Geet shivered. She felt cold. Dead cold. She never ever expected him to say such things. It had been 3 hours since Geet had rejected Maan's proposal and his heart-to-heart confession to her.
"I don't know..." Geet mumbled to Jessie. "I told you not to mess with the brute" Jessie retorted playing with her pen. Geet shivered and pressed her palms to her chin.
"Look; he said what he had to say; you replied what you had to; it's the past; it's over" Jessie said comforting Geet.
She nodded but was not satisfied.
"He's so mysterious" she thought "sometimes he snaps at me and sometimes he's nice; he's such a mysterious man".
"Now don't mess your head..." Jessie said. Geet nodded but she was still disturbed.
"Why is he so mysterious and so shady...I fail to understand him at times..."
"Why...why does he always behave like that with me..."
"Geet! Geet! Down to earth!" Jessie said waving to her.
"Come on, I'll drop you home; MSK's thoughts are eating you up" Jessie said getting up.
"Hmm, wait for a minute; I forgot a book in the class" she said and got up; leaving a bewildered Jessie behind.
"Uh'okay" Jessie retorted after Geet's moving silhouette.
Geet was going to the classroom when she heard Maan and his mate discussing about her.
"...Man, no worries, you gotta get another girl" Vicky said. Maan scratched his head.
Hearing this; Geet wanted to eavesdrop; even though she knew it was bad, but didn't care.
"Damn, I don't know..." Maan muttered while Geet felt her heart beating madly as she hid behind the lockers.
"I really like her; she's extraordinary" Maan said and Geet felt herself blushing. "But dude; she rejected ya" Vicky said bringing Maan to reality. Geet grimaced.
"Man, I don't care" Maan said slapping Vicky lightly on the arm "as long as I know I've got weird feelings for her and as long as I love her' it's okay for me..."
"Man, are you sure you're feeling well...whenever a girl would reject your damn proposal you'd move on with someone else...are you sure you're doing well..." Vicky asked.
Geet grimaced.
"Dude, I'm fine, it's just Geet is amazing and I like her, I wonder why I'd go with anyone else when I dream about her almost every time" he said and Vicky nodded.
"Good thing that you're free now" Vicky said and winked. Maan chuckled. "I never thought breaking with Ally would feel so good...I'm a free soul now" he laughed.
"Wish Geet could see what you're doing just for her" Vicky said wincing. "It doesn't matter that she sees it or not; I know how I feel about her; that's enough...now let's go..." Maan said walking with Vicky and Geet quickly started to walk towards the classroom so that Maan wouldn't suspect her of eavesdropping.
Maan stared at Geet's brown eyes while Geet gazed back into his black eyes; she nearly went knocking to the teacher standing in front of her; as she was not looking for her steps.
Geet stopped dead in her tracks and mumbled to herself "what I'm doing...?!"
The next day in Mr. Moore's class; there was a long session of discussion and then the lecturer decided to paired the students for an one hour assignment on spot.
Jessie, Vicky, Maan and the rest of the class groaned apart from Geet.
Moore looked at the students and since Geet was sitting in front with Jessie and the next to them was Maan and Vicky; he paired the four of them together.
Jessie groaned. Geet felt her head exploding.
"Oh god; what you're doing" she prayed. Vicky winked at Maan who grinned back. Vicky grinned at Geet and Jessie but Maan did not show how excited he was to work with Geet. He just nodded to the teacher.
Moore went on pairing the rest of the class in group of four. Geet was cursing her luck while Jessie was cursing Vicky and Maan, the Brute. So Maan and Vicky moved to Geet's table who tried to keep herself from shaking when she saw Maan smirking.
Vicky whispered to Maan "we better make good impression by using long vocabularies" and Maan nodded.
"You guys will go to the library and search for books on the topic; meanwhile me and Jessie would work quickly on it; and you better be quick..." Geet ordered.
"As William Shakespeare said..." Maan said trying to sound intelligent "'alright'" Vicky continued and they both disappeared outside.
Geet looked at the with odd looks.
"Wow...Man, didn't we look cool and geeky using William Shakespeare's name" Vicky chuckled and hi-fived Maan.
They came back with tons of books and Geet and Jessie got working. "Thank you" Jessie said and got back working as Geet instructed her how to work.
"As William Shakespeare said you're welcome" Vicky added. Geet looked at him with odds and said "well, he might have said that" and got back to work.
"As Albert Einstein said nice..." Maan added and grabbed a chair and sat down watching aka drooling over Geet as she worked. Vicky noticed that and smiled to himself.
"Can we help you?" Maan asked and Geet nodded handling them some paperwork.
Geet sighed as Moore took all their assignments and went away as soon as the class was over. Geet crossed her fingers hoping that they did their best.
Vicky and Maan took their backpack and was leaving when Geet called "Maan...wait, I need to talk to you".
Vicky glanced at Maan who nodded and then he left saying "I'll be waiting you at the entrance".
Geet gave a shy smile and said "you were using those intellectuals name to look geeky, huh..."
Maan blushed and then got embarrassed and shrugged his shoulders not knowing what to answer.
"Well, yeah, it was a bit Vicky's idea" Maan said throwing all the guilt over Vicky. Geet looked at him and smiled "I like you the way you're...no need to go and try to become intellectuals..."
Maan scratched his head blushing and added "I wish you could understand that I was serious about you..." and left leaving a bewildered and hurt Geet standing'
