Plagiarism
As we all know Plagiarism is taking place all over IF and Geet Forum isn't lack of it.
It's something that needs to be addressed to in this Forum strongly or this forum will lose its precious writers. Many have left due to this!
Ask yourselves this.
Do we all want Geet Forum to diminish away?
Do we want to our writers to shift to blogs where only a few readers are given the pleasure of reading their works?
If this carries on then you kiss GF goodbye.
Some don't understand what signifies as plagiarism.
Copying and pasting work that isn't your own is one of them. This is the most common way that is passed off here. Some call it inspiration but it's not inspiration but plagiarism.
Taking a story and changing the names and crediting the original doesn't mean it's allowed. It's not! It's still plagiarism!
Its Stealing!!
Doesn't one feel hurt when their belonging is stolen off them?Like that it hurts us writers who spend our time despite the million odd jobs we probably have.Most writers that I've talked to are either mothers, wives, working or students etc..
Which reader doesn't miss their favourite writer who has left due to plagiarism? In this Forum many of our favourites left due to this.
What I don't understand is how some readers disrespect the writer's efforts? How can one still support plagiarizers?
Just so you can still read you continue to support them? Is this Forum lack of writers? There's many so why not try their FFs out?
The time and effort we all put in and to see it copied and posted off by some loser hurts us to such an extent that it kills our passion for writing. Atop of that seeing readers encouraging the copycat to continue is even worse. Is this the amount of respect you give to your favourite writers?
Some know that the FF is being copied by another yet you carry on supporting so you get something to read.
It's a request on behalf of all the writers who write for you all, please if you spot plagiarism report it! At least they'll know their efforts and time on the ff hasn't gone to waste.
Inspiration is something which inspires you to write your very own with your own words and ideas. We've all been inspired by Maan and Geet to write up our own fan fictions. This is called inspiration.
If we were to say Maan and Geet was our own characters that will be wrong as we hadn't created these two characters. The creators of GHSP did.
I myself am inspired by the tons of books I read, The Escort Business has been inspired by the book Disgraced - Saira Ahmed. Nor the story line nor a scene, not even a paragraph has been copied, everything has my own wordings, characters, plot etc... This is called inspiration!No need to be ashamed to say you've been inspired, you won't tagged a no brainer!
If you write badly then read FFs/ Books to improve yourself. You don't have to go and steal work because in the end you are caught by someone or another.
One more thing. Stop supporting Plagiarizers! The only reason they continue is due to the support they get from readers. If you deny them they'll hopefully get into their thick brain to stop and write something original! Instead of stealing other's works.
Please do not take any names nor blame anyone or this topic will be closed which is something I don't as plagiarism needs to be stopped in this Forum. Share your views on it but please do not start chatting here or it'll be closed down.

Very true Tanya..

Each word you have said is right and its high time tat we do not support any one who goes with such ideas of plagiarism.

i wonder why readers support such writers who just steal the hard work done by many and get the credit but its a shame tat you do such crime an say you have never done or the readers dont have any problem.

Hope people learn this fact and stop plagiarism and get creative and help GF to be a better place.

nice post tanya. Its true that how the writers feel when their hardword has been stolen by others in the name of inspiration. It effects the creativity of the writer. Its with the readers also who read the stories and check whether it is copied or not if so then they should not encourage such writers.

I agree with you completely!!! sometimes as reader its difficult to really understand which one is the stolen piece and what is the original one but yeah I definitely don't support it...Stealing or copying someone else's writing is not acceptable in the name of inspiration...
