Hello, surprised to see me back here. Well, so I am. I wasn't planning to write a epilogue for this but many requested, and my Nidz rather demanded one..lol. So Nidz baby..this one is for you.🤗

I just realized I took about a year to finish this story..lolz..oh god, I am truly bad with my updating speed😆😳..Hope you all enjoy it

Epilogue

One year later

"Daddy", Pari squealed as she launched herself full speed towards the door as Maan entered.

Maan lowered himself just in time to catch her right in his arms giving her a tight hug. "Here is Daddy's Princess". Maan buried his nose in the crook of Pari's neck, tickling her with his nose. Their daughter laughed in sheer joy, and her laughter gave her parents so much joy. Everyday the father-daughter duo greeted each other the same way and yet everyday was special and priceless in it's own way, and Maan never took a day for granted.

" So how much did Daddy's Princess miss me ?", Maan asked.

"This much", Pari replied, spreading her arms as wide as they could go.

One year had gone by and Geet Maan Singh Khurana couldn't be happier. Maan and Geet had gotten married right after the storm cleared, they really didn't see the point in waiting any longer, already they had lost so much time apart. Oddly, Pari accepted Maan, but first as a friend before as a father. They had bonded well. Geet and Maan had explained the situation Pari to the best of their ability and with as much as honesty as possible, but at the end of the day, she was still a five-year-old child who was happy to finally have a Daddy. Maan went through the official adoption process as well. Maan and Geet were parents of Pari Khurana and that's all there was to it.

They had shifted to a grander, much bigger house in the city after the marriage, though Maan bought the rented cottage his wife and daughter loved, and used it as a weekend getaway.

Geet sighed contently before walking up to her husband and daughter to take Maan's briefcase. While keeping Pari in his arms, Maan leaned in to peck Geet's cheek. "Hi sweetheart."

"Daddy, Pari wants a kissy too." She asked for his attention again and he happily complied giving her a kiss on her soft cheek and rubbing his stubble lightly against her cheeks. Pari broke out in a fit of giggles. 'Daddy, that tickles."

"Come on Princess, let Daddy freshen up."

"Mama, we have to go to the fair today. Remember Daddy, you promised.", she turned to face her Daddy with the cutest expression and all the hard work to cut his day at office short seemed worth it. He was going to take his family for an outing today and make his Princess smile, and life couldn't be sweeter.

"Of course, we are going today, Princess. You go play while Daddy changes."

"Okay, Daddy" Maan lowered her to the floor and they watched her race to her playroom that was off to the side of the sitting area.

"Hey beautiful, I missed you today.", He leaned in to kiss her but Geet backpedaled reading the mischief clearly in his eyes. Pari was nearby. Instead, she wrapped her arms his waist, resting her head on his chest. Maan chuckled, setting his chin on her head. "Fine, I will settle for a hug for now."

"Aren't you tired ? We could go tomorrow, the fair is still here for another couple of days." She knew Maan was particularly exhausted today. He had been up and out the house by six in the morning, a important project was drawing to a close and he was needed at work more than usual. But when his daughter expressed the desire to see the fair that visited once a year, Maan couldn't even think of saying no to his princess.

"No way, she has been looking forward to it for days." Geet nodded, she knew he wouldn't change his mind. She then nudged him in the direction of the stairs.

The trio spent the afternoon and most of the evening at the fair ( carnival/mela). Hand in hand with her parents, Pari dashed from one stall to the other, looking at arts and crafts, baked goods and buying a few things here and there. Maan was reluctant to let her on any rides because of the safety issue, but let's just say; it was hard to say no to his girls. But he picked the safest ones he could find. Pari had particularly enjoyed the ride on the honey colored foal she got.

Late in the evening, after the all sugar, fun and walking; the Khurana family made it back home. Pari made no fuss with her shower, ready to turn in after the fun and tiring day.

Geet settled Pari in bed tucking her covers in while they waited for Maan so they could read a bedtime together. Maan walked in, shaking his wet hair from the shower. Geet dazed out for a few seconds looking at the heavenly sight of her husband. Maan noticed her glazed eyes winked at her as he sat next to Pari. Geet blushed. Just then, Geet's cellphone rang and it was her editor. Another one of her books was in the publishing stages and her editor called her at odd times.

"Maan, it's Stacy. I have to take it."

