he would hav thought about it before.. has he realised it! He was too busy in hiding & denying his feelings to notice that he was hurting her! Still he used to feel bad for treating her like that..but sadly he never thought that the extent of hurt will be this much! And as u said..that he was able to read her eyes even in that 1sec of eye contect..that shows that he truly cares for her! And thats why he is feeling guilt of hurting her with no fault of hers..as it was his mistake that he has started to feel diffrently for her.
