PART 3

Someone from past is staying in the same house as hers and this fact was too fictional for Geet to digest. She has read in mythology about all these curses and other similar stuffs but never thought something like this could happen in real life. She was skeptical about Maan but his behavior his way of talking everything supported him being from the past. She thought it would be fun but she actually didn't know what she should do. Should she contact police or media? But Geet was well aware of what will happen to Maan next. He would be a showcase piece and people will pay tickets to see him. Before the government is convinced that Maan is from past he would be half dead. Geet decided to take it smooth. She asked him to take a shower and ordered someone from the office to deliver men's clothes. Well her asking for some men's clothes made her secretary gasp in horror and didn't reply for a couple of minutes until Geet screamed. Everyone knows that Geet stays alone and is very well single so the whole office was discussing this 'Why Geet needs men's clothes? 'As if the country's safety depended on it. It wasn't too late when the news reached Shaleen and his other two musketeers. Poor boy who was already confused about Geet's absence in the party was getting indigestion feeling in stomach hearing the latest gossip in the office about Geet and men's clothes.

Geet's phone flashed Shaleen's name for the 7th time and she didn't bother to pick and for the 8 Th time it was from office's phone. Geet was sure it was from Shaleen yet she attended because she wanted to show him that she is avoiding him.

" Geet Handa here " Geet said in her office usable tone

" It's me Shaleen " he said

" Yes Mr.Shaleen how can I help you ?" Geet asked

" Geet it's me shaleen " he repeated not accustomed to Geet's professional voice

" I heard it the first time. Is it anything official? " She asked

" No I was wondering why you didn't show up yesterday " he said

" well I was in a mood to celebrate valentine's day and my boy friend was home so we were ... busy " Geet added the last word after a pause giving shaleen all time in the world to run his mind in dirty tracks. She lied smoothly. She didn't want shaleen to know that she knew the truth and she is probably affected by their betrayal. She didn't want to be weak in front of him.

"Boyfriend? "Shaleen chocked the coke he was sipping

" Yeah so? " Geet said in a duh! Tone

" Ohk I was wondering ... " shallen was trying hard to find a proper response when he heard a male voice in behind shouting something in Hindi about not being able to button up a shirt .

"When you can undress so efficiently why can't you dress up fast " Geet shouted to that someone making shaleen to almost throw his phone down to shock.

When Geet looked at the phone the call was already disconnected and she was giggling looking at it. The total boyfriend thing occurred to her instantly and she knew nothing could work as best as this idea.

"Geet ji yahan aaiye "he heard Maan shout
( Geet mam come here )

Geet went to the room where he was getting dressed throwing the phone on the couch.

" kya ?" she asked leaning on the closed door
( what)

" yeh kapade jo aapne diya ye kaise pehante hai? " he asked worry clear in his voice
( how do you wear the dress that you gave me ? )

Well that was something Geet didn't expect. We can't blame him though come on no one used to wear jeans and shirt in olden days so probably he will not know. Geet could teach him but what if she suddenly entered and he was all naked.

" are you wearing the pant? " she asked

" ji? "
( sorry)

" black ... umm how do you say black in Hindi ." she thought for a while before running to the couch to pick her phone

She clicked translate tab in Google and typed the sentence.

" tum kaale kapade pehane ho? " she asked
( you have wore the black dress? )

" ji woh toh ..." he said
( yeah that was...)

" fine i m coming in " she pushed the door open only to break in fist of laughter.

Maan was a sight to crack up. The right arm of the shirt was inside his head and one hand was sandwiched between his head and shirt. Geet controlled her laugh and removed the shirt from his head. Maan immediately moved his hands to cover himself that made Geet laugh more.

" haat do " she said
( give me your hand )

" ji hum aisa nahi kar sakte " he looked sown quiet embarrassed
( i can't do this)

" come on i have seen better... ab haat do " she said
( give your hand )

" aap ek ladki hoke humare haath nahi choosakte ye paap hai " he said
( being a girl you can't touch my hand its sin )

" yeah right " Geet rolled her eyes. She was said that ancient Indians used to be very conservative but for her his inhibitions seemed baseless and irritating.

" haat do " she said in that intimidating tone that she uses on staffs if they don't achieve target.

