We reached at doctors office . Doctor seemed really tensed, without wasting another minute I asked her "What is it Doctor? Is everything ok?"

Doctor gestured us to sit. We patiently took our seats. But the next set off the words from doctor's mouth took my breath away and Dev gave me accusing look as if I was at fault.

Doctor: Mrs garwel I am really sorry to say this but you can't get pregnant.

Dotctor seemed to read Dev's mind and said "oh no Mr Garwel it's not what you are thinking. Every time women's are not at fault and same is the case here. She is not at fault but you are."

I looked at Dev he had turned red with anger and he blasted at the doctor "What do you mean doctor?" but before doctor could say anything he started again "well I think doctor you are wrong because it's entirely womens job to give birth to a baby not Man's job and if however women turns out to be infertile (sterile) than its an exceptional case just like now." Dev disgustedly glanced at me. I could feel tears welled up in my eyes.

My brain suddenly stopped working. I was really scared that what Dev will do now? Is he going to kill me? Or marry some other girl for the baby? Doctor then handed us the reports and said

Doctor:"No mr Garwel you are taking it in a wrong way. let me tell you few things here its not Mrs Garwel who is at fault it's you. Now before you say anything I would like to explain you the cause of infertility in men. Male infertility is caused by low sperm counts, poor sperm quality or both. Reaming causes of male infertility can be caused by a number of factors including anatomical problems, hormonal imbalances and genetic defects. In your case your sperm producing testis have been severely damaged. This happens in men with certain chromosomal abnormalities such as Klinefelter syndrome"

When I looked at Dev he was unknowingly sweating which was a new thing for me because I have never seen him like this before.

Dev: "you mean to say I am abnormal."

Doctor "no Mr Garwel what I mean to say is that the treatment is not currently available for most types of male infertility. There is no known treatment when the sperm-producing structures of the testes have been severely damaged or are abnormal.

Dev was devastated to hear that. I was happy that atleast I was not at fault but was really depressed that I can never become a mother.

We silently walked out of the hospital. The silent from Dev was very strange; he had never been this quiet otherwise he would always taunt me. When I looked at Dev again he was coming towards me, I was expecting another harsh treatment from him but what he said totally shocked me.

Dev "Geet I am really sorry for whatever I did and said to you. You just don't tell anyone at home about whatever doctor said."

Ahhh that's what it is about I thought.

Geet "ummm its ok I won't tell anyone."

We drove silently towards our home.

It's been a week since I came to find out about the reports.I was so devastated by my reports that I didn't have courage to face my wife Geet. It was so humiliating. I must do something and that to really fast.

I was disturbed from my thoughts when my mother came to my room.

I stood up and greeted her "Good evening mom and you should have called me."

Pammi "Good evening Dev. No actually I wanted to ask you that what did the doctor say. You didn't tell me anything. I hope reports are normal? "

I didn't want to keep any secrets from my mom and so I just told her what the truth was and as expected she was really shocked.

Pammi "no what are we going to do. Your father will transfer his whole property to an orphanage if you didn't have a baby."

As expected an idea popped into my wise mothers mind and what she told me totally shocked me. I was initially reluctant to agree upon it but then I can't take the humiliation after people will find out about the reality and so I agreed with my mother.

Days passed by I could see the change in Dev's behavior towards me. He was no more that Dev who used to taunt me and raise his hand on me for no reason. He was no friendly and caring towards me but still my heart has doubts behind this sudden change of Dev.

It was a usual day when Dev came to me with a smile on his face which was quiet unusual. It was so uncomfortable to see him smiling like this. Maybe it was the first time after our marriage night I was seeing him smiling.

Dev "Geet be ready tonight, I have a surprise for you." Dev's voice brought me back to my senses. Not able to believe my ears I said "what?"

And Dev again answered me politely "I said be ready for tonight and I am pretty sure that after tonight our life will be changed forever." Confused at his statement I asked "what do you mean?" Dev "you will find out real soon." He left with a silly smile on his face.

I was pretty sure that something wrong was going to happen.

It was seven in the evening and wind started to blow outside.It seemed as if storm was coming I hurriedly closed the windows of my room. I entered my dressing room I tried to locate the switch board to turn the lights on but couldn't do it as somebody forcefully pushed me on the floor and hurriedly tied my both arms. I tried to get up but he took his knife out and said in a really hushed voice "Shhh don't shout or I will kill you."

Scared of him "I asked What do you want from me?" Man"I want you just for tonight and after this I will leave you."

I widened my eyes as he tore my dress

"No please don't do this to me" I said and tried to shuffle away from him but he was to strong. Realization dawned on me when I saw devs face at the back in the dim light but I still tried to call him but he didn't listen. I tried my level best to stop him but it didn't work.

"Please let me go. What have I ever did to you?" but it didn't have any effect on him. he pulled his pants down. I tried to kick him but he caught my leg and slapped me across my face.

"Don't you dare do that." He said to me.

I tried to do everything to save myself but 'Alas' it was too late.

I know most of you are really upset about Payal but you guys have to understand that sometimes in life Allah punishes children for the sins which their parents committee only to dawn some realization in them that them.
