As I am a writer as well as reader I want to comment on both. I agree with the writers in the fact that their stories even though have dark concepts or r**e scenes or mature content, they will give a warning and those who don't wish to read can refrain from reading. Also most of the writers whose dark stories I read have given less intensity to the r**e scenes or violence. I understand their P.O.V that teenagers are not unaware of the facts. But still I have a question why can't we make a difference by helping them? I am not asking you to stop writing dark stories, r**e scenes or mature content, but we can give it in a way that it will not affect the readers negatively.
I can understand Faiza's P.O.V as I too have gone through that age. I must say that I was a light-hearted person who gets affected very quickly. Even the news of a road accident was enough for me to get affected. So I used to keep myself away from all those. I never used to read about any news on r**e. Knowing my fear, my parents have made me aware of the situations what we can face and how to avoid it. They made me understand that running away from the realities will only make you more weak. Here it is not reality but fiction. But still we writers can help the teenagers if they couldn't help from reading it. Writers can try to bring some positivity while you describe those things like if they could have done something, this could have never happened or how to avoid those like that, not affecting the flow of the story and reduce the intensity of those scenes. I know it is a challenge as a writer, but still we can try.
Next is mature content, I think writers can reduce it to some extent by not going into the details. Teenagers will be aware of all those but why can't we reduce our part in promoting it? For a matured person, it is just another scene but normally it affects teenagers and they can lose focus thinking of our stories. If our story is good, they will go on reading it without taking into consideration the 18+ warning, so it will be good if we avoid the intensity of the scenes.
I agree with writers that some dark, passionate stories gets more likes than cute love stories. But still I feel that it depends on the concept and writing style. For instance, tellyme's Innocent Love gets more likes inspite of being a cute love story. Also we can't tell that all the passionate stories are getting more likes than normal stories. There are few but still that depends on the concept.
Now coming to readers. I have a question to readers. I have seen most of the writers who write dark stories mentioning in the prologue itself that it is dark story so those who are light-hearted stay away. Even after seeing such a warning, why you read it? Why can't you just ignore it? Again it is curiosity that makes you read all those. Geet forum do have many beautiful stories other than dark stories. So instead of complaining about the dark stories try to read those.
And I know most of the readers don't like to see Maan as a r**ist as he is an ideal man in our hearts.. But when writers have a story, they are trying to keep the flavour of our maaneet with their own stories. Just think if you are reading Maan possessing same character in all FFs, you will surely get bored after a while. So leave it to writers' liberty. If we don't want then don't read.. That is the simple solution.
And last but not the least, I am against forgiving a r**ist even if it is a fiction or reality. I believe that no amount of remorse can undo the crime. I hated it when in GHSP, Dev was forgiven. But, I know why writers are forced to forgive the r**ist if it is Maan, it is just because readers need a happy ending. If the story ends with a separation or severe punishment then normally it is the readers who grimace. So when you try to judge someone please try to see both the views. It is a request.
This is entirely my P.O.V, now it is upto you to take it or not..😊
