A month later
I could not understand what was taking so long to arrange a simple secretary. It has been 3 months since I had one proper secretary. And now to add to my problems my assistant architect has also left, she is getting married this week.
It was not that I am not trying to arrange for these vacancies. I have given an advertisement for both post in the newspaper.
"Adi! Adi" don't worry I am not shouting, I am just calling my accounts head, I sometimes have to shout even on the phone to break his reverie
"Ye'Yes Si.. Sir" he said from the other side
This guy still stammers like a new employee, "Adi come to my cabin along with Sasha and also bring those CV's and test sheets, if I remember you have taken the written tests of the candidates for the selection"
"ye.. Yes Si' Sir"
"Adi make it fast"
This was taking too long, like this I will have to do things on my own. How far can Pinky share both receptionist and secretary duties, and without an assistant I have to do all my work on my own. My thoughts were broken by the knock
"Come in" Adi and Sasha came in, "finally you two take your seats, let's make it fast"
We three studied the 27 written sheets and again restudied the CV's and finalized 6 candidates for the assistant architect post; as for secretary post was concerned all CV's were bad, either they were too flimsy or they were too professional.
It was decided that the interviews will take place tomorrow and they will be taken for a team of four, Adi the accounts head, Sasha the company secretary, Dev the structural head and Anwesha the interior Head.
"Mk you will not be there for interviews" asked Sasha
"No Sasha, I am bored with these continuous interviews, you all go ahead"
"OK, Good Day MK"
"Good Day Sasha, Good Day Adi" as the two left I was relived, I took the 6 written sheets I had asked them to leave behind.
One particular sheet demanded my attention, the sketch was of simple fort.
The fort looked very familiar and the architect who had made it also had a familiar hand, the style followed was the same that I practice.
May be the candidate came from the same school of architecture as I did.
Interviews went well and the appointment was done. The panel decided that the candidate appointed will also fill in the secretary's place till the appointment for the same is made.
My cabin was a huge one with glass brick partition dividing it into two, in one part was my cabin and the other was my secretary's. it had 3 doors. One which opened directly to my cabin connecting me to rest of the office, second connected the secretary's section to the office and pantry and third was between my section and my secretary's.
