PART 2

Next day I got dressed and left my house. On reaching the venue I was handed a mask. I held it and went inside. "Oye Mr. Khadoos, you're supposed to wear the mask not hold it in your hand" I heard Dev say who came out of nowhere along with his wife. "So am I hearing it correct that Maan Singh Khurana is attracted to a mere girl", Dev said teasingly and I glared at Meera at which Dev said, "Stop glaring at my LOYAL wife". "Okay fine but stop teasing me guys", I said. "So will you tell us how did this happen?" Meera said with excitement visible on her face. Now it was my turn to tease them. "Not until I get to meet her" I said with a winning smirk on my face.

Meera took me to a corner and pointed at someone. It was HER, it was Geet. Meera and Dev wished me luck and disappeared in the crowd. Geet was sitting on one of the chairs near the dance floor where many couples were dancing on a slow number. She was wearing a purple dress and instead of a mask she was just wearing her glasses

Geet was sitting alone on those seats and looking at the couples with an envious look. I wore my mask which covered half of my face, revealing my stubble and lips, and went towards Geet. She looked at me once and then started to look at the couples. I cleared my throat and said, "May I sit here". All I got for a reply was a nod. I was feeling a bit awkward because I wanted to talk to Geet but I didn't know what to say. Geet was too engrossed looking at the couples to notice me. I wanted to talk to her but couldn't muster up the courage to do so. I laughed inwardly at my situation that the person with whom the people would die to have a word was here mustering up the courage to talk to a girl.

"Talk to her you idiot", someone whispered in my ear and I knew it was Meera. "What else am I trying to do? Just shut up and go", I whispered at her. "Yeah I can see very clearly that you're TALKING to her". "Okay okay. Now can you go", I was getting annoyed by her. "I'm going. And please DON'T tell her that I set you guys up or else I'll KILL you". Saying so Meera went.

"You know what, I love this song", I said something at last. Geet without looking at me said, "Me too" and kept looking at the couples. "So uhh will you oblige me with one dance as this is our favorite song?". Geet looked at me as if thinking something and after sometime she smiled and nodded at me. "Wow. She looks like an angel when she smiles" I said to myself and controlling my nerves I got up and extended my hand out for her. I felt a current run through my body which I never believed would happen except for fantasies.

We went to the dance with me leading her. I then stopped and looked at her placing my hand on her waist and she placed her hand on my shoulder. I just wanted to live in the moment. It was a bliss. I didn't know when the song ended and the new one began. It was the DJ's voice that brought me back to reality. I didn't want to seem like a desperate soul in front of Geet and said, "Thankyou for making my day. I think this was what I really needed". Geet was looking at me as if memorizing my features. And then she smiled at me, "Thankyou" she said and went towards the main entrance. This was indeed the best day of my life.

Geet's dress.. imagine it in a dark purplish shade and with half sleeves as well.. :P
