Geet hummed as she cut the thread of her embroidery…..finishing the final touches on the chunari…. She looked satisfied with the outcome…..

Geet di…. Shouted Raji as she barged into her room…. Ahhh kitna kubsoorath hai yeh…. She exclaimed taking the chunari from Geet's hand…. Apne liye banaya hai Di??? She asked teasing her…

Chal choti… yeh todi na mere liye hai…. Ye tho mene Neetu di keliye banaya… 3 din me unki shadi hai na…. thofe me dungi… she said as she took the chunari from Raji's hand and carefully folded it and placed it on the table….

Par tumari shadi bhi jalidi hai na Di… said Raji in a small voice…

Sab ko ek na ek din shadi karke jana hai choti…. Tumara bhi hoga…. Wo sab chod… tum yaha kya kar rahi ho??? Kal rath tum tho yeh keh rahi thi subha 8 bajhe utungi.. par ab tho sirf 7 baje hai??????

Han han…. Par need khul gayi thi di… aur me yahan aapke pas aagayi…. Di…. Kal bohot mazza aya… kash Darji or papaji mahine me ek bar ese bahar jaye aur hum yese mazza kare….. she chirped…

Man stood in his study glancing at his brother and Samira….. He had called them in but dint know how to start…… he inhaled deeply and decided to start the conversation….

Bhai I don't know how and what happened last night…. I never drink… all I remember is Bhabi taking me to my room and giving me water…. That is all…. Dev said in a pleading voice….

I cannot Maan she whispered… I am not suitable for you anymore she whimpered… as her tears wet his hands…

Dev stood as a mute spectator to all this… he felt extremely guilty for what he had unknowingly did….

Listen Samira…. Just remembered that we are engaged and nothing is gonna change… you'll be my wife and that is final… as for this… I am confident that my love will make you forget what happened last night… end of discussion……saying he left the study… he needed to go to office for some urgent work… though he felt bad for doing this… he knew this was needed…. He had decided to take few days of break after the marriage so he needed to rap up some work….

The three women left the house in an hour and reached the mela…. All three enjoyed with Raji jumping and trying out all the rides and Geet and badi ma buying some embroidery stuff along with bangles and earrings…. The three ladies reached home by 3…

Geet aur Raji 2 gante me hum khet wale ghar ja rahe han… tayyar ho jao… said badi ma…

Vahan??? Aur wo bhi akele?? Par badi ma… started Geet…

Geet tu ja na…. me ne in sab ke bare me socha hai… ab thoda aram kar aur nikalna bhi hai na… saying badi ma left a very confused Geet….

What is wrong Dadi yelled Maan as he rushed into the house… he saw Dadi sitting worried on the couch… her eyes were filled with tears making Maan very restless... Dadi…. What is the matter…? He asked again mellowing down….

Dev she whispered….pointing at the other direction… Maan moved to see what she was so upset abt when he was shocked… there Stood Dev and Samira with garlands on them….

Bhai… I married her…. Sorry ….. Dev said looking down ashamed of everything…

What the hell yelled Maan as he reached Dev and clutched his collar….. how could you…. Why did you????

Maan Chodiye…. Cried Samira… it was my decision… I cannot marry and live with you knowing that I have split you both… I have lost my dignity to him and married him…my parents too feel the same she said looking at her side… Samira 's parents sat there looking sad but shook their head in approval… Maan left Dev's collar and rushed out side the house not paying attention to the callings of his grandmother… he took his jeep and headed in some unknown direction……

After two hours the three women left the house with a small bags of provisions and a pair of clothes each… as soon as they reached the house Geet stood shocked….

Tej verji she screamed in joy… lucky Veerji she said again and ran towards them…. They were her cousins…. Her mother's sister's kids…… they were her brothers and loved her… this was something that Brij could never give these two girls…. Darji had cut all relationship with them after the death of Geet's mother and father….. She was seeing her cousins after 3 years….. Tears of joy flooded all their eyes as they hugged each other….. it was night when Geet removed the packets of provisions and set out to make dinner…. She smiled as she knelled the dough… she was gonna love this night and remember it for her life…. now she was not sad any more on her prospects of getting married… she was so happy that she could die today... Badi ma came in and helped her… they both finished it and took it to the terrace…..

Yadh hai badi ma... said Tej… jab Geet 5 mahine ki thi… thab hum yahan aye the….. kithna accha vakth guzara humne… he said resting his back on the compound wall of the terrace..

Han… beta… wo bhi kithne acche yaden thi…. Said Badi ma remembering

Tujhe pata hai Geet… teri Papaji hume yahan lathey they…. Har rath hume ma aur masi khana kilathi aur dadi hume kahaniya sunathi…. Puri rath hum chath pe hi sothey….. aur pura dhin hum kheth pe kelthey rahte….. par unke mauth ke bad…. He stopped as he saw Geet's eyes tear up….

Arrey.. aaj tho hum hain na…. said Lucky as he side hugged Geet…. Nayi yadhe banayenge…..

Par aap kal ja rahe ho na… kyu moaned Raji...

Are chotti kal aapke pita aur Darji a jayenge... aur gao me kisi ne dhekha tho….. Everyone understood what he was trying to say...

Dhekho bhaccha log… mujhe bohot bukh lagi hai…. Khana kayen…. Saying Badi ma started feeding her children lovingly…..

Maan sped his jeep not knowing where he was going…. He was angry….. how could they he thought…. Why dint they tell me…I could have helped… why did Dev destroy his life along with Samira's and his….. he understood that night was a mistake…. But why marriage…… his mind thought of possible ways to understand this marriage.. but none turned up.. irritated he drove more towards the unknown….. it was nearly 5 hours but still he was no where to stop… he was outside Delhi for sure… but where was the question and he was in no mood to answer….. his eyes saw beautiful fields as he passed by… but the darkness dint help in appreciating it… darkness outside and inside….. He was so deep in thoughts that he dint see a lorry coming towards him…. But when he was aware of it…. he turned the steering wheel without reducing the speed, making the jeep ram into a huge tree… the lorry moved away not bothered by what just happened…..

Geet and her cousins were enjoying their night.. when their peace was disturbed by a sound….

Lucky chal.. kuch hua hai road pe said Tej getting up….

Beta dhayn say…. Said Badi ma giving him a torch light…. The brothers moved out of the house to the road…. There they saw a jeep rammed into a tree and the driver unconscious on the road…. They lifted him and took him into the house… Lucky checked the man and declared that he was not hurt seriously…. Badi ma and the girls got to work cleaning him and covering his wound on his forehead and arms along with his feet….. Tej and Lucky made him sleep on the bed and moved to the terrace to accompany their sisters and Badi ma decided to stay inside the house to help the stranger….
