Maan reached his office, but was in no mood for work… all his thoughts were around what Samira had said….
If they want marriage….then they would get marriage… he said aloud… he took his phone to make a call

Maan bete…. Sab teek hai na? asked Dadi
Dadi… I want you to be ready…. I'll be taking you to a house… I want you to ask Samira's hand in marriage for me… he said straight away….
Wwwhhhaaattt? Shouted Dadi… she was shocked to listen to this… but she was happy that her grandson had decided to settle down….
Dadi pls… I'm coming home now.. just be ready… saying he cut the phone… he call the driver and drove back to the mansion…..
Dadi ma was very happy… arranged the things needed and was ready. Maan came home and they left immediately… the driver knew where she lived… they reached there and Dadi alone went inside….and rang the bell…. She was welcomed by Samira's mother. After one hour, Maan's patience was really gone. He was so eager that any moment he would rush in side the house and demand an answer, but to his luck, Dadi came outside with Samira's mother and they seem to be smiling…. Dadi bid farewell to the couple and sat down in the car. The car drive was silent. Maan was waiting for Dadi to tell him something, whereas Dadi was not very impressed with the girl. There was something that was nagging in her mind. But she knew she couldn't do anything if Maan had decided marriage. They reached the mansion
Dadi…. What happened? Maan asked controlling the anger in his voice.
Everything is good bete…. They have agreed. Engagement will take place in 2 weeks time…. Replied Dadi….
Ok… saying he left to his room. He wanted to reach office and finish the work off. Now that one is done, it was time to concentrate on his office work….. He left the mansion to his office…..
When Samira came to know abt Maan's marriage proposition, she was in 7th heaven. She knew this was fast but it was needed…. She also planned to control her flings for the time being. She dint want to jeopardize anything now… 2 weeks passed by and the Kurranas and Shahs were all set for the engagement…. Samira got herself the most expensive outfit and dressed up very nicely. Maan was busy in his office work for the past 2 weeks and had left the entire work to Dadi and Dev.
Dev had comeback on the said day and had been very happy…. His bhai was at last gonna get married. May be he should also tell them abt this certain love interest also…. May be his to-be bhabhi would help him… he was really excited for the event and had really done a good job in arranging all the needed things….
The evening time arrived and all the guests assembled to bless the couple. Maan and Samira stood up on stage, after the initial speech, they exchanged rings. All were very happy and the engagement party was really a success. The Marriage was scheduled in another 3 months and everything was going on well.
It was almost 2 months after the engagement and Samira was getting cold feet. She had thought of Maan being some lover boy… but he was anything but that… in these 2 months, Maan had never tried to get physical with her, he had taken her to dates with their parents approval, he had always been on time, and he had been caring but very dominating…. He had made sure she wore clothes, accessories and every damn thing which he would approve. In these months she had come to know the real Maan and she was sure she could not satisfy her dreams with him around. But she also needed the Kurrana name to get what she wanted…. Samira was in a fix. Her parents loved Maan and there was no way they were gonna break the engagement….. She had to start thinking and that too fast.
Dev went to the outhouse to get Samira. They were to go to the party. He saw Samira ready in a purple dress looking stunning. He gave her a warm smile….
Dev… I'm really not comfortable in this clothes she wined….
Oh come on bhabhi….
It's Samira, Dev or you can call me Sam at least till the marriage she said smiling broadly…
Hmmm ok Sam… you look great come lets go…
Dev you promise to stay with me through out the party right?
Yes Sam I'll stay… moreover they are just close relatives and friends… why are you getting so worried???

Geet….. 2 din ke liye Darji aur papa Amritsar ja rahe hai…. Chirped Raji as she ran inside Geet's room….

What di… you know… when these two go out… we get the house for ourselves for the entire two days… Veerji is also out of town… I'm really really so happy. Look di... I have made a list of things we would do when they are not here… saying she pushed a page in Geet's hands…. Geet giggled as she went through all this… wow Raji… so let's start from today itself…. She said
But di… Darji and papa are leaving by 6 and we have to wait for the movie… it starts by 7:30 and gets over by 10:30 only…..
What movie? Tu pagal ho gayi hai kya? If Darji comes to know…. We will be finished… what will you tell bade ma?
I already know that... we 3 are only going today Geet….. Came the voice of her bade ma….

Geet puttar…. I just want to do this… we don't know how long you'll be staying here… I just want you to enjoy few days before going into another prison… saying bade ma caressed her head… Geet smiled and accepted to go to the movie…. Raji stood near the window waiting for it to be 6 and the men to leave….
Kurrana mansion was decorated in an elegant manner. Dev came in with Samira and Dadi introduced her to all her family and friends. Dadi was happy that her Maan had at last selected his bride. Thought she was not very confident abt Samira but still she agreed for her Maan….
It was around 8:30 and the party was in full flow. Dev was busy with his friends and Dadi was chatting with her friends… Dev had ordered a drink and the waiter was rushing towards him when he bumped into Samira… luckily the drink dint spill and it reached Dev. But after few minutes Dev started getting dizzy. He was about to say something when Samira held him.
Dev what are you doing??? She asked perturbed… you were not supposed to drink you know… she said
Wo… sam I he started to talk but dizziness caught on to him…
Dev just hold on to me… I'll take you to your room. Saying she led him slowly towards his room. There she gave him some water and made him lie down on his bed and was about to leave the room when Dev held her hand pulling her onto him…
Maan really wanted to attend this party… but due to this urgent meeting couldn't but lucky the meeting was over before schedule and he drove back home. He was really looking forward to see the surprised faces of his family especially Samira…. He smiled to himself as he parked the car and got out. It was already 1 am and knew all would be asleep. He took his bag and moved towards his room, crossing Dev's when he heard soft crying sound. He stopped and opened the door to see Samira in a bad state crying and Dev on the bed sleeping…… he dint know what to think abt all this… Samira was sitting on the floor and her body was wrapped around in a bed spread…. Her and Dev's clothes were scattered around the bed and she was crying placing her head on her knees.
What the hell is going on... Maan roared… he dint know what to think off all this….
Maan she whispered before she got up and ran towards him. She hugged him and cried again
Mene kutch nahi kiya… she cried…. Dev…. She hiccupped and tried to tell him.
Dev Maan yelled but he got no reaction from him. He gently pushed Samira from him and with 3 large steps reached Dev and shook him up. But Dev was in no state of getting up. Maan was worried looking at his brother. What happed here Samira he asked her turning around...
Wo Dev was drunk and I offered to bring him back to his room to avoid any embarrassment in the party but when I reached here, he pulled me and.. and… she cried unable to continue….. Maan was really frustrated… he dint know what to do… Dev never drank... he knew this… ok Samira just get dressed and go to your room and take rest… we'll talk tomorrow… he said as he took the clothes lying on the floor and give it to her….. Samira took then and slowly moved towards the bathroom. Maan closed his eyes praying for patience… he saw Samira in pain as she walked…. His brother had been a beast… he had noted the nail marks on the poor girl's body... what would Dadi say he wondered… how was he gonna manage all this... He knew Dev was not in his senses while doing this, so he cannot be blamed fully…. He moved out of the room as these thoughts roamed around in his brain….