"It's okay, sweetheart. Pari can read a book with her Daddy while we wait for Mama, right Princess?"

"Okay.", Pari happily agreed. Geet pecked on the cheek promising to back soon before she picked as she walked out.

"Hi Stacy."

Geet had kept the call short, but in the five minutes she was gone. Geet was expected Pari to knock out because she was so tired after the day at the fair. Hence, she was surprised whenshe heard both Maan and Pari's voices as she climbed the stairs, even more surprised at the conversation that seemed to be happening between the father-daughter duo. Geet tip toed and stood by Pari's door out of their line of vision.

"Daddy, would you still love me even if I make a mistake ?"

Maan chuckled, 'Depends on the mistake, Princess." But when Maan saw the sadness on his child's face, "Of course, I would still love you, Princess." He wrapped a arm around her and drew her to his chest as he ran his fingers through her silky strands. "Princess, we all make mistakes. I make them, your Mama makes them, you will make some too in your life. But you may not understand it now but soon you will realize that loved ones will forgive you when you make a mistake and hurt them, but you should always look for ways of redemption"

"Daddy, what's re-remption ?", Pari innocently asked.

Maan chuckled and hugged his daughter closer, "That I will explain later but what mistake did you make ?"

Geet's eyes unknowingly filled with tears. She was happier than ever with Maan since they got married, and she now had a complete family. But today she realized what an amazing father Maan was, giving her the right values and bringing her up the right way. She folded her hands and looked above to thank her Babaji for blessing her with so much love.

Pari drew away from Daddy's chest and played with her fingers before Maan clasped her hand in his, "I won't be mad, Princess."

"You know the surprise you told me about, the one we weren't suppose to tell Mama, the one about going to Disneyland, and Mama's favourite Eiffel tower and then to visit Dadi. I kind of told Mama by mistake today. I am super sorry, Daddy. I didn't mean to, honestly. It just slipped out." Pari held her ears as she apologized to her dad.

Maan took her hands away from her ears and held them, "But you didn't mean to, right?" Pari promptly shook her head. 'Then, it's okay. By the way, what did Mama say about the surprise ?"

"She didn't say anything, she pretended she didn't hear me and kept shopping. I think she was trying to save your surprise."

"I think so, Princess. Come on, let's get to bed. I think your Mama is caught up in her work."

Maan tucked Pari in, gave her a kiss on the forehead and turned her nightlight on. "I love you, My Princess."

"I love you, My Daddy."

Maan turned off the light and stepped into the hall and almost yelped in response suddenly seeing Geet. Geet rushed forward and shushed him with her hand and dragged him to their bedroom down the hall.

They both changed and cuddled in bed before dozing off.

"So how did you like the surprise ?", he asked, nuzzling his nose along her jaw.

She reached out to cup his cheek and brought his eyes to face hers."What surprise?", she teased.

Maan chuckled, "The one that Pari exposed. I am taking my girls on a long vacation."

"I like it but I have a surprise for you too. And mine is better."

"Hmm, really now ?"

Geet eagerly nodded and detangled herself from Maan's arms. Geet sat and pulled Maan along. She took his hand and placed it on her stomach and smiled at him.

"What ? you have a stomachache? Umm, you lost weight ?", Maan asked.

Geet's smiled dropped, her husband was so stupid at times, "I am pregnant, you idiot.", she said in a huff.

"Oh, you should have just said that, sweetheart."

Geet angrily pushed his hand away and laid back down on her side of the bed, drawing her covers over her body as she turned her back towards him.

Maan chuckled and snaked his arm around her waist pulling her right against his chest and spoke into her ear. "So only you can pretend to oblivious to a surprise?"

Geet turned around to face him and Maan cupped her face tenderly, "We are pregnant, baby. We are pregnant. ", she whispered, and Maan grinned in response bearing being able to hold in excitement. He wanted to jump in joy and scream to the whole world that he was about to become a dad again.

"Thank you for giving us another chance.", he whispered and Geet understood his emotions. Though the past was in the past, Geet realized how much he valued the second chance she had given their relationship a year ago.

Geet grinned in response as tears of happiness shone in their eyes. Maan closed the distance and gently drew his pregnant wife in for a tender yet passionate kiss.

Well, now That One Mistake officially ends. Thank you for reading it and loving it. Hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.😳
