Part 18

Next Morning

Maan left for office early morning for important meeting. Whole night he spent, thinking about gift. He wanted to ask himself but his inner ego, stopped him and without saying anything, he left.

Geet, holding packet, was standing in her room, confused and lil worried. She was thinking from night and now wanted , answer of her doubt " who kept this here''. She went to nakul and called " nakul bhaiya''

" haa Geet''

she showed him packet " ye dekhiye.. I dont know who kept this in my room, yesterday ''

nakul looked packet and been confused too. " Geet have you checked ?? .. there should be any name.. sender name''

" no bhaiya.. here only written To Geet'' bas.. nothing more.. and look .. it seems very expensive too.. I dont think its for me. Who would send me gift and that too , like this. This much costly !!''

Both was very confused and both came on result, it was of Maan, but for any other Geet. Because, no one could have guessed it would be for Geet, a maid. Both decided to keep it back in Maan room. Might be some servant would have kept it in Geet room, seeing card. Geet kept it back in Maan room and in noon, she left for Orphanage, saying she would be back in some days. She was not going for ever. Being head servant, nakul gave permission, without asking Maan. Maan never needed any interest in this small small things of km. She left...

Maan was in office, very impatient. He was gazing his phone, seems, with eye contact it would start ringing, but alas!! It dint make any move. He pick it up and connected to reception. " pinky.. did Geet call ?? '' " no sir .. why ?? '' " nothing '' he cut. He stood from chair and started walking. He stopped, picked his mobile out and dialed km number. It rung. He cut. " kya puchunga Geet se.. ki did you like dress or not ?. Ase toh usse achha nahi bhi lagega toh kabhi mana nahi karegi .. I want to see happiness on her face , not hesitation '' he dropped his ideas and somehow, concentrated on work.

Geet reached Orphanage. when she entered, girls gathered around to meet her, ask her how is she. Some were looking her like alien as she was looking more beautiful and fair. Her feature became more attractive living better life. Geet felt so much happy meeting her family after long. After meet , she went to warden room . SD looked her and stood . She hugged her and blessed. Both sat and talked for while. Geet was observing, this place had became more better then before. It was not that poor like when she used to live here. After short talk she went her room. She found it was newly washed and cleaned. There was also bed for sleep as she always slept on floor. It was very confusing. She was lost when two girls came and took Geet with them. Geet well familiarized and forgot about km.

It Was Evening

Geet was sitting on terrace, on fabric mat with some girls. They were chatting, how their life changed after same night, Geet had run. How old warden , every day threatened them to tell how you escaped and how they all had to starve for days. But when she got arrested, and new warden came, their life became like a dream . Sd is very nice and loving lady. We all call her dAdima and of course, she is. And in all this, they were highly thankful for Maan Singh Khurana. Had not been he, then they would have been in hell, yet. Geet smiled hearing his name. Yes , indeed she knew about him. Girls were praising him and her heart, was feeling with more n more gratitude but it was short lived. Some girl started talking about Maan, in flirty manner and then Geet, unknowingly started getting irritated. She was wandering what happening to her but she, could not sit there and hear , more. " mai abhi aati hu '' she said and left .

At Night

All were watching movie on tv. It was big hall and only young girls, were allowed to watch till late night, so they all were engrossed. Hall was black and silent, only with film sound. Geet was gazing on screen and enjoying when, she started thinking about Maan. It was time Maan had to come back from office. She became worried, she knew Maan only liked, food made by her hand. He was used to know. She became restless. She stood and came out. She wanted to call nakul and ask about Maan but then brushed off, thinking nakul is there for him. She went to garden and sat on bench, lost in her past in km... with Maan...

At same time

A car stopped, on km entrance. Seemed, someone was in great hurry. A foot came out from car, followed by other and then both , haste to mansion. His face had smile and eyes had eagerness, for something, like he waiting for some happening since long. He stepped almost running and suddenly, stopped. He felt something a miss. His eyes was started moving, impatiently, all around and face had stress. He headed slowly, to hall. He felt it silent. He went to kitchen. It was empty, without breathing. His heart started ringing, alarm bell. He went toward store room. It was closed. He raised his hand, pushed slightly, it was locked. He turned his head, it had worry. His step walked to garden. It was alone, without life. His eyes became big. He rushed inside.. run to his room, pushed door thinking it was his last option... he found , his gift, on his bed, unopened, laying like dead body...
