I share her sentiment about 99% of the time. But sometimes there's a magic in the way things come together and goals appear with sudden clarity and I just think... destiny?

I don't know, but I really like what the King in The Alchemist said about everyone knowing exactly what their destiny is when they're young and then losing it as they get older.

In my opinion, destiny is subjective. It's meanings, it's significance varies from person to person and from time to time for a single person. So at one point if time, I believe there is destiny, prewritten. What's bound to happen will happen but at other times I believe I can write my own destiny. Shape it the way I want it to be.

I don't know how I feel about the idea of the entire universe coming together for your destiny. The predominant experience I've had of this is when I'm at the risk of being late for something extremely important. I go by a minute by minute schedule in the mornings. I need to be exactly at bus stop X by 7:52, bus stop Y by 7:54 and the station by 7:57 for the 7:58 train. On the important late days, the train is delayed by exactly 1 minute, the doors stay open just 10 seconds longer, the buses on the other end fly through red lights...
