tension in the elevator to the thug on the street to dramatic Daadi to the passion filled precap.😃
There is never a moment in reading your updates that I want to skip even one line.
To me someone who can hold the attention of the reader over every word and sentence has truly captured the essence in writing. Not only do you do this but you do it very very very well.
Superb update! Loved it all.
Thanks for updating Frosty.
If I ask for more and more, it is not my fault😲 but yours😃