Maan helplessly gave his hand to her and she helped him wear the shirt. She buttoned up for him and she noticed that his jean was unbuttoned. Now that was quiet difficult for her to tell to a stranger. So she made a mental note to teach him to button up his shirt and pant later. For now she didn't tuck his shirt so it covered till the end of his zip.

Maan was looking at himself in the mirror. He looked different.His usually rough hair was neatly combed and his beard was now trimmed stubble. His tilak with red powder was long gone. His clothes were replaced by something which he has never seen before.

" hum teek toh lagrahe hai par yeh kapade toda ajeeb hai " he wondered
( i look good but the dress is wired )

" Let's go " Maan heard Geet's voice from behind and he immediately straightened himself and turned to look at her.

Maan examined Geet carefully. She was more or less dressed like him. Ash grey pants with baby pink shirt. He wasn't used to see girls in this kind of dress. His thoughts weren't perverted but he felt uncomfortable looking at her. And moreover she was the first girl who looked into his eyes while talking and that being very new to him scared him quiet.

" hum kahi jarrahe hain ? " he asked looking over her shoulders not wanting to look into her eyes.
( Are we going somewhere?)

" yup " she answered stressing the 'p' while fiddling with things in her bag.

" ji? "

" Hum office jarahe hai ... i mean jahan mein kaam karti hoon " she said still not looking at him
( We are going to office ... i mean the place where i work)

Maan was standing in the front of the gate holding the bag that Geet gave him looking around in awe. All the houses were different and very close to each other unlike his time when each house is small and considerably distant from the other. There were no trees that gave him a suffocating feeling. Everyone was dressed like him and he found it difficult to differentiate men and women for all looked similar to him. Women wore clothes like men and some men had long hair. Maan felt dizzy taking in the details of his surroundings it was too much for him to understand in one day.

Maan was startled when a big moving thing halted before him from nowhere making him lose his balance. He wondered if any enemies were trying to attack him. His jaw dropped in awe when he saw Geet getting down from that 'moving thing'.

" yeh kya hai? " the words left his mouth even before he thought of saying it
( what is this? )

" car " Geet shrugged

" ji? "

" it's like chariot ummm rath " she said coming to stand near him

" ek jage se doosre jaga jaasakte hai " she said
( we can go from one place to other )

" sach!! Yeh aap chalayenge ? " he was amused
( really!! You will ride this?! )

" Of course " she said opening the door of the passenger seat for him.

Maan settled uncomfortably and began to examine things inside that so called 'moving thing' . Geet bent down to buckle to seat belt when he jerked suddenly pushing Geet when her hands accidentally brushed his shoulders. Geet's head hit the car roof making her moan in pain.

" dumbo " Geet remarked caressing the place where she hit her head.

" humin maaf kardeejiye " Maan was guilty
( Forgive me)

Geet gave Maan accusing glare before slipping in her seat .

" humne jaankar nahi kiya " he said
( it wans't intentional)

" Whatever " Geet said irritated

" ji? "

" kuch nahi " she said
( nothing)

" mein aapke saath jaake kya karunga ? " he asked after some time
( What will i do going with you ? )

" woh sab mein baad mein kahoongi ? " she said concentrating on driving.
( i ll tell you later)

Geet's car was one of the kinds that had windows that didn't permit the person inside to look outside. So Maan was entertaining himself by looking at Geet and the things she was doing.

The car pulled off after few minutes and Geet took long breath.

" ab tum wohi karoge jo main kahoongi" she said with a serious tone
( now you will do whatever i say)

" ji" he said genuinely

He was expecting her to give him really tough and impossible tasks like may be leading the war as it was what he had been doing in the past so he was eager to do some fighting after long time.

" So ready fake boyfriend " Geet let out a meaningful laugh. Maan didn't understand what she said but it definitely didn't give him positive vibes and he looked at her hopefully.

I was so right in reading this one for sure
Man this is gonna be fun not for maan though
Poor him he is so confused to be here
Plus geet ain't helping in some things
But what got me was shaleen thinking of her boyfriend and what they might be doing
Especially what he heard
And then having to dress maan up
Gosh that could lead to some embarrassing moments
Poor maan was like you cannot touch me its a sin
Man geet main ka poora faiyada uthanewaali hain
Haiyye this shall be rocking
Can't wait for more now
